Spring Breeze Twenty Years

Chapter 1183 Tongheju

Chapter 1183 Tongheju

The business school's executive program has only about ten students in total, from all over the country. They are mostly CEOs of companies in Yanhai, and the majority of them work for state-owned enterprises. Including Xiaowei and Chen Hui, there are four private business owners in total, enough for a mahjong table.

On March 3rd, Renmin University officially started the new semester, and students from the Business School also came to the school collectively for the first time.

The classroom is in a rather old building near the west gate, which is quite close to Xiuer and her classmates' dormitory number nine.

The teacher was an elderly professor with gray hair, a scholarly air, but not at all old-fashioned. He shook hands with everyone, had about ten people introduce themselves, talked about the course schedule, and then everyone dispersed.

Several state-owned enterprise executives went out to have fun, shouting and laughing. The two private company executives, both from local Kyoto companies, were on the phone, looking like they were planning to buy the moon, and left on their own. Xiao Wei, Chen Hui, and Qin Xuemei went out for a stroll to find Xiu'er at Xue Jiu.

The course schedule is two weeks of intensive study, followed by one day of classes each week. The first two weeks are for theoretical learning, and the latter half of the course mainly consists of discussions, case studies, and site visits. It's quite relaxed.

Chen Hui said, "It feels like state-owned enterprises are just places where you can just kill time. One day of classes a week, then six days of partying, and all expenses are reimbursed. It's so damn blissful."

Xiao Wei said, "Why are you looking at him? We're here to learn something, even if it's just a little."

They were not far apart, only a few minutes away, and the three of them arrived at the bottom of Building 9.

With no classes at the start of the semester, many boys gathered downstairs, some playing instruments and singing, others fidgeting and eagerly waiting. The area downstairs from the girls' dormitory was practically a showcase of all aspects of boys' lives.

Qin Xuemei pointed to the convenience store across from the dormitory: "Xiuer is over there."

Xiao Wei and Chen Hui looked over and saw Xiu'er and several girls buying things, gesturing and talking to the middle-aged shop owner who wore glasses and used a cane.

The three of them walked straight over, and Qin Xuemei called out, "Xiuer."

Xiuer turned her head and looked over, her face immediately beaming with joy: "Sister. Second brother, Brother Chen. Hey, hey, this is my sister. Look, look, see if I'm kidding you or not?" Xiuer ran over and took Qin Xuemei's arm.

Those were her roommates, and they all turned to look at her, their expressions filled with amazement: "Wow."

The girl from Bashu, named Yang Xue, whom I had already met once on the day of school registration, said, "Seeing Zhang Xiu's sister, I suddenly realized that I might be attracted to women."

Young women are never ugly as long as they take care of themselves. If they are naturally beautiful, and they dress up, it's not surprising that other women fall in love with them.

A blush rose to Qin Xuemei's face, and she playfully pinched Xiu'er's nose: "Naughty."

Xiuer's roommates came over to greet her, their eyes sparkling as they looked Qin Xuemei up and down: "Sister." "Sister." "Hello, sister."

Qin Xuemei smiled and said, "Hello to you all. What are you buying here?"

Xiuer stuck out her tongue and said, "We're discussing something with the boss."

Xiao Wei glanced at the bespectacled boss and his cane: "What are we discussing?"

Xiuer said, "I asked the owner if we could rent a TV so we could watch movies in our dorm. There are so many college students on campus, renting out TVs and DVDs must be profitable. But no matter what I said, he didn't believe me."

Chen Hui asked, "Does your school allow it? Does the school allow the use of TVs in the dormitories?"

Xiuer and her roommates exchanged glances, none of them knowing. Xiaowei laughed and said, "We don't even know if the school will allow it, but they're making arrangements quite enthusiastically."

Xiuer's eyes lit up, and she said to Yang Xue, "Yang Xue, why don't you go ask the counselor?"

Yang Xue said, "What's the point of asking? Are you just going to buy it yourself?"

