Naruto: The Uchiha Calabash Brothers are reshaping the ninja world
Chapter 20 Contradiction, Sand Ninja
"A madman? A demon?"
Mo repeated the sentence with a cold smile, and took the ninja sword back from Kurenai's hand.
He pointed his long sword diagonally at the ground and took a step closer to Asma, blood dripping down the blade onto the soil.
Upon seeing this, Asuma swallowed hard and unconsciously took a half step back. The next moment, Uchiha Sumi stopped in his tracks, looked at Asuma, and raised his hand to swing his knife at the bandit lying on the ground.
"Pfft!"
After a crisp, strange sound, a head flew off. Then, Mo swung his ninja sword again, and another head flew high into the air!
On the other side, Asuma felt a surge of nausea upon seeing this cruel scene, and he frowned deeply, but at the same time, he unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.
"Heh~"
Uchiha Mo saw Asuma's reaction clearly, a mocking smile appeared on his lips, and he swung his sword, Blood Shake.
"Weren't you supposed to pity these scum? Why didn't you stop me? Why did you look relieved after realizing my target wasn't you but these scum? You disobeyed orders simply because you couldn't bring yourself to do it?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Asuma froze, opened his mouth as if to say something but didn't know how to start, and finally could only lower his head with a pale face.
Mo chuckled and slowly sheathed his ninja sword.
"Just do it, or I'll kill you if you keep talking nonsense!"
As he spoke, Mo's eyes sharpened, turning crimson, and a chilling killing intent burst forth from his body!
Sarutobi Asuma's body trembled, as if his heart had skipped a beat.
"This guy... isn't joking..."
Asuma gritted his teeth, his hand holding the kunai trembling violently. His breathing became rapid, and driven by overwhelming fear, he crouched down and, trembling, plunged the kunai into the heart of an unconscious bandit.
"Pfft!"
"Pfft!"
……
Following Asuma's actions, the three of them sprang into action. Seeing this, Mo also withdrew his murderous aura, and his eyes returned to their clean black color.
Terada Yusuke swallowed hard, his face pale. Although he looked terrible, there was little fear on his face.
"Sir...aren't you afraid of leaving these children with psychological trauma from such drastic measures?"
As the Foreign Minister, Terada Yusuke had a broad perspective for an ordinary person, and he knew about some of the ninja's training for "bloody missions".
Mo glanced at Terada Yusuke but didn't reply.
He wasn't some kind of patient and persuasive life mentor. The only reason he was willing to become a Jonin leader was because he wanted to gain more freedom in the subsequent Third Shinobi World War. So naturally, he wouldn't spend his time helping them grow smoothly.
Fifteen minutes later, none of the bandits on the ground had survived, and the three members of Class 8, who had originally been flushed and excited, had become as wilted as eggplants after a frost.
Mo ignored them and directed the team to continue along the original route.
As he moved forward, he constantly used his clairvoyance to scan his surroundings, trying to understand the tragic state of the villages he had previously witnessed and the reasons for the turmoil in the Land of Rain.
However, as the group continued deeper into the Land of Rain, Mo discovered no further clues.
As night fell, the group ventured deep into the Land of Rain and rested at an inn within its borders.
The bright moon hung high in the sky, and it had become completely dark.
Uchiha Mo lay on his bed in the dormitory, his chest rising and falling gently, his breathing long and regular, clearly having fallen into a deep sleep.
"Squeak~"
Suddenly, the wooden door to the dormitory was pushed open a crack.
The boy lying on the bed suddenly opened his scarlet eyes. Almost at the same moment, he raised his right hand and summoned a kunai from the scroll on his wrist and threw it out!
"Whoosh!"
"Ding~"
Outside the door, Kurenai Yuhi stood frozen in place. A silver blade protruded from behind the door, only centimeters away from her pupils. She swallowed hard, but still mustered her courage and pushed the door open.
"Mo...I...I...I'm a little scared...Can I..."
The girl, clutching a pillow and dressed in pajamas, stood uneasily at the doorway. The room was pitch black, except for a pair of scarlet Sharingan eyes that shone with a blood-red light in the darkness.
Mo glanced at the sunset glow by the door for a while, then lay back down on the bed without saying a word, and the room fell into silence.
With her pearly white teeth lightly biting her lip, she stood there, unsure whether to move forward or backward.
The events of the day had a great psychological impact on her, and almost every time she closed her eyes at night, the terrified deaths of the bandits would appear in her mind.
Unlike Asuma, perhaps because Kurenai was more mature, or perhaps it was wishful thinking, she believed that Mo did this to help them adapt to the life of a ninja more quickly. Before the mission began, Kurenai had told her to prepare herself mentally. Therefore, she didn't blame Mo for his cruelty; instead, she wondered if she had been too weak.
After a long while, Kurenai gritted her teeth, finally left the room, closed the door, and turned to walk towards her own room.
Inside the room, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly opened in the darkness. They shone on the ceiling for a while, until the footsteps in the corridor completely disappeared, before slowly going out.
……
Something seems to have really happened in the Land of Rain. During their three-day journey, Team 8 encountered several groups of bandits, most of whom were not very skilled and seemed to have only recently become outlaws.
After the baptism they experienced last time, all three of them underwent a change. During battle, they were surrounded by a chilling aura of true ninjas, and had become completely accustomed to killing.
Along the way, the group passed through a village that had been plundered by bandits. After seeing the villagers' miserable state, their last bit of pity vanished, and Asuma and Gekko Hayate's attitude towards Mo changed once again.
As the group continued their journey, they once again arrived at the border of the Land of Rain, the border with the Land of Wind...
As Mo approached the Land of Wind, he could clearly sense that there were far fewer people around, at least far fewer than when he was on his last mission.
This made Mo sense something unusual. He immediately narrowed his eyes and kept scanning his surroundings as he moved forward.
Finally, after the group passed by a dilapidated village, three familiar figures came into Mo's view.
The three people—two men with orange hair, one with medium-length red hair, and one with short light blue hair—were none other than Yahiko's trio.
They were fighting a group of ninjas wearing light yellow combat vests and white headscarves to protect their heads from the sand. Mo's gaze shifted slightly and landed on the headbands on their foreheads.
"Sunagakure ninja?"
Uchiha Mo frowned slightly, instantly thinking of the village that had been massacred before.
Mo repeated the sentence with a cold smile, and took the ninja sword back from Kurenai's hand.
