HP: The Moon Over the Magic Academy
Chapter 124 Malfoy is a cargo carrier
Landric looked at the girl in front of him and said with some helplessness, "Didn't you already promise Hagrid? Why are you coming to me now?"
Hermione was a little uneasy. "Rand, although I agreed, things in this world are always changing. Agreeing... doesn't mean I have to do it, right?"
Landric waved his hand, and a tea set containing liquid appeared on the huanghuali wood table in front of him.
He silently picked up the teapot, and as the water flowed down, his fingertips tightened slightly, causing a few drops of tea to spill out and splash onto the wooden table, creating dark water stains.
Without a word, they slowly pushed the warm teacup closer, the only sound in the quiet air being the soft hum of boiling water.
Hermione reached out and touched the teacup, then abruptly pulled her hand back.
Seeing Hermione rubbing her fingertips, Landric chuckled and said, "Did you burn yourself? How could you be so careless? Didn't you see the steam rising from above?"
Hermione immediately stopped what she was doing upon hearing this. "Rand, I know you hate Hagrid right now, but... you know, Hagrid's fault isn't really his."
Landric poured himself another glass. "Hermione, you said it yourself, the fault 'mainly' wasn't his, but he also made mistakes, right?"
"If you make a mistake, you should bear the consequences, right?"
Hermione's face showed a conflicted expression.
Without a doubt, Landric held a very important place in her heart. If it were Landric who was injured, she would never say another word here. Even if Buckbeak didn't die, she would find a way to kill it.
But it's not Landric who's injured now, it's Draco. Compared to Hagrid, Draco seems less important.
Having spent a long time with Landric, she also learned to always keep a scale in her heart to measure everyone.
Draco… Don’t blame her, she can see through Harry’s shallow thinking at a glance. Although she complains about Harry, she has left a mark on him.
I'm sitting here now partly to plead for Hagrid, and partly to test the waters.
I want to see how Landric treats Draco after the conflict.
But now, in just a few words, she had already understood.
That cup of scalding tea was his attitude; he was telling her: now that you know it's 'scalding,' don't reach out anymore.
Hermione took out her wand and tapped the tip of it on the teacup.
The steam rising from the teacup had dissipated, and when you touched it again, the scalding temperature had turned lukewarm.
"You can save Buckbeak"
"Cough...cough cough...cough..." Hermione choked and kept patting her chest.
"What are you doing with Rand?"
"Give me the time converter after you're done saving me."
Sometimes Landric's bluntness leaves Hermione speechless.
"What do you need this for? What are you, the great inventor Rozier, trying to tinker with now?"
Landric slowly sipped his tea. "I want some."
What could Hermione say? "Yes, yes, yes, I'll give you what you want. But you know the Time-Turner isn't mine. Help me come up with an excuse to explain this to Professor McGonagall."
A look of happiness appeared in Landric's eyes. "No problem."
The two reached a tacit agreement.
Draco finally found Landric in class on Thursday.
Sometimes Draco also found it strange that Slytherin and Gryffindor, who were so at odds, had so many overlapping courses.
Hermione was standing next to Landric, and Harry was not far away from him.
Halfway through Slytherin and Gryffindor Potions class, Draco, with bandages wrapped around his neck, swaggered into the classroom.
"How is Draco?" Pansy was genuinely concerned about him.
A hint of grievance appeared on Draco's originally arrogant face, and his gray-blue eyes unconsciously looked in Landric's direction.
"It's okay, I'm fine, and nobody cares anyway."
Landric was speechless, but when Draco walked up to him, he still moved aside to make room for him.
As soon as Draco sat down, he placed his bandaged hand on the table and quietly moved it toward Landric.
Landric pretended not to see it and, for the first time, showed an extremely serious attitude in Snape's class.
Snape: ...
"Malfoy, take your hand back."
Seeing that Draco was about to poke Landric in the face, Snape intervened and stopped him.
Harry and Hermione exchanged annoyed glances. If they had taken this long to arrive for class, their Gryffindor scorestones would probably have vanished in an instant.
That old bat really spoils Slytherin!
Snape was teaching about shrinking potions in this lesson, and Draco, seeing that Landric was ignoring him, placed his cauldron on Hermione and Harry's table.
"Professor, my hand is injured, and I need someone to help me. Gryffindor students are always very helpful; they shouldn't refuse me, right?"
You're ignoring me, aren't you? Well then I'll mess with the people you're ignoring.
Snape saw through Draco's scheme immediately, and before Hermione and Harry could object, he said, "Go ahead."
Harry and Hermione: The old man makes no attempt to hide his favoritism.
Draco proudly raised his chin, placed his materials on the table between them, and said, "Cut it up."
"Your arm is perfectly fine!"
"oh."
Landric completely ignored the commotion on their side, prepared the materials on his own, and then proceeded step by step as Snape had taught him.
Harry was furious and chopped Draco's daisy root into a really mess.
Could Draco be fooled by such a petty trick? He quickly grabbed the ingredients Harry had cut for him, packed them up, and took them away.
He returned to Landric's side and murmured, "Brother, I was wrong, please help me."
Landric was busy with his work, and only after the perfectly accurate potion was bottled did he have a moment to glance at Draco.
Draco continued to pitifully tug at his clothes.
Landric moved his fingers, and Draco's materials entered the crucible in an orderly fashion.
Once Draco's potion was ready, Landric packed his things, asked Snape for permission, and left the classroom, leaving Draco standing there grinning foolishly.
By the time Draco realized what was happening, all he could see was the hem of Landric's robe.
In his haste, the man stood up abruptly, grabbed the potion, and headed toward Snape.
"Professor, don't just stand there! Take this, I have to go out!"
Snape looked at Draco's hand with a complicated expression.
The students, whose attention had been drawn by Draco's dramatic movements, stared in disbelief at Draco's hands.
Draco looked down.
"Hehe, ouch, that hurts!" While talking, he switched the potion to his unbandaged hand.
He put the potion on Snape's table and then chased after him.
Harry, left in the classroom, roared, "Madman, you idiot!"
