My girlfriend is from 1949

Chapter 147 Difficulties, On-Demand Cinema

"Why did you decide to buy cotton-padded coats? Are they for ordinary people in the new China to wear through the winter?"

Lin Wan blinked her big eyes, her pretty face full of delight.

Although she has become familiar with this world and can skillfully use both household appliances and some technological products.

But in the end, the time was still too short.

She travels between two worlds, staying for three days each time.

So, all things considered, it would only take about twenty days in modern time.

Moreover, during these twenty days, time for eating and sleeping must be excluded.

Although she is already working hard to learn and absorb more knowledge.

But absorption takes time; it's not like a computer where you can download and memorize everything.

Just like reading books, it takes many years to learn knowledge.

She knew about the Korean War and that it was American imperialism that launched the war, which was truly aimed at China.

However, some details remain unknown.

The Chinese People's Volunteer Army lacked supplies when it entered Korea, and many units rushed into Korea without even warm clothes.

The only way to eat it is in the freezing cold, with a mouthful of ice and a mouthful of fried noodles.

Even frozen potatoes need to be warmed up in your arms before eating, otherwise they'll break your teeth.

Therefore, Chen Huai'an has already contacted a manufacturer that produces heating packs and ordered three million heating packs.

All you need to do is grab a handful of snow from the ground to make the heating pack emit heat.

Even when there's no way to start a fire, it allows soldiers to steam food over water and have a hot meal in the freezing cold.

Anyway, that thing isn't expensive. Regardless of whether we'll actually use it or not, we'll just buy it and ship it over first.

Faced with the questioning gaze, Chen Huai'an explained, "Because you usually have a lot of things to learn, I prioritized them."

I haven't told you some details about the Korean War before.

After all, in your world, that war won't break out for another year and a half.

Now that the Time-Space Treasure Chest has enough storage space, we can prepare supplies for winter.

I'll search for relevant videos for you when I get back.

After hearing the explanation, the doubt on Lin Wan's pretty face disappeared.

I understand his arrangements.

Things should be prioritized according to their importance and urgency. Shanghai has not even been liberated yet, so it is indeed too early to talk about the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

After the liberation of Shanghai, with a safe rear, there was no longer any need to worry about supplies and important documents being intercepted by the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics.

Take the relevant documents to Shanghai, and then send them to Beijing.

This arrangement is indeed more prudent.

Otherwise, if an accident were to occur and even one document related to the Korean War were intercepted by the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Oh, I see."

Lin Wan nodded slightly, her big eyes showing a look of adoration again: "But why haven't I seen any videos about the Korean War when I'm scrolling through short videos?"

She is already proficient in using mobile phones and even bought a domestically produced phone for 1580 yuan.

At home, I can easily watch short videos to learn about 2025.

But over so many days, I've seen the Liberation War, the flag-raising ceremony, and even the defeat in the Battle of Taiwan.

I haven't seen a single video about the Korean War.

Chen Huai'an smiled and said, "This question should be asked of the damn big data!"

Whatever videos we frequently watch, that damn big data will push to us.

If you don't usually watch something, it will be judged as uninteresting by big data.

Once you like something, big data will determine that you like it.

Then, they will frequently push relevant content to you.

For example, some people enjoy watching beautiful women dance, so big data will frequently push videos of women with long legs and stockings to them.

No doubt about it, big data understands you better than your partner!

Lin Wan nodded her head, suddenly realizing, "Then...doesn't everyone have no privacy at all?"

"Uh..." Chen Huai'an paused, blinked, and didn't know how to explain.

Only one thought remained in my mind: What she said makes so much sense, I was speechless!

After all, what others say is true. Every action and preference is under the surveillance of big data. Where is the privacy?

But thinking about it carefully, it seems that people nowadays don't really have any privacy.

Last night he also received a scam call. The caller not only called out his name but also mentioned the date he last conducted business with the phone.

If people weren't more aware of fraud prevention these days, they might actually fall for it!

Chen Huai'an blinked, adhering to the principle of changing the subject if he couldn't refute it.

"Let's go, my appointment time is almost here."

really

Hearing the urging, Lin Wan didn't press the issue of privacy any further.

I turned off the light and quickly followed.

After getting their car, the two went directly to the outside of a building.

Looking at the office building in front of her, Lin Wan asked curiously, "Is the movie theater here?"

"That's right, I booked the on-demand movie theater."

Chen Huai'an responded and pulled her into the elevator.

The so-called on-demand cinema is also known as a private cinema.

Unlike large cinemas, private cinemas offer more privacy and do not require scheduling; you can choose whichever movie you want to watch.

However, the screen size and atmosphere are definitely not as good as those in a large cinema.

Fortunately, it was the first time Lin Wan had heard of a private cinema, so her big eyes were full of excitement and anticipation.

If it were any other girl, she would probably either shyly call him a "you rascal" or yell "you pervert!"

The privacy offered by private cinemas has also been exploited by some criminals.

Many cinemas are showing popular movies in theaters without authorization, commonly known as "cam versions," or online downloads, infringing on the copyright holders' right to screen the films.

They also offer "overnight stays" with beds, but fail to verify or register identities according to hotel industry standards, thus operating outside of public security supervision.

Hidden cameras were illegally installed in some private rooms, and the videos recorded were sold on the black market, seriously infringing on consumer privacy.

There are even paid services that offer temporary love.

So, one dared to place the order, and the other dared to come!

However, the cinema that Chen Huai'an booked was a legitimate on-demand cinema with all the necessary permits and licenses, and it didn't have any shady dealings.

It primarily caters to couples on dates and groups who enjoy this atmosphere.

Moreover, the price is outrageously expensive.

He booked a private room, which cost 200 yuan per hour!

"Welcome!"

As soon as the elevator doors opened, a hostess in a cheongsam warmly greeted us.

He politely asked, "Do you have a reservation, sir?"

"Yes." Chen Huai'an gave the last four digits of his phone number and was led into a large private room.

Wow~ What a huge TV screen~!

Lin Wan stared at the huge screen that was as big as a wall, her mouth agape.

Although the TV at home is 85 inches, it looks tiny compared to this screen that covers an entire wall.

Soon, the waiter brought tea, snacks, and fruit.

Two hundred yuan an hour, and all these drinks are unlimited.
