Spring Breeze Twenty Years

Chapter 1185 It's Gone!

Chapter 1185 It's Gone!

Xiuer pouted: "But I don't really want to go to work; it feels boring."

Xiao Wei said, "Let's talk about it when the time comes; there are still a few years to go."

Yang Xue nudged Zhang Mingfang: "Did I hear that right? We're supposed to go around trying different dishes? And we have to go to a fancy restaurant?"

Zhang Mingfang nodded, looking at Xiaowei and Chen Hui.

Xiao Wei said, "We plan to open a restaurant here, also going for the high-end route. Consider this a survey for us. Please write a detailed report, including whether the environment is comfortable, whether the service is adequate, the prices of the dishes, the types of dishes, the taste, and the location and customer traffic. Please be as detailed as possible."

Zhang Yanting asked, "Do we have to go to all the big restaurants?"

Xiao Wei said, "Find some old restaurants with character, or those that are famous. You can figure out the rest yourselves."

Xiuer counted on her fingers: "If I have class, I eat at one place at night; if I don't have class, I eat at two places at noon and in the evening. That's seven or eight places a week, and more than twenty a month."

Xiao Wei tapped Xiu'er on the head with his chopsticks: "Aren't you going to let your stomach rest? Don't eat until you get diarrhea. Two or three restaurants a week is fine, there's no rush."

Everyone laughed. Xiuer introduced Chen Hui, Xiao Wei, and Qin Xuemei to their classmates: Zhang Yanting from Ludong, Yang Xue from Bashu, Zhang Mingfang from Jibei, Cheng Jingchun from Kyoto, and Wen Sijing, a girl from Xiangxi whom they had met a couple of days ago.

Soon, the dishes began to arrive. This restaurant serves traditional Shandong cuisine, but specializes in seafood and river fish. The chef is quite reliable, and the dishes are visually appealing, fragrant, and presented beautifully. Of course, the prices are also reasonable, which might surprise most people at this point.

While it's said that public funds are prohibited from being used for personal consumption, the reality is that almost every one of these old restaurants in Kyoto survives on public funds; ordinary people simply can't afford them. However, these restaurants have long been state-owned, so it's hard to say for sure.

It wasn't until the late 90s that some of these time-honored brands were returned to their successors or converted into joint-stock companies.

We started eating as soon as the food was served, and Xiaowei ordered some drinks.

After taking a few bites, Chen Hui said, "The taste is good. The chef here is quite skilled. It seems that if we were to open a shop here, we would have to put some effort into the chef's skills."

Xiao Wei nodded. After all, this is the capital, the foundation of the country, where elites and top experts from all industries gather. Nothing here should be underestimated.

After the meal, Xiaowei paid the bill. The meal cost over 700 yuan, and that was without alcohol; the price was indeed quite high. The main problem was that several of the specialty dishes were rather expensive.

Xiuer patted her pocket: "I have enough start-up capital. I can get reimbursed later."

Several girls looked at Xiuer with a bit of envy. In this day and age, having seven or eight hundred yuan in your bag is considered quite wealthy. Although there are many students at Renmin University who are relatively well-off, it's not to the point where everyone has seven or eight hundred yuan to spend as they please.

In this day and age, a normal college student's living expenses for a semester are only five or six hundred yuan, and some people don't even get that much.

After leaving the restaurant, Chen Hui drove, while Xiao Wei and the others took a taxi back to the courtyard house.

Xiuer was also visiting for the first time, and she stared wide-eyed at everything around her.

It's different here from the city; there's a lazy atmosphere in the air.

A gentle breeze blew across the lake, swaying the willow branches. An old man played chess under the tree, and the occasional sound of some musical instrument drifted from somewhere. A tricycle jingled as it passed by, and people walked along the road at a leisurely pace.

Qin Xuemei tugged at Xiaowei's clothes and pointed outside the car. Xiaowei looked down and saw Quanjude and Tongheju. He hadn't expected there to be shops right at his doorstep.

Chen Hui drove the car directly into the garage, and Xiao Wei and the others got out of the taxi and entered the yard through the side gate.

