The Magical Food God of Hogwarts

Chapter 62 Let's Make Friends

As expected, human society is a complex web of interconnected circles, and the magical world is no exception. The Abbott family is on good terms with the Burns, Macmillan, and Smith families. Young wizards grow up to be friends and classmates, and so on, generation after generation, with emotions, interests, and power intertwined.

Based on what Lucas knew, the pure-blood families, led by the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans, used to be the rulers of the magical world. However, as time passed, although they still possessed a great deal of wealth and enjoyed high prestige and status, their actual power was far less than before.

Half-blood and Muggle-born wizards have risen to prominence and dominate many key areas. The most direct evidence is that "bloodline theory" has been officially denied and is considered a politically incorrect and despised ideology. Many pure-blood families have moved with the times and abandoned the pursuit of pure-blood status.

However, there still exists a group of stubborn wizarding families who insist on the supremacy of "pure-blood," and they still have many followers. They are the beneficiaries of the old era, and there is an irreconcilable conflict between them and the newly emerging power holders.

This deep chasm and rift is known to all wizards in the magical world, yet they tacitly ignore it. The entire magical society functions both very harmoniously and very fragmentedly.

Lucas didn't care about any of this. He had only one goal in life: to live in the moment, pursue his passions, and become the greatest chef and gourmet in the world.

However, he understood very well that many times he was not in control of his own destiny, and as long as he was still in a group or society, he would be caught in these vortexes.

For example, after the Gringotts heist, the Ministry of Magic promoted him as a young hero, and his Muggle origins undoubtedly played a role. After becoming famous, so many fellow Muggle wizards wrote to him and sent him gifts, clearly regarding him as a rising star in their camp.

You can take advantage of the situation and leverage resources to pursue your dreams, but you must never be blinded by fame and fortune, or swallowed up by these whirlpools. Otherwise, you will repeat the mistakes of your past life and lose what you truly love.

With a sense of self-reflection and self-discipline, Lucas presented the young wizards with a strawberry basil smoothie.

Birds of a feather flock together, and like the Abbott family, the Burns, Macmillan, and Smith families had largely abandoned the concept of bloodline. The young wizards happily accepted Lucas and were full of admiration and praise for his culinary skills.

Speaking of which, Hannah mentioned inviting a friend, but it seems he hasn't arrived yet? His name is—

"I'm sorry, I..." A chubby, round-faced boy ran to the stall, leaning on his knees and panting, "I'm late, I'm so sorry... uh..."

He looked at the long queue, his face full of frustration: "Okay, I'll go join the queue first."

Hannah quickly said, "No need, yours is already prepared. Go ahead and try it, Neville."

Oh right, it's Neville Longbottom!

Susan, Ernie, and Zacharys all greeted him, while Lucas sized up the round-faced boy.

Neville, holding his snack, remembered he should say hello to Lucas, but after meeting Lucas's scrutinizing gaze, he visibly shrank back, and the words he was about to say stopped in his throat.

Neville Longbottom is still one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans, but this kid seems a bit timid and introverted.

"Navie, shouldn't you say thank you?" an old woman said sternly from behind Navie.

Neville was startled and stammered a thank you to someone he didn't know.

"Hello, Mrs. Longbottom," the children greeted the old woman. She was a stern-looking noblewoman, tall and slender, dressed in a magnificent green robe and carrying a scarlet handbag. Most striking of all was the tall hat on her head, topped with a vulture specimen.

Now, the old woman's gaze is fixed on Lucas.

"Hello, Mrs. Longbottom," Lucas greeted her in return. "I am Lucas McGregor."

Unexpectedly, the stern old woman smiled and extended her hand to Lucas.

"Hello, Mr. McGregor. I've read about you; you're a brave and good boy. It's remarkable that you stood up against the dark wizard."

Then her tone suddenly turned stern: "Neville! Come and meet Mr. McGregor. You need to learn from him, understand? Especially after you come to Hogwarts, if I find out you're behaving badly..."

Neville was so frightened that his face turned pale. He was still holding the snack, not knowing what to do.

Lucas sighed inwardly; it seemed that his grandmother had put too much pressure on Neville.

"Hi Neville, let me just call you that. You can call me Lucas," Lucas said gently. "You're Hannah and the others' friend, right? So we're friends now. Have a taste, we've been waiting for you."

Neville looked like he was about to cry, nodding vigorously. "Thank you, Lucas, thank you..."

He hastily forked a cheese stick and put it in his mouth, then his eyes widened in surprise: "Oh my god, this is really—"

His expression changed to one of surprise, and he held the plate up to his grandmother.

"Grandma! This is so delicious, you have to try some!"

......

The young wizards were stuffed at Lucas's stall, clearly unable to eat dinner. They all agreed to come back the next day, and that they would come back to eat there for as many days as summer vacation lasted.

Neville watched them with envy. The Longbottom family seemed to have strict rules. Even though Neville's grandmother praised Lucas's food and had a good impression of Lucas, she did not allow Neville to come to Diagon Alley every day.

But looking into Neville's eyes, Mrs. Longbottom finally said, "Alright, Neville. If your textbook preparation progress satisfies me in a week, I'll let you out."

Lucas's food stall was incredibly popular; the ingredients prepared for a hundred people sold out in less than three hours. After saying goodbye to his friends and going to Gringotts to exchange some change for larger bills, Lucas pushed his cart back to the Leaky Cauldron with Hannah.

Today's half-day business brought in a total of nineteen Galleons and eleven Sickles. Since Lucas's stall was reopened through his own efforts, he and Tom renewed their magical contract, purchasing ingredients directly from the Leaky Cauldron and only paying for the ingredients. The overall profit is around fifteen Galleons.

After receiving the 200 Galleons prize, Lucas opened an account at Gringotts and created his own little treasury. Now, he can keep his food stall running until the start of the semester, earning this income almost every day, and his savings will continue to grow.

However, developing culinary research is incredibly expensive, and Lucas felt that what he had was far from enough. He needed to continuously accumulate the capital to pursue his dreams in the future.

In the evening, it was Tonks's lecture time again.

"Today, we're going to learn a powerful offensive spell," Tonks said excitedly.
