The ultimate master in the city

Chapter 205 Su Sungua Repays Kindness

Old Liu understood that Master Ziyun's method had worked; the female ghost must have mistaken the paper figure for herself!

From that day on, all was peaceful. When he was busy, Old Liu farmed the mountain land, and when he was free, he made handicrafts to sell. At first, he still thought about Su Sungua, wondering where the boy had gone and how he was doing. Later, he heard nothing from him, so he gradually stopped mentioning it.

Seven years passed like this. In the eighth year, Old Liu fell seriously ill. Before he died, he held Liu Zhenguo's hand and said, "Son, you are over thirty years old. You are unwilling to learn bamboo weaving and you are not good at anything. I gave all my life savings to Su Sungua and there is no money left over in the past few years. What will you do after I am gone?"

Liu Zhenguo didn't care. He said that I was all set for myself and had no family to worry about, so I was relaxed and carefree. Besides, Uncle Gua might have made a fortune somewhere and would take me to live a good life when he came back.

When Old Liu saw his son was so hopeless and irresponsible, he tilted his head and died.

After burying his father, Liu Zhenguo felt much more relaxed being alone; he could eat his fill and then sleep, and sleep his fill and then eat again.

But there's always a time when you can't live off your savings. The little money Old Liu left behind was quickly spent, and with nowhere to eat, he started mooching off his neighbors. After managing to mooch off them for a few meals, he was kicked out with a string of curses, and his reputation was ruined.

Finally, when he was starving and had no other choice, he heard that the neighboring village was transporting timber out of the village and needed manpower, and that they would provide food and lodging. So he scratched his head and went to apply for the job. They saw that he was young and strong and immediately hired him to work.

That day, he was with a group of people riding wheelbarrows, pulling timber down the mountain. As they were about to leave the mountainous area, it was a foggy day and the ground was slippery. One of the wheelbarrows behind them lost control and rolled down the mountain. The people in front saw this and realized that someone was going to die, so they quickly scattered.

Well, that's what happened. Hundreds of tons of timber collided and rolled down the ravine.

The timber boss quickly organized a team to go down and retrieve the timber, but the ravine was too deep and the slope too steep, making it impossible for manpower to do.

After several unsuccessful attempts, the timber boss squatted on the edge of the ravine, smoking a cigarette, looking utterly dejected. A group of workers looked at each other, not daring to say a word.

Liu Zhenguo didn't care. It wasn't his family's property. As long as they provided food today, that was fine. At that moment, he felt the urge to urinate, so he ran to the side to pee. When he was halfway through urinating, he suddenly heard a woman's laughter coming from the thick fog in front of him.

Liu Zhenguo found it strange; where did this woman come from? Her voice was quite pleasant.

Even in broad daylight, with a large group of men behind him, he wasn't afraid. He pulled up his pants and went to investigate.

After climbing over a hill, a small pavilion appeared ahead, where two girls of about sixteen or seventeen were playing and laughing.

The two young girls had slim waists and big hips, and were quite pretty, which was extremely attractive to Liu Zhenguo, a bachelor in his thirties.

He crept over quietly, hid behind a clump of grass to peek, and was enjoying the view when suddenly a person walked over from the other side of the pavilion. The person looked vaguely familiar.

The two little girls immediately became obedient upon seeing this man, kneeling to one side without daring to move, and even calling him "Sir".

The man patted their heads, smiled in Liu Zhenguo's direction, and said, "Zhenguo, you're here now, why are you hiding and afraid to face people?"

Liu Zhenguo was startled. Was this person calling him? He squinted and took a closer look at the person's face, then jumped up.

This guy is actually Su Sungua! Wasn't he supposed to be out of town making his fortune? What's he doing here?

Liu Zhenguo ran out and asked in confusion, "Uncle Gua! What are you doing here?"

Su Sungua smiled and said, "I've always been here!"

Liu Zhenguo was furious and cursed, "You damn Su Sungua, we gave you all our savings and told you to run away, and you actually bought two young girls and ran off to live in seclusion here. Living a good life, huh? Having fun with those two girls stripping naked at night, huh?"

His words were laced with anger and sourness.

"You little rascal!" Su Sungua said, both amused and exasperated, "It's a long story. How's your father?"

