Chapter 76 Zhang Lingling is here

"You seem very nervous?"

Han Feng looked at Ning Rongrong with a puzzled expression and asked strangely.

Ever since leaving Shrek Academy, Ning Rongrong had been very reserved, her eyes constantly darting around, and an unnatural blush always on her pretty face, which was quite adorable.

"Ah!?" Hearing Han Feng's words, Ning Rongrong realized her own strangeness, her face turning even redder. She quickly waved her hands, saying in a way that seemed to say, "No! No! I'm not nervous, how could I be nervous? What is there to be nervous about?"

Ning Rongrong's acting skills weren't good, at least not in front of Han Feng. Han Feng saw through her attempt to cover it up at a glance, but seeing her resistance, he didn't press the matter and casually changed the subject: "Your family's bodyguards should be nearby right now, right?"

Upon hearing this, Ning Rongrong frowned and said hesitantly, "I'm not sure either, but I think it should be there..."

Recalling Han Feng's reaction when he saw her bodyguards last time, Ning Rongrong quickly said, "If you don't like it, I can have them leave first. As long as you're here, we won't be in danger!"

"There's no need for that!" Han Feng shook his head. "After all, they were sent by your family to protect you."

This only confused Ning Rongrong more: "Aren't you worried?"

Han Feng countered, "What am I worried about?"

"It's... like that time, all the things you were worried about." Ning Rongrong was referring to what happened two months ago, when the two first met at the hotel.

Han Feng then realized what was going on, waved his hand, and said nonchalantly, "It's been two months, and your family hasn't contacted me. I guess your words still have some effect. Besides, we've fought a few battles together, so we're practically partners now, right? There's no need to be so suspicious, is there?"

When Ning Rongrong heard the word "partner," her eyes dimmed slightly, but Han Feng's change in attitude was obvious to all—at least Han Feng no longer looked at her with cold or indifferent eyes!

This discovery revitalized Ning Rongrong.

But Ning Rongrong quickly recalled what Han Feng had said at the victory celebration banquet after defeating the Berserker team, and felt somewhat discouraged. Looking at Han Feng's profile, she tentatively asked, "Han Feng! You said we're partners now, right!?"

"Isn't that right?" Han Feng frowned, his eyes turning cold again.

Seeing this, Ning Rongrong quickly waved her hand, "It's not what you think!"

"What I mean is, since we're partners, can you call me Rongrong?" Ning Rongrong looked at Han Feng expectantly, her eyes filled with nervousness and anticipation.

"Huh?" Han Feng opened his mouth in surprise, "Didn't I call you Rongrong?"

Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes, mimicking Han Feng's gesture, and said with a mix of playfulness and melancholy, "No! You've called me Zhuqing and Xiaowu, but you've never called me that!"

Han Feng felt a little embarrassed upon hearing this, as he hadn't really noticed that: "So, what do I usually call you?"

"Young Miss, Little Witch, Ning Rongrong, or just 'you'..." Ning Rongrong smiled, a hint of bitterness in her expression.

Han Feng scratched his head sheepishly, feeling rather embarrassed—it was as awkward as having been classmates for two months without ever calling them by name.

"Okay, okay, Rongrong! I understand!"

The word "Rongrong" immediately brought a smile to Ning Rongrong's face, as sweet as if she had eaten honey.

Ning Rongrong also wanted to call Han Feng "Xiao Feng" like the "Sister Qianqian" Han Feng mentioned, but she knew that Han Feng would definitely not agree. Even though Han Feng was a few days younger than Ning Rongrong, he would not allow her to call him Xiao Feng. So Ning Rongrong didn't plan to bring it up at all, so as not to make Han Feng dislike her.

She was already very satisfied that Han Feng could call her "Rongrong"!

Watching Ning Rongrong fluctuate between sadness and joy, Han Feng didn't quite understand what she was thinking, but seeing the cheerful smile on her face improved his mood considerably.

Han Feng wasn't in a hurry, and Ning Rongrong also wanted to walk with Han Feng a little longer, so neither of them walked very fast. By the time they arrived in Soto City, it was already noon.

"Let's go! Let's go eat first! I'll go to the Soul Arena this afternoon!" Han Feng invited Ning Rongrong, seeing that it was lunchtime.

Ning Rongrong was eager to have dinner with Han Feng, so she readily agreed, "Okay, okay!"

"Feng'er!?"

When Han Feng and Ning Rongrong arrived at the restaurant entrance, a surprised voice rang out behind them.

Han Feng and Ning Rongrong turned around subconsciously and saw a figure rushing towards Han Feng. Han Feng instinctively wanted to dodge, but fortunately, he reacted quickly enough. After seeing the figure's face, he smiled helplessly, opened his arms, and hugged the figure.

