Chapter 1342 Went to the Hospital

Chapter 1342 Went to the Hospital

Xiao Wei and Chen Hui went straight back to the courtyard.

This wasn't considered a big deal at all; it was forgotten as soon as it came out. Not worth discussing.

After arriving home and parking the car, the group went through the side door of the garage into the yard, not stopping in the front yard, but going straight to the back.

When they got there and looked around, none of their family members were there.

"Did she go to her sister's place?" Chen Hui peered into his room through the glass, shading his eyes with his hand.

Xiao Wei looked around and said, "Right? Let's go take a look."

The group walked out of the main gate and headed towards Doujiao Hutong. They had only taken a few steps and hadn't even reached the bend when Ma San caught up from behind: "Xiao Wei, Boss Chen."

The two of them turned to look.

Ma San said, "I've been waiting for you guys at the convenience store by the entrance, and you showed up in the blink of an eye. Um," this guy was a bit chubby, and he was panting a little after running a few steps, so he put his hands on his knees and took a deep breath, "went to the hospital, the power company hospital. They went to both."

Xiao Wei was taken aback: "Why didn't you call me?"

Ma San gasped for breath a few times: "Yes, you're meeting foreign guests, and I don't want to disturb you. I'm supposed to wait here."

Xiao Wei reached out and patted Zhe Ma San on the shoulder: "Alright, thanks, you can go back and rest now."

The group turned around and ran back, then got into their car, revved the engine, and drove onto the main street towards Liuliqiao.

As Wang Jiwei stepped on the gas, he said to Xiaowei, "It's okay, don't panic. Xiaohong is healthy and the baby has always been normal. She must be due soon. You're going to be a dad soon."

Xiao Wei rubbed his hands on his pants, licked his lips as he looked ahead, and said, "I know, it's okay. Brother-in-law, drive slowly, it's alright, no rush. No rush."

Chen Hui squinted at Xiao Wei: "How's it going? Panicking, huh? Remember what you said to me back then? 'This kind of thing, anyone in it panics.' Now let me give you some advice: What's the panic? You're such a coward, is it really necessary to be like this?"

Xiao Wei: "Get lost."

Chen Hui laughed and said, "Xiao Hong is much stronger than Chen Xiao, don't worry, nothing can happen to her, the regular checkups are all there."

Xiao Wei said, "I know, I couldn't help it. Now I understand how you felt back then. You really can't understand unless you've experienced it yourself. Brother-in-law, you really don't need to rush, don't worry about me, just drive slowly."

Wang Jiwei said, "It's a good thing it's now. If it were any later and we were in rush hour, we'd be sweating bullets. I've noticed you're always so lucky. What did you two talk about today? I didn't hear you mention it."

Chen Hui waved his hand and said, "Forget it, let's not talk about this. A bunch of lunatics. They want to merge our company with them and give us five percent of their group. I swear, their company's total assets are only a little over 100 million. I don't know where they get the nerve to be so arrogant."

Xiao Wei said, "They're just confident. It's a multinational corporation, worth over four billion."

Chen Hui laughed a few times: "Don't be ridiculous, these Koreans, I'm fucking impressed, truly impressed."

Wang Jiwei turned his head and glanced at it: "What the hell is this, going from 100 million to over 4 billion in a minute?"

Chen Hui said, "Those Koreans always talk about billions, but we only talk about Korean won. Dividing by 210 or 220 is about right."

Wang Jiwei nodded: "Koreans and Japanese are similar. They either talk about the US dollar or their own currency all the time. They seem to feel ashamed to talk about third-party currencies."

I knew something before. When people came to Fengtian to invest, they would say they would invest hundreds of millions or that their assets were worth billions. But in the end, I found out they were talking about Korean won. They actually invested a total of about four million to build a printing factory.

Back then, they really fooled the China Merchants Group, offering them plenty of favorable policies and conditions. But once the contract was signed, there was nothing they could do. Hey, these kinds of things happen all the time, haven't you noticed? The Japanese and Koreans especially love investing here.

Xiao Wei said, "They're just rich and gullible. Our prices are cheap, and people like foreign products. Didn't that Director Xin say we're not businessmen because our prices are too low? If we really let them enter the market and establish themselves, hmph, they'll be swindled out of a lot of money."

Wang Jiwei said, "Foreigners are cunning; their words are all traps. And here, people are indeed naive and rich. There's nothing we can do; the place is too big, and not everyone is so sensitive to information."

Those foreign beggars come along and scam you in no time. The locals don't even dare call the police; they just cover it up. They're so easily fooled. They're so naive; their perspective is too narrow. Some of their scams seem laughable in retrospect.

Xiao Wei flexed his wrists: "It's true, it's too big, there are too many people, everyone wants to expand, it's a bit like grasping at straws when you're desperate, and we're inherently willing to believe that outsiders can do better. It's a tradition."

Chen Hui said, "We're a great nation, after all, so we have to be respectful and act like one. But we've just not done it right. Look at history, when have we ever not suffered losses in the hands of foreigners? Back then, those small countries would come to pay tribute once a year, and we were always losing money, even losing our underwear."

Xiao Wei nodded: "In some people's eyes, our investment of 100 million is not as good as a foreign investment of 1 million. There's nothing we can do about it."

Wang Jiwei asked, "What happened in the end? You guys didn't just storm off and leave, did you?"

Xiao Wei said, "That's about right. I don't know where he gets his confidence from. He just throws out the conditions and is about to pop champagne and sign the agreement, as if we're the ones who are getting a good deal."

Chen Hui said, "That's not necessarily true. All the companies under our umbrella are independently registered, so maybe they really don't know. Foreigners come here and are unfamiliar with the place, so it's not easy for them to get information."

Wang Jiwei shook his head: "It's a multinational corporation, after all. If you put it that way, wouldn't it have gone bankrupt long ago? Would you dare to take action without investigating thoroughly?"

Xiao Wei laughed and said, "It's pretty much like what I said. The main problem is that they look down on us too much, and they probably wouldn't bother to check. In their eyes, we still eat pickled vegetables every day and have never used a toothbrush."

Chen Hui laughed and said, "You know what, it's pretty much true. People who travel to Japan and South Korea all come back saying that those countries look down on us, especially South Korea. In their own propaganda, we're portrayed as so poor we can't even afford food, living in dire straits."

Xiao Wei said, "Arrogance is certain, but it shouldn't be as extreme as you described. It's more like that at the lower levels, but not at the upper levels. If he didn't understand our market, would he dare to come and throw money around? He's just too arrogant, and he takes some things for granted."

I bet Director Xin thinks we'll immediately kneel down when we hear it's a multinational corporation, thinking we're getting a great deal? Aren't there plenty of people who get fooled and sold off cheaply?

As they were talking, they arrived at the hospital.

After parking the car, the group strolled into the obstetrics and gynecology ward of the inpatient department. Chen Hui had been here before and knew the way well, arriving at the obstetrics and gynecology nurses' station.
