Chapter 639 Eyes, Ears, and Mouth

Chapter 639 Eyes and Ears and Mouthpiece (Second Update)

Salomon didn't allow himself to take long breaks while working; ten minutes was long enough. He wasn't interested in Jimmy Kimmel Live! or interrogating the crazy woman, not even in those extradimensional worlds teeming with lobsters. This wasn't some family-friendly parallel universe like the "Squirrel Girl Universe" or the "West Coast Avengers Universe"; this was a chaotic world where events threatening the entire universe occurred frequently. To complete his mission, he had more important things to do—well, he was somewhat interested in the lobster dimension; maybe that dimension could solve the food crisis, but even so, it wasn't worth wasting his time. This universe was so vast; something new and interesting was bound to appear. Maybe there was even a Bikini Bottom underwater, but only the Eternal God knew the answer to that.

His focus now is not on these absurd things.

Unraveling the inhumans' social structure and other details is paramount. He wants to know if the Inhumans on Earth, the "Afterlife," have ever connected with the "Aktilan" on the moon. He wants to know the location of the Pioneer race's farms to analyze the blood relationship between the Kree and the Inhumans, and what role the Celestials' genetic engineering played. To reverse the Celestials' past, Salomon needs a sufficient number of samples—knowledge from Gaia tells him that the Celestials' experiments resulted in many races originally born on the same planet spreading across the galaxy. These races, used as petri dishes, share the same genes but developed distinct civilizations. For example, the Skrulls were originally Celestial experiments born on Earth, which is why their mythology retains a deep longing for Earth.

The dispersed races also included humans.

For example, on Galatos, a golden galaxy 60,000 light-years away, the inhabitants have even explored outer dimensions, but this has also brought them hardship. They developed an army that replaced the physical body with machinery, retaining only the brain, and through this, they cultivated a magnificent civilization on that wretched planet. Humanity's resilience and purity are vividly displayed in this cruel universe, which leads Salomon to firmly believe that humanity will have the opportunity to step into the next wave of evolution and become the most perfect race.

In order to understand the greatest experiment in the entire universe, he must learn knowledge that is enough to drive any organism insane.

Though reluctant to admit it, Salomon couldn't rule out the possibility that Skrulls and humans shared a common genetic template. "I need samples, Agent Hand," Salomon said slowly. He was calculating how to obtain what he wanted from the S.W.O.R.D. space station built by Nick Fury.

"The Sorority broke one of the teleporter's legs." Agent Victoria Hand stood with her hands behind her back, the folds still visible on her black coat covering her bulletproof armor and powered exoskeleton. Her expression resembled that of a stern Junker noblewoman, and she had indeed acquired a piece of land. "But we couldn't stop him; he escaped with his last strength. We clashed with Coulson's team, but no one was injured," she said. "The mutiny on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s only carrier has been suppressed by the Sorority, and we've captured several Inhumans; their data has been uploaded to the servers. They weren't born Inhumans; they all had their own lives before. For some reason, they were collected..."

"Activate the teleportation chamber and send the sample back to the Immortal City." Although Salomon's expression didn't change much, Stephanie keenly sensed her superior's emotional fluctuation. She took over the conversation with Agent Hand, knowing that Agent Coulson had held back against the Inhumans, and Agent Hand had tacitly approved of this—given the long-term cooperation agreement, Agent Hand's actions were justifiable. Stephanie, however, believed that no one should bring this up when Salomon was in a bad mood; it seemed that every second the Inhumans lived was torture for him.

In fact, Victoria Hand also disliked that agreement, as it seemed too weak to appease terrorists.

“There’s no need for that, Stephanie. I recruited Victoria because she’s direct enough.” The sorcerer waved his hand, interrupting Stephanie’s conversation with Agent Hand. “Tell me the cause of Gonzalez’s death. I hope you already have results.”

"According to the analysis of the accompanying scientists... in fact, no analysis was needed, Gonzalez was petrified. From bone marrow to skin, without exception, it was like a carbonized product after being soaked in tar."

"Is it petrification ability, or petrification magic? Kamar-Taj's planetary defense system isn't always operational; we have to solve this ourselves."

"The spectral analysis points to the former; we did not detect magical spectra in the 'Afterlife,' but we also did not find any Inhumans with petrification abilities." This technology originated from S.H.I.E.L.D., and its roots lie in the traces left by the Bifrost when Thor returned to Asgard. S.H.I.E.L.D. used this to understand magical auras, and Nick Fury, based on his conversation with Salomon, further understood the meanings represented by different magical auras.

However, some scientists, such as Coulson's science team, would prefer to call this phenomenon a magic spectrum.

"It might be Terrigen." Salomon transferred a key to Agent Hand. "Folder A-616-In. You now have access to this classified information. This file contains samples I extracted from the Kree. Have the accompanying technical team begin preliminary analysis. More samples will be transferred from the teleportation chamber. Get the information I need from Jia Ying—the origins of all Terrigen on Earth, and how they acquired the technology to extract Terrigen. I believe you know how to interrogate them. We won't be lenient with the Inhumans. If necessary, repeat what Whitehall did to Jia Ying."

Victoria Hand wrinkled her nose and quietly blew on the red highlights on her forehead.

From the Inhumans' perspective, Salomon was no different from Hitler, who committed genocide, but she didn't hate this practice because she had witnessed the Inhumans' arrogance towards humans. The words "you" and "we" best illustrate this. Even Skye, who had a deep bond with Agent Coulson, defected to the Inhumans, further illustrating that the possibility of humans and Inhumans coexisting was extremely slim.

What she loathed was the teleportation chamber, this hybrid creation of science and magic. The pungent ozone smell after teleporting always irritated her lungs, like a moldy cake stuffed into her chest, constantly making her nauseous. The orders from the Immortal City had been given, and she could only instruct the staff to place the Inhumans injected with sedatives into the cramped chamber—a female Inhuman capable of splitting into several versions of herself, a male capable of generating electricity through his palms, and the remains of a blind teleporter—before personally pressing the teleportation switch. The high-voltage electricity hummed as it pierced the air, the air thick with the smell of ozone. Agent Hand shook his head and returned to the communications room to report to Salomon.

She is Salomon's eyes and ears, working 24/7, year-round, and she is willing to fight for this cause, just as she did when she first joined S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Very good, what about the other task?"

"Do you mean conducting global genetic screening through the vaccine alliance?"
