Chapter 27 Dormitory

Zhang Lexuan led Ji Lin through the white freshman teaching building and the black second and third-year teaching buildings, and they saw the dormitory building. The dormitory building occupied a very large area, and although it was a single building, it was painted in four colors: white, yellow, purple, and black. This clearly represented the living areas for students of different grades from the four teaching buildings, and it had six floors in total.

The two arrived at the entrance of the white building, where an elderly man sat. He was dressed in a grey cloth robe, his face lined with wrinkles deep enough to kill several flies simultaneously. His eyes were dim and yellowish, his eyelids drooping, giving him an air of frailty and age. Sunlight streamed between the buildings, falling perfectly on him, and the reclining chair looked quite comfortable.

Zhang Lexuan stepped forward and respectfully greeted, "Elder Mu!"

Ji Lin knew that this frail old man was Elder Mu, Dragon God Douluo Mu En, a level 99 Limit Douluo.

He quickly stepped forward and respectfully bowed, just like Zhang Lexuan, saying, "Hello, sir."

"Um!"

Old Mu responded softly, then extended his trembling right hand, "Let me see the badge and the dormitory key."

Ji Lin quickly handed it over.

Old Mu waved it in front of him and then handed it back to him. "Go ahead. Dormitory 108 is the third room on the left on the first floor. The fourth floor and up are girls' dormitories, you can't go up there. If you're caught, you'll be expelled."

"Thank you." Zhang Lexuan bowed to Ji Lin again and then led Ji Lin toward the dormitory building.

Old Mu remained motionless in his original posture, muttering to himself, "Is this the child that Le Xuan chose? He has quite a talent, with such cultivation at such a young age, and he also has an ultimate attribute martial soul. He is quite a good match for Le Xuan. It's just a pity about Bei Bei ε=(ο`*))) Alas."

Since Zhang Lexuan returned from the Star Dou Great Forest, she had a serious talk with Elder Mu. She apologized to Elder Mu and asked for his forgiveness for not being able to keep her promise to him.

Elder Mu readily agreed, telling Zhang Lexuan not to feel burdened by it. In fact, Elder Mu had been regretting the promise he had made to Zhang Lexuan in recent years. He knew about Bei Bei and Tang Ya's affair, and it was he who had asked Bei Bei to approach Tang Ya in order to help the Tang Clan.

He just didn't expect Beibei and Tang Ya to get together so quickly. He was worried that Zhang Lexuan would not be able to let go and would get stuck in a rut.

He really wanted Zhang Lexuan to give up that promise, but as someone who had been through it all, he knew very well that he couldn't interfere in the emotional entanglements between young people, nor did he know how to do so.

Now that Zhang Lexuan has come to terms with things and understood them, he is happy to grant her wish.

Beibei was unaware of his engagement with Zhang Lexuan from beginning to end, so let's just pretend that engagement never happened.

Just then, several more freshmen walked by, but they clearly didn't notice the old man by the building entrance and went straight in. The old man didn't stop them; he just sat there, seemingly dozing off.

"Sister Lexuan, who was that old man just now?"

On the way, Ji Lin asked Zhang Lexuan. Although he knew Mu En's identity, there were still some things he wanted to ask.

"That's a senior member of the academy. Just be polite to him when you see him in the future, and don't bother him."

Zhang Lexuan shook her head.

Following Elder Mu's instructions, the two quickly found Ji Lin's dormitory. The student dormitory was a dormitory building with long corridors and individual dormitory doors on both sides, each with a number. It was clear that the dormitory building was quite old, having been in use for many years. At the end of each side of the corridor was a communal restroom.

They unlocked the door with their key, and a rush of somewhat stale air escaped. The two quickly stepped aside, waited a moment, then held their breath and rushed in to open the window. The room hadn't been lived in for at least a month. It was covered in a layer of dust.

While the windows were open for ventilation, Ji Lin also got a good look at the layout of the dormitory.

The dormitory was small, only about ten square meters. Two beds took up most of the space, and besides that, there was only a table and two metal wardrobes. There was a light on the ceiling, and several metal protrusions on the walls. The light was a simple soul tool that required soul power to be injected to light up. Those metal protrusions were where soul power was injected.

After a short period of ventilation, the stale air in the dormitory finally cleared up. Looking at the messy dormitory, Ji Lin was exasperated. Shrek Academy, as the number one academy on the continent, had built such a small dormitory. Clearly, it was another example of the traditional virtues of Flander, the first dean of Shrek Academy.

Seeing Ji Lin's furrowed brows, Zhang Lexuan smiled gently.

"Let me clean up your dorm room for you."

"Thank you so much, Sister Lexuan. It's a good thing you were here, otherwise it would have been really troublesome."

Ji Lin took out some cleaning supplies from his storage soul tool, and the two began cleaning the dormitory.

In just half an hour, with Zhang Lexuan's help, all the hard-to-reach corners were cleaned spotlessly. Although everything in the dormitory was still simple, it had a fresher feel to it.

After the cleaning was finished, Zhang Lexuan prepared to take Ji Lin to the cafeteria for something to eat.

Each grade has its own cafeteria, located behind the dormitory area.

The two arrived at the freshman cafeteria, which was quite empty at the moment as there weren't many people there.

There wasn't a single table or chair; it was completely empty, with only a sink for washing hands and utensils on one side. Inside were the food windows, each displaying its price. There were eight windows in total, each offering different dishes, with prices increasing from right to left.

There's not even a place to sit in the cafeteria? And there's a sign at the entrance that says food is not allowed to be taken out of the cafeteria.

Ji Lin was utterly speechless at Shrek Academy's actions; Flander's spirit had remained unchanged for millennia.

After a brief moment of surprise, Ji Lin went to the most expensive window and bought two servings of soul beast meat with vegetables. After the two finished their simple meal, they left the cafeteria.

"Xiao Lin, that's enough for today. I'm going back to the inner courtyard. If you need anything later, come find me there."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work today, Sister Lexuan."

After saying goodbye to Ji Lin, Zhang Lexuan returned to the inner courtyard alone.

Ji Lin returned to his dormitory and took out his personal belongings and bedding from his soul tool. These were all high-end items that Xu Jiujiu had prepared for him.

After laying out the bedding, Ji Lin saw that there was nothing else to do, so he prepared to cultivate.

Suddenly he looked at the wooden bed opposite him, wondering who his roommate was.

"Could it be Princess Tang? I don't want to live with her, or I'll be targeted by the God King Tang, although he probably doesn't have time to care about Princess Tang right now."

"I wonder if she will come to Shrek Academy. I wonder if she has taken human form and become the way I remember her because of my wicked sense of humor."

He clearly remembered the appearance of the most beautiful girl in his heart in the memory he had fabricated using the Feather Dust technique. In fact, it was the same as Wang Qiu'er in the original work, and even her name was Wang Qiu'er. He was looking forward to seeing the scene of Wang Dong'er meeting Wang Qiu'er.

Thinking of this, Ji Lin revealed a wicked smile.