Xiuer asked, "Where is this? I heard this area is full of bars and recording studios. What are we doing here?"

Xiao Wei glanced at Xiu'er: "You don't know?"

Xiuer touched her hair: "Huh?"

Xiao Wei said, "This is our home. We bought it a long time ago. Your sister and I live here."

Xiuer shook her head: "I don't know." She looked around: "You guys are so extravagant, living in such a big courtyard. I can't take it anymore, I want to come too."

Xiao Wei said, "There are houses available. You can come if you want, but it's best to stay in the dormitory most of the time."

Xiuer said, "Then, can I ask my classmates to come?"

Xiao Wei said, "Okay, there are still plenty of houses in the back. You can pick one yourself."

As soon as the door opened, Jing Yunfa, the manager of Kyoto Company, came out: "Chairman Zhang."

Xiao Wei nodded: "This is my sister, Zhang Xiu. I brought her over to see you. You go ahead with your work."

Chen Hui led the four girls into the yard through the small gate of the garage, and the manager greeted Chen Hui again.

Chen Hui nodded and said to Xiao Wei, "Why don't I move in too? It's not convenient living at Lao Chen's place."

Xiao Wei said, "Where's the child? I'm worried that my aunt and uncle might miss the child; it's not easy for them to be together now."

Xiuer tugged at Xiaowei, pouting, and said, "Brother, you're lying. It's clearly your company here, yet you made me choose the room."

Xiao Wei pinched her lip: "Hanging an oil bottle around your neck, huh? Did I say you could stay in this hospital?"

Chen Hui said with a smile, "Behind us, in front are the garage and the company."

After entering the second courtyard through the side gate, Xiaowei said, "Your sister and I live in the third courtyard. This courtyard is where your brothers Gao and Hou live. Do you want to stay in this courtyard or go to the back?"

The second courtyard is the complete first courtyard, with a large courtyard covered with blue bricks, and corridors on both sides. There are three main rooms, east and west wing rooms, east and west side rooms, and a side courtyard. Two old trees in front of the courtyard are lush and green, blocking out half the sky.

After entering three more courtyards, there were five main rooms, with side rooms and ear rooms arranged in an arched pattern on both sides. There was a small garden, a well, and a small pavilion under a few old trees in the corner of the courtyard.

Xiuer asked, "Who lives here?"

Xiao Wei said, "It's just me and your sister. You can choose, it'll be enough. But we'll try to stay in the dorms as much as possible, it's a bit far from here." It's twelve kilometers from Qianhai to Renmin University, which is indeed not close.

Xiuer said, "You all still have to go to school."

Xiao Wei said, "We only have classes one day a week, can you manage?"

Xiuer said, "I want to live here. No, you still owe me a car. Give it to me, I'll drive it to school. It'll also be convenient to go to my godfather's house afterwards."

Qin Xuemei said, "I'll go back to my room for a bit. You two can talk slowly." She then went back to her room.

This is a large courtyard house, with three main rooms, two side rooms, and five rooms each in the east and west wing rooms.

Xiao Wei lived in the main room in the middle, Qin Xuemei lived in the east room, and Chen Hui pointed to the west room: "I'll stay in this room. Is everything provided?"

Xiuer tugged at Xiaowei's arm and shook it: "Will it work? Will it work?"

Xiao Wei said, "Okay, okay, I'll shake it off. Just promise it won't interfere with your studies."

Xiuer jumped up and shouted, "Oh! Victory!" She went over and pulled Zhang Yanting and Yang Xue, "Come and see, which side do we want? This will be our dormitory base from now on." The six girls looked left and right, and finally chose the west wing.

After looking around the house, Xiu'er asked Zhang Yanting, "How are we going to stay? Will we stay together or each have a room?"

These are all heated brick beds, but Xiaowei didn't let them be demolished. Instead, he replaced them with electric ones, so there's no need to burn firewood or coal. They're cleaner, more comfortable, and warmer in winter.

Zhang Yanting looked at her classmates, thought for a moment, and said, "Why don't we all sleep together? There's enough room." She felt embarrassed about taking up too much space.

Xiuer said, "It's okay, there are so many houses, why don't we each have our own room? Just one room each."