Chen Hui said, "It doesn't seem like it's explicitly forbidden. School dormitories just prohibit high-powered appliances, like electric heaters that heat up quickly, mainly because the circuitry has limited capacity. But televisions don't have that much power, so it shouldn't be a problem. By the way, do you receive any channels on your TVs? Is there cable TV here?"

Xiuer pouted: "No. Only the teachers' dorms and the international student dorms have them."

Zhang Yanting asked Xiuer in a low voice, "Is he your biological brother?"

Xiuer nodded: "My second uncle's family. Brother, didn't you guys officially start school today?"

Xiao Wei said, "Yeah, classes start tomorrow. Have you guys started classes yet?"

Xiuer said, "No, classes don't start until the day after tomorrow."

Xiao Wei said, "That's perfect, your classmates are all here too. Let's go out for a walk, it's on me today."

Xiuer was overjoyed and tugged at Qin Xuemei, jumping up and down: "Okay, okay, I want to eat seafood, I want to sing, I want to go to the computer mall. How about we go eat at Bianyifang tonight?"

Chen Hui laughed and said, "You're really not being polite. Do you guys have computer classes? Why don't we get a computer? That can play DVDs too."

Xiuer said, "Great, great, I have a class. We usually have to queue up for practice, it would be so nice to have my own. I've been wanting to for a while, but I just can't bear to give it up."

Xiao Wei said, "Let's go eat first. Where should we eat seafood? Do you know a place?"

Xiuer turned and pulled Yang Xue: "This is our dorm's number one foodie. Yang Xue, where are we going to eat seafood?"

Yang Xue was indeed a foodie; the mention of food made her swallow hard, and she licked her lips before saying, "Tongheju is definitely the best." She stuck out her tongue, then said shyly, "I just said that offhand. Hehe, I heard it from someone else."

Zhang Yanting said, "Why don't we eat near the school? It's cheaper there." She glanced at Xiuer, then at Xiaowei.

Xiao Wei asked Yang Xue, "Do you know where it is? I can't find the place."

Yang Xue stared with her beautiful big eyes and asked, "Really? It's near Yuetan Park, next to Yuyuantan Park. Well, it's a bit expensive."

Xiao Wei asked, "Have you been there?"

Yang Xue shook her head: "I've never been there, how could I afford it? I just passed by and heard others mention it."

Xiuer said, "She just loves to eat. She knows all the good food places and knows more about all kinds of restaurants and snacks than textbooks do. And she can eat as much as she wants without gaining weight."

Yang Xue felt a little embarrassed by what Xiuer said, glanced at Xiao Wei, and wrinkled her nose at Xiuer.

Xiao Wei checked the time and said, "Let's go then, let's go to this place, Tongheju, I'll try it too."

Xiuer turned her head and looked around: "Brother, you didn't drive?"

Xiao Wei said, "It's open, over there, let's go."

The three of them, along with Xiu'er and the other three, walked towards Mingde.

Zhang Yanting, the eldest in the dormitory, glared at Yang Xue: "How can you be so thoughtless? Do you know how much a meal costs? It would be so embarrassing if it were too expensive. Would you eat or leave? It would make people lose face."

Yang Xue, typical of people from Sichuan and Chongqing, doesn't care much about what others think. She said, "I didn't think that much about it. Judging from her brother's appearance, he probably doesn't lack money, right? Look at the clothes her sister is wearing; they look expensive."

Zhang Yanting said, "What does it matter to us whether someone needs money or not? Just because someone invites us to dinner doesn't mean we should take them to expensive places. Should we invite them next time?"

At the front, Xiaowei said, "There's not enough room for nine people. At most, six can sit."

Chen Hui said, "Let's take another taxi. We'll go straight back after we finish eating, and then we'll bring two cars out this afternoon."

Xiao Wei said, "Okay, you drive then. My sister Xiu'er and I will take a taxi. It should be easy to get one around here, right?" He looked at Xiu'er.

Xiuer nodded and said, "Easy to beat up, there are plenty on the street outside the school gate."

A car with license plates 100 came up from behind and honked its horn. Xiao Wei and the others moved to the side of the road to make way, and the car drove past, letting out two whistles.
