Chapter 748 Nuclear Strike Capability

Chapter 748 Nuclear Strike Capability (Second Update! Requesting votes at the beginning of the month!)

"If they have any questions about my actions, let them see this." Before leaving, Salomon pulled out a large stack of documents from somewhere, interspersed with photographs. Natasha Romanov was very familiar with this type of document; she had personally written countless mission reports. "I believe that after seeing these, they will have no objections to what I did."

"What is this?"

"Reports on the anti-human trafficking mission, and reports on recent intelligence operations."

"Can you get involved in something like this?" Romanov asked curiously. "I remember you once said that Kamar-Taj wouldn't intervene unless there was an extinction event in the magical or mortal world. You had the same attitude towards past missions."

"Karmar-Taj is out of the question, but the Immortal City is. There are always loopholes in the law, and the Sorcerer Supreme doesn't mind if I take advantage of one." Salomon opened one of the documents. "This is a human trafficking chain in Ukraine, transported from Eastern Europe to the East Coast, and finally docked in New York. Those girls were lured onto the ships under the guise of work, and you can guess what happened next."

"How many of these girls joined the Immortal City?"

"At least half, that's the largest source of manpower for the Sisterhood right now," the sorcerer said. "Besides that, the Sisterhood is also fighting warlords and arms dealers in Africa, and rescuing child scouts. Although the methods are somewhat cruel, for those animals who have almost been reduced to livestock, violence is the most universal language. To cover their tracks, the Immortal City has established many companies, using their names to run schools, establish handicraft workshops, open factories, train good people to become police officers, and build infrastructure such as prisons to fundamentally solve the problem. For those child scouts who have already tasted blood, whips and books are the best educational tools. Only in this way will Western countries not discover that someone is interfering in Africa. They want Africa to remain poor, which is intolerable to me; it's a huge waste of human resources."

What Salomon didn't mention was the extent of Wakanda's involvement in these projects.

When T'Challa learned of Salomon's plan, he was very supportive, and almost all infrastructure construction work was handed over to Wakanda's engineering teams. Thanks to advanced engineering equipment, the Immortal City project progressed smoothly. Because almost no one cared about those areas, few countries truly understood the project to this day. Even the local governments—if the warlords who successfully came to power could be considered governments—only knew that there were some armed forces there that they couldn't afford to offend; nothing more. Even if some were interested, Western media and civil rights groups were barred from entering any area where the Immortal City existed. After all, in the blood-soaked and war-torn African continent, the deaths of hundreds of journalists wouldn't cause a ripple. Only truly benevolent idealists were allowed entry after censorship, and they had to sign confidentiality agreements, fully committing to the Immortal City's construction project.

This part of the work was done by Wakanda's intelligence agencies, who were happy to do it and were used to it.

Of course, not all Wakandas supported the plan. Some Wakandas believed that only by keeping Wakanda and the surrounding African continent impoverished, and only by keeping Africa forever covered by forests and grasslands, could Wakanda's true nature remain hidden. T'Challa vehemently denounced this idea, and even though he wasn't yet king, his words carried considerable influence. King T'Chaka tacitly approved of T'Challa's approach. In a sense, Wakanda was merely a lucky country on the African continent; without vibranium falling from the sky, Wakanda would be no different from any other African nation.

The Wakandas have always owed a debt to the African continent, and they must repay it.

Except for Salomon's proposal to form an army, which was rejected, everything else is proceeding according to plan.

Natasha Romanoff strongly supported Salomon's initiatives. In her view, Salomon's actions were far more practical than those of wealthy individuals who donated to charitable foundations. After all, most of those donations were for tax avoidance, with only a small portion ending up as food and water, distributed to the locals like animals being fed in a zoo. They never gave those people what they truly needed; even the few supplies that did reach the poor were merely to satisfy the rich's compassion, allowing them to enjoy the pleasure of giving to the weak while maintaining their good reputation in high society. That kind of white supremacist fairy tale was utterly disgusting. Compared to that self-pitying approach to help, Salomon preferred to teach them life skills, create an environment where they could survive, and instill reason and wisdom in them.

Whether killing or saving lives, his actions were all for the purpose of saving more lives; he put Kamar-Taj's creed of doing good into practice. Although it was just a small social experiment, Salomon did it far better than almost everyone with his equal wealth. However, Natasha still had some doubts. She didn't believe Salomon's actions wouldn't have a butterfly effect on the world, especially since Africa produces abundant mineral resources; such drastic actions would inevitably cause market turmoil. "Then why haven't diamond prices increased recently, but instead continued to fall?" she asked. "I discovered that those missions included diamond mines. Those companies definitely wouldn't miss this opportunity to inflate diamond prices."

"Because I am the biggest diamond merchant on Earth, my dear. There are no diamond merchants on other planets; they only produce artificially synthesized gems," the sorcerer said with a smile. "I'm not worried about a diamond merchant gang attacking me. They don't have guns, and even if they did, they wouldn't have as many as I do. These guys used to make me spend a fortune on diamond powder for spellcasting; that's a personal grudge."

"What about metallic minerals like gold, chromium, platinum, and nickel? What about oil and natural gas? Even uranium. These are all very, very stable in value. I don't think the prices of these products won't fluctuate after you take control of the mining area, but right now the prices are all within a reasonable range."

"The Immortal City is just one part of all my projects, Natasha. I have the ability to digest these things and turn them into actual products; all I need to do is issue the Immortal City's currency."

"You have nuclear weapons?" Natasha nearly choked on her tea. Salomon pulled her into his arms and patted her to calm her down. She had initially thought Salomon had simply established an armed organization under Kamar-Taj to combat dark magic forces, possessing at most some secondhand tanks, secondhand Quinjet fighters, and secondhand air carriers (which were practically brand new). Having such weaponry and providing maintenance, along with the funding to maintain an intelligence organization, was already a remarkable achievement for a young man in his early twenties who had started from scratch (this was questionable). Moreover, the Immortal City was currently conducting research on genetically modified warriors, proving that Salomon's scientific achievements were more advanced than those of many countries.

However, possessing nuclear weapons is a completely different matter, and Natasha suspected that Salomon already possessed a global nuclear strike capability. Salomon seemed quite embarrassed by this question. "Nuclear weapons are just conventional strike capabilities, Natasha," he said. "If you don't mind, you can change into some more practical clothes, and I'll show you my ship."

"I know you have a sky carrier; I've already seen it."

"It's not a ship in the water, it's from outer space."
