Chapter 800 Noahtun Town

Chapter 800 Noah's Town (Second Update)

There was no safer place than Kamar-Taj, at least not until a candidate for the Sorcerer Supreme arrived. Wanda looked around, completely unsure of what to do. Finally, Salomon grabbed her and ordered her to look after Joan of Arc's body.

This was no easy task. To extradimensional beings, Joan of Arc, with her witch bloodline, held a terrifying allure. A massive swarm of extradimensional bacteria repeatedly rammed the arcane barrier, attempting to devour the runaway witch's magic and Joan's remaining consciousness. Only the Kamar-Taj Sanctuary could maintain such a powerful protective spell for an extended period, buying time for Salomon and Bayonetta. Wanda's mission was to remain vigilant for the spell's failure and, if necessary, use every means to protect Joan of Arc.

Salomon rejected Bayonetta's suggestion to move Joan of Arc's body to the Gates of Hell bar, arguing that even Rodin, the fallen angel, couldn't match Kamar-Taj's professional magical skills. Although Bayonetta was usually quite competitive, she trusted Salomon's judgment more when it came to matters of magic.

Rodin wasn't entirely unhelpful; the wine he sent could slow the corrosive effects of the rampant witch's magic on Joan of Arc's body. Furthermore, the souls of the angels who had previously invaded New York became the currency in the trade. Using a large number of lower-ranking angels, a small number of mid-ranking angels, and some higher-ranking angels as bargaining chips, Rodin readily provided Bayonetta with a large quantity of weapons and equipment to prepare for the upcoming battles. The only problem was that Rodin couldn't enter the Kamar-Taj Sanctuary unless he was suicidal; the Sanctuary wasn't so dire as to allow extradimensional beings to enter.

Salomon briefly visited Hecate through a portal, obtaining some potions and a name.

When he returned to the sanctuary, he received a command from the Venerable One, delivered by Baron Mordo. This command contained a name, retrieved by the mystics from the Cosmic Cauldron, a name identical in meaning to the one Hecate had divined, differing only in name.

In any case, this signifies that His Holiness has allowed Salomon to participate in the next steps.

"This passage is located in the Tian Shan Mountains in Kazakhstan. Finbowent, named after the Winter of Finbowent in the Asgardian legend. In addition, there is the town of Noyadun at the foot of the mountains, the origin of the witch and sage clans."

"I've never heard of that name," Bayonetta said. Salomon placed his hands on Bayonetta's back, gently wrapping his arms around her waist. He could sense Bayonetta's emotions, and he felt he had to comfort her.

"I don't know either, so I went to the library. This part of the document was collected by Kamar-Taj from Sun Island when the witches were destroyed," Mordo said. "Although the portal can take you there directly, I don't recommend using it, because it might alert your enemies no matter what. You can take a plane from your headquarters in the Himalayas and open the portal outside the target location. I remember you should have several planes."

"Did His Holiness allow me to fly the plane to the temple?" Salomon asked.

"His Holiness didn't forbid you from doing anything; even going to Europe was just a matter of reminding you to be careful," Mordo shrugged. "His Holiness asked me to cooperate with you before the trip, but I don't see what else you need."

"I just need time," Salomon said, glancing at Bayonetta beside him. She had already communicated with Lady Butterfly and confirmed that Joan of Arc's soul had not been taken by the Lady of the Styx, who had signed the contract. Moreover, the Lady of the Styx was searching high and low in the lower planes for the thief who stole Joan of Arc's soul, causing chaos in the ecosystem near the River Styx. Large groups of beasts from the lower planes were forced to flee, forcing the mystics of Kamar-Taj to work overtime to drive them back. Although Bayonetta appeared calm on the surface, she was more anxious than anyone else. Only after learning the results of Hecate's divination did her anxiety ease slightly.

Salomon pulled out his phone and quickly searched for information about Finnbowent. He retrieved satellite imagery of Mount Finnbowent and the town of Noyardun as a reference for the operation. "I need time for the Sky Carrier to reach Noyardun. I must be prepared for mission failure," he said. "If things get out of control, I will choose to blow up Mount Finnbowent, completely burying all the passages to Noyardun. You understand why I would do this, Mordo, I am the arcane mage of Kamar-Taj."

"I know, I know," Mordo sighed. He patted Salomon on the shoulder. "Relax, I'll help. You go to the sanctuary in the Himalayas with the witch first. Your Royal Guard will come with me. I'll open a portal for your carrier."

"Thank you," Salomon said sincerely.

"No need to be polite, this is His Excellency's order. The mission of the Witch Clan, and even the fate of that god with the power of chaos, will come to a complete end in this mission. You have a responsibility to oversee all of this on behalf of Kamar-Taj. Of course, participating is not out of the question, after all, our mission is to kill those who call themselves gods, isn't it?"

"Catherine, open the hatch."

"Yes, my lord."

At Salomon's command, the rear hatch of the assault transport slowly opened. A biting wind instantly swept through the cabin, but neither the Sisterhood members clad in their force-feedback powered armor nor the lightly dressed witches seemed to care about the temperature. Salomon's power armor had its energy source replaced, and the detachable jetpacks were refueled. Catherine and her assault team were involved in this mission, but their task wasn't to follow Salomon into Noahdun—this assault transport carried two bunker-buster hydrogen bombs, powerful enough to overturn the entire town below, so Catherine needed them as a last resort in case the sky carrier arrived.

Salomon was not a lone hero; he knew that numbers were an advantage in some respects.

After the Sky Carrier arrives, Catherine needs to guide the Sisterhood to rendezvous with the Royal Guard and Salomon, and direct the Sky Carrier Punishment and the Sky Battleships Cross Rose and Lily to bombard the target relentlessly. Salomon went to great lengths to modify the keels of the Cross Rose and Lily to enable them to provide fire support; he believed that even a High Angel could not withstand a single shell from a Sky Battleship.

As for the civilians living in Noahdune, Salomon had already used hacking to sound the local air raid sirens and play false missile warnings before he even set off. Now, most civilians are fleeing with their families, giving Salomon and Bayonetta room to maneuver. This has come at a cost; Stephanie has called over a dozen times, urging Salomon to reconsider whether it's worth spending the money he's made in the cryptocurrency market on such a trivial matter.

"My lord." Before Salomon and the witch jumped off the gunboat, Catherine walked to the front of her assault squad. "When can we join you in slaying evil spirits? The sisters can't wait."

"Soon, my daughter. Search and destruction, that is the command." The sorcerer finished speaking and leaped up with Bayonetta. Catherine rushed over to see what was happening and found that Salomon and Bayonetta's figures blurred after passing through a magic door.

Catherine quietly stuck out her tongue, then scratched her short, white hair that had been ruffled by the strong wind.

"Ms. Catherine?"

"Quickly close the cabin door, or I'm going to get a belly full of cold air."
