Chapter 312 Everything is Ready

The salesperson said, "This is a folding knife, used for trimming curved surfaces. It's for making the cream on the entire surface of the cake curved."

Xiao Wei then pointed to another saw-like object and asked, "What about this one?"

The salesperson said, "That's a two-in-one tool; it can be used to cut cakes and also to smooth the surface. You can't just make a cake completely flat, right? It needs to have some flair to look nice. And this knife makes the slices of cake and bread exceptionally smooth and fine."

Xiao Wei nodded and said, "Give me one of each, I'll take my time figuring them out when I get back, they all have to be imported."

Han San asked, "You're still quite interested in these things?"

Xiao Wei laughed and said, "Once you start doing it, you'll learn how to do it. Besides, it's quite interesting."

Han San nodded and said, "Your personality is great; you're energetic about everything. It'll be good to learn from you. Even though you're the boss and don't have to do the work yourself, it'll still be beneficial to learn. At the very least, you won't be able to fool others."

Xiao Wei said, "I'm just interested in these things. I'll learn them if I have the chance. It's always good to have more skills, I haven't thought about it that much."

Han San said, "It's all about personality. It's good to have interest; you can only do things well if you have interest. How about we go tomorrow?"

Xiao Wei said, "I don't mind. I want to go with my boyfriend too, and I think I'll probably have to go with Chen Hui as well. Chen Xiao's pregnancy has really worn him out lately. He's such an active person, and he's been staying home all the time."

Han San said, "Then let's both go. The road is clear now, so it's easy to travel. Two cars are enough, and you two can take turns driving."

Han San said, "Four thousand it is, and I'll give you those knives as a gift."

Xiao Wei said, "One thing at a time. I'll have to buy from you every time, right?" Han San said, "How about four thousand? That's about 20% off. That's fine. I can still make a profit. I'll just give other regular customers a discount anyway. The profit margin on this stuff is not bad."

Opening the trunk, Han San said, "Damn, you only gave me two packs of cigarettes out of all this? You're so stingy!" He put the knife in the car and took out two packs of cigarettes.

Xiao Wei laughed and said, "Just let you have a taste, is that enough?" He closed the trunk and got into the car. Han San said, "It's past nine o'clock, don't be late, or it'll be dark when we get there."

Xiao Wei nodded, started the car, and drove off. Han San, holding two packs of cigarettes, hummed a little tune as he returned to his shop.

Upon arriving at Sanhao Street, Xiaowei drove directly to the back yard, parked the car close to the side of the road, and entered the restaurant through the back door.

"Twist your waist, swing your hips, keep smiling, and watch your stride; too big or too small doesn't look good. Walk forward, turn around, okay. Do it again." A woman's voice could be heard as soon as you entered the back door; the waitress was giving a lesson.

Peeking inside, I saw the staff all dressed in uniforms practicing their walking postures. A woman in her thirties was giving instructions with her back to Xiaowei; she must be the flight attendant we hired, and I heard she's a chief purser.

Chen Hui and Chen Xiaojin were sitting by the window watching, not seeing Li Na. Xiao Wei opened the door and went in. Chen Hui waved to Xiao Wei, and the flight attendant turned her head to look at Xiao Wei and nodded.

He sat down next to Chen Hui, tossed him a pack of cigarettes, and whispered, "How's it going?"

Chen Hui looked through the cigarettes, then opened the box to look inside. He took out two and handed one to Xiao Wei. He lit one for himself, took a puff, nodded, and said, "Okay, that's good. Things will be done soon here, in three or four days. Then comes the menu training. The chef has arrived and worked with Fifth Brother to pull out the menu, but it hasn't been printed yet. It's going to be printed in color, with photos all of it."

Xiao Wei nodded, then turned to Sister Jin and asked, "Are you getting used to the new menu?"

Sister Jin said, "It's nothing, just that the requirements are a little higher. There's not much difference in my area. The apprentices and cooks are learning from the chefs upstairs, so it's kind of like training. When did you come back?"

Xiao Wei said, "They arrived last night. Where's Li Na?"

Sister Jin pointed to the waiter who was practicing and said, "Isn't that the third one over there?"

Xiao Wei looked up and saw that Li Na was in third place, walking along. When she saw Xiao Wei looking over, she glared at him.

Chen Hui said, "This chef is good. He signed a five-year contract and has been helping Fifth Brother design the plating these past few days. I must say, once he put it together, the food looks much more upscale. This kind of thing has to be done by professionals. Fifth Brother can only cook, but he's not good at plating, which is a problem."

Xiao Wei said, "That's for sure, take your time, you'll get used to it. We're leaving tomorrow morning, are you and Chen Xiao coming?"

Xiao Wei turned to look at Chen Xiao. Now that the weather was warmer and she was wearing lighter clothes, her belly wasn't as noticeable as it had been a while ago. He said, "We'll drive there ourselves, and it'll be crowded. It should be fine, right?"

Chen Xiao said, "If my mom were to follow my lead, I'd be better off lying in bed all day. That would drive me crazy. Anyway, I'm going. Once I give birth in the second half of the year, I won't be able to leave even if I want to. It'll be several years."

Xiao Wei smiled and asked Chen Hui, "Is everything here?"

Chen Hui said, "The clothes, tablecloths, napkins, cups, chopsticks, plates, and bowls have all arrived. We're currently contacting them about the alcohol; the only thing missing is the beer cups. They called yesterday saying they'd be delivered the day after tomorrow. Xiao Wei, what kind of beer glasses do you think we should use?"

Chen Xiao said, "This guy wanted to make a wooden cup, saying that glass didn't look right."

Jin Jie said, "So the wine glass I used before wasn't working?"

Xiao Wei said, "A stemmed glass is for drinking red wine, it's out of place. A flat-bottomed glass will do, but choose one with a nice, elegant design."

The training was paused. Xiao Wei got up and called someone to bring the cigarettes in from outside and put them in the cabinet. Chen Hui said, "Four boxes is all? When will we ever get to use the other hundred boxes?"