"Feng'er! I miss you so much!" The figure also hugged Han Feng tightly, lightly touching Han Feng's brow with her red lips, and said with a mixture of pity and tenderness.

Han Feng smiled helplessly, letting this person do as they pleased.

Upon seeing this scene, Ning Rongrong's beautiful eyes almost spit fire, and a strong sense of hostility rose in her heart.

The person hugging Han Feng wasn't stunningly beautiful, but she was still quite attractive, possessing a mature charm that Ning Rongrong lacked. Ning Rongrong almost subconsciously mistook her for the "Sister Qianqian" Han Feng had mentioned, and tried to keep her tone calm as she asked, "Who are you?! Can't you see Han Feng is uncomfortable?"

Han Feng was being held by that person and couldn't see Ning Rongrong's expression, but that person could see it clearly—although Ning Rongrong was still smiling, her eyes were slightly narrowed, and there was almost black mist rising behind her. The way she looked at her was as unfriendly as if she were looking at a stray cat that had stolen fish!

This discovery greatly surprised the woman. Having been through similar experiences, she quickly understood the situation. A sly glint flashed in her eyes, and she hugged Han Feng even tighter, almost melding him into her arms. Half-amused and half-provoking, she said to Ning Rongrong, "Who said that?! Feng'er is very comfortable! And... Feng'er loves being held by me!"

Han Feng dared not resist. Suppressing his discomfort, he forced himself to say, "Yes, yes, yes! You're absolutely right!"

"You!" Ning Rongrong was both embarrassed and angry, not expecting her to say that. "What kind of nonsense is this, hugging and kissing in broad daylight?!"

Seeing that Ning Rongrong had reached her limit, the man stopped teasing her. He smiled knowingly, feigning confusion, and asked, "But I am Feng'er's mother... Is it not allowed for a mother to hold her son?"

At that moment, Han Feng managed to catch his breath and seized the opportunity to say, "Mom! I can't breathe!"

"Oh, oh!" Zhang Lingling chuckled, letting Han Feng go. She extended a hand to Ning Rongrong and smiled, "Let me introduce myself. I'm Han Feng's mother, Zhang Lingling. You must be Han Feng's classmate at Shrek Academy, right? It's nice to meet you!"

"Mom?" Ning Rongrong glanced at Zhang Lingling, then at Han Feng, and realized that the two looked remarkably alike. Her pretty face flushed crimson, and she almost broke out in a daze. Gone was the slightest hint of hostility. She quickly reached out her hand and said nervously, "Aunt Zhang... oh no! Sister! My name is Ning Rongrong, and I'm Han Feng's classmate!"

Hearing Ning Rongrong call her "sister," Zhang Lingling smiled even more broadly: "Oh my! Rongrong has such a sweet tongue!"

Han Feng rolled his eyes. He dared not reveal Zhang Lingling's real age, and simply asked, "Mom, what are you doing in Soto City?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Lingling immediately put on a resentful expression: "Does Mom miss you?! Who told my darling to come all this way to school?! It's been two months, and you haven't even sent a letter home. I think your dad was right, you just think we're old and annoying..."

Han Feng quickly begged for mercy: "How could I dare! It's just that school just started recently, I've been busy!"

After saying that, Han Feng gave Ning Rongrong a pleading look. Ning Rongrong immediately understood and chimed in, "That's right! We just started school and have been cultivating and practicing Soul Battles. In just two months, we've already earned Silver Soul Battle Badges!"

"Oh?" Zhang Lingling wasn't some clueless woman. As Han Dang's wife, she knew very well the value of the Silver Battle Soul Badge. She looked at Han Feng with surprise, then stopped dwelling on the previous topic and smiled, "My son is amazing!"

Seeing Han Feng's relieved expression, Ning Rongrong chuckled to herself—it really is true that one thing can subdue another!

"Mom, you haven't eaten either, have you? Let's eat first, and we can talk about it while we eat!" Han Feng suggested.

They'd been standing at the restaurant entrance for two or three minutes already, and the smiles on the greeters' faces were practically frozen.

"Mom is Mom! Why add 'old' to it? Am I that old?" To everyone's surprise, Zhang Lingling slapped Han Feng on the head and glared at him with displeasure.

What could Han Feng say? He quickly forced a smile and said again, "Mom! Let's eat first!"

"That's more like it!" Zhang Lingling snorted, grabbed Ning Rongrong's hand, and said to Ning Rongrong, "Come on! Rongrong, let's go eat!"

Ning Rongrong naturally wouldn't refuse; she couldn't wait to get even closer to Zhang Lingling!

Han Feng, watching the two figures from behind, couldn't understand when they had become so close. He could only scratch his head and follow them.