Liu Zhenguo said, "How dare you mention my father? He's been dead for two years, and he was still talking about you on his deathbed!"

Upon hearing this, Su Sungua burst into tears, saying, "I'm so sorry, Brother Liu! I'm not human! I shouldn't have been so greedy for cultivation! I'm too ashamed to go see him!"

"What the hell is cultivation?" Liu Zhenguo was completely confused. He turned to look at the two girls again and was shocked to find them gone in the blink of an eye. "This...this..."

Su Sungua wiped away her tears and said, "You wouldn't understand even if I told you. I owe your father a debt I could never repay in two lifetimes. Zhenguo, tell me, what do you want? I'll give you anything!"

"You said it yourself!" Liu Zhenguo's mind raced, and he said, "I want money, lots of money. I want to live in a big house, play with beautiful women, and drive a luxury car!"

Su Sungua frowned, thought for a moment, and said, "Okay! But we have to take it one step at a time. The timber boss outside is very wealthy; it will all be yours in the future. Let me tell you..."

He whispered a few words to Liu Zhenguo, and then disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Liu Zhenguo scratched his head, walked out of the hill, ran to the timber boss, coughed, and said, "Boss! It's not difficult to get this timber up here; I can handle it."

The timber merchant vaguely remembered him; seeing his thick eyebrows and large eyes, he thought he was a capable person and said, "What's your plan? Tell me. If you can get all the timber up for me, I'll reward you handsomely!"

Remembering Su Sungua's words, Liu Zhenguo said, "This method is a bit mysterious. It's a family secret, and we can't let others know about it. You guys wait at the foot of the mountain, and I'll bring it all up for you tonight."

The timber merchant was skeptical, but since he had no other choice, he decided to trust him for a while and led his men down the mountain to wait.

Liu Zhenguo sat atop the hill, looking down into the valley below, feeling frustrated. What could Su Sungua possibly do? He mentioned cultivation… Could it be that he'd run off to the mountains to become an immortal like those characters in stories? Or was he just bragging to me?

They waited anxiously until nightfall, when suddenly a dark, fierce wind swept through the valley, so strong that they couldn't even open their eyes.

Liu Zhenguo, unaware of what was happening, ran to the side and hid. Ten minutes later, a loud shout suddenly came from the foot of the mountain. Soon, the timber boss came running up, his eyes wide, and patted him on the shoulder as soon as he saw him, "Little brother, you're awesome! You're incredibly impressive!"

Liu Zhenguo was completely bewildered. "What's wrong?"

The timber merchant chuckled and said, "Still pretending with me? The timber's already rolled down the mountain. Tell me, what reward do you want?"

Liu Zhenguo was feeling dizzy. Following Su Sungua's instructions, he said, "I don't want anything else, I just want to work as a security guard at your house. I'll help out with anything else when I'm free!"

Without a word, the timber boss nodded in agreement.

……

Liu Zhenguo went to the city with the timber boss. The timber boss kept his word and really made him a security guard. He helped move timber whenever he had free time, and the boss provided food and lodging. The treatment was very good.

To be honest, Liu Zhenguo was already very satisfied at this point, thinking to himself that Su Sungua really kept his word.

That evening, after collecting his wages, he went out to buy some drinks. While walking, he suddenly got lost. It was pitch black all around, and he had no idea where he was. Just as he was wondering what to do, Su Sungua swayed towards him and asked, "Zhenguo, how are you?"

Upon seeing this, Liu Zhenguo exclaimed, "Uncle Gua, not bad! You get to eat meat every day!"

Su Sungua chuckled and said, "What's this? It's just the beginning. Do you want a wife?"

Liu Zhenguo swallowed hard and said, "Of course I want to! How could I not?"

Su Sungua said, "Easy! Your boss has an only daughter, only 22 years old, very beautiful, and a college student. Unfortunately, she fell ill three years ago and became a vegetable. I'll teach you a way to cure her, but when your boss asks what kind of payment you want, just tell him you want to marry his daughter, otherwise you won't save her!"

Liu Zhenguo was taken aback. He had heard about the boss's daughter and even seen her once; she was indeed beautiful. He asked, "Is it possible?"

Su Sungua said with a smile, "Uncle will help you, it'll definitely work!"
