Old Xu then asked the giant carp, "You're Zhang Feng? How...how can you expect me to believe that?"

The giant carp said, "I am indeed Zhang Feng. As for how I turned into a fish, I can't explain it, and telling you wouldn't help. But you must save me; I'm about to die!"

Old Xu said, "Alright, tell me, how can I save you?"

The big carp said, "I was caught in the river by Sun the Cripple from the east end of your town. He's going to make me into salted fish at 9:30 tomorrow morning. You must find a way to buy me before 9:30. I'm mixed in with several other big carp in a bucket. The one with the scar on its head is me. Remember that, remember that!"

As he spoke, he swam away, swaying gently in the air.

Old Xu struggled to sit up, his body covered in cold sweat. He then realized it was a dream, but... the dream was so vivid, it felt like it had really happened.

He's a very difficult person to deal with. If you dare to touch a single feather in his house, he'll get furious with you. If you're talking about who in town can control him, it's only the old rascal Xu from his younger days.

When Old Xu arrived at Sun the Cripple's house, he peeked inside and was stunned. Sun the Cripple was indeed killing fish, wearing an apron and holding a cleaver. He had already slaughtered two fish, and the chopping board was covered in blood and looked filthy.

Old Xu's heart pounded. He glanced at his old pocket watch; it was exactly 9:30. He rushed inside, yelling, "Hey, you cripple Sun, wait a minute!"

Just as Sun the Cripple was about to lose his temper, he saw it was him and immediately put on a smiling face. "Uncle Xu, what brings you here?"

Old Xu ignored him, feeling a sudden dryness in his mouth. He walked over and looked into the bucket of fish next to him. There were still three large carp inside that hadn't been killed. One of them had a scar on its head, as if it had been broken by something, leaving a dent.

Old Xu was struck dumb; his dream had actually come true! This was unbelievable!

He pointed to the large carp with a scar on its head, "I'll buy this one!"

Sun the Cripple was taken aback. "This fish's head is rotten. I don't know if it's sick. Should I get you a different one?"

Old Xu got anxious, "I want this one!"

Carrying the bucket full of fish back home, Old Xu still felt dazed. He kept glancing at the motionless carp in the bucket, not knowing how to describe his feelings. What was going on? It was truly a ghostly experience!

He simply squatted down beside the bucket and asked, "Are you Zhang Feng?"

That fish wags its tail; it can't speak.

Old Xu said again, "Boss Zhang, say something!"

The fish didn't say anything, but his daughter-in-law, who was passing by, heard it and immediately yelled, "Come quick! Dad's gone mad, he's talking to the fish!"

His family rushed over in a panic, trying to take Old Xu to the hospital. Old Xu panicked, yelling, "Don't you dare touch me! Drive to Willow Town, I'm going to find someone! And nobody touches this fish, or I'll kill them!"

Old Xu still held a high position in the family. Seeing him lose his temper, the family members let go and didn't dare to talk back. The eldest son quickly slunk away to get the car.

The father and son rushed to Willow Town and went straight to Zhang Feng's mansion, only to find Zhang Feng practicing Tai Chi in the yard. He was very polite to Old Man Xu when he arrived.

Old Xu slapped his forehead. What a mess! It was a misunderstanding, just a coincidence!

Back home, looking at the big carp, Old Xu felt it was fate. There happened to be a pond in the backyard, and the water was quite deep, so he casually threw the carp in.

The big carp fell silent, wagged its tail quietly, and walked away.

Strangely enough, the big carp, which had been submerged at the bottom of the water, suddenly surfaced after he finished speaking, shaking its head and wagging its tail and blowing bubbles. Then it swam back down, as if responding to him, leaving the old man Xu completely bewildered.

Nothing was said that day.

That night, Old Xu went to bed feeling uneasy, wondering if the big carp would appear in his dreams again. With something on his mind, he tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep. He finally drifted off in the middle of the night.

Just as I fell asleep, the big carp appeared again, looking fierce, and said, "Didn't you say you wanted to talk things out with me? Why did it take you so long?"

Old Xu had no idea what this giant carp was, and said with a pounding heart, "Well, here it is, tell me."

The big carp snorted and said, "Uncle Xu, you have to believe me, I really am Zhang Feng. I was harmed by a monster. You have to be a good person to the end."

Old Xu was a little confused. "What monster? What should I do?"

The big carp said, "I heard that there's a nunnery on Mount Maguqing, and a very powerful nun named Qingyang lives there. Try to invite her over tomorrow, and I'll talk to her about it myself!"

He said this and walked away, wagging his tail.

When Old Xu woke up the next morning, he felt very unwell, his head was spinning, and he thought about how bizarre and strange things had happened in the past two days. He felt like he was going to go crazy if things continued like this.

Remembering what the big carp said in my dream last night, I thought to myself that I really should go to the nunnery. Even if I don't ask the nun to come, I should at least ask her to enlighten me.
