boom!

An explosion, far louder than before, occurred beneath our feet.

The entire castle trembled.

Henry stumbled and nearly crashed into a nearby pillar.

Simon's expression changed drastically.

"That direction... is the hangar!"

Henry rubbed his ears, which were still numb from the vibrations: "Hangarion?"

"The rest of the family's armed forces are probably there." Simon gripped his sword, somewhat uneasy. "There are guards, weapons, and a mechanical priest in charge."

"How could those Chaos cultists have broken in so quickly?"

Henry had intended to offer a few words of comfort.

"Relax, maybe something inside just exploded."

"Never mind what I said."

The two exchanged a glance and quickened their pace.

The closer to the bottom layer.

The stronger the burnt smell in the air, the better.

The image of flesh being burned by fire reminded Henry of over-quenched scrap steel in a blacksmith's shop.

Moving forward.

A familiar force surged into Henry's limbs without warning.

A pale blue notification box popped up on my retina.

The "Do or Die" strategy has been activated.

Henry froze. Was there an enemy?

Where is the enemy?

"Watch out!"

Several dark figures darted out from around the corner ahead.

The gunshots came even faster than Henry's warnings.

The roar of firearms echoed in the narrow passage.

The cultist at the forefront fell backward, a bullet piercing his eye socket and blooming a crimson flower of blood behind his head, killing him instantly.

The subsequent attackers showed no fear.

The bewitched madmen howled and pounced on those who had not yet fallen.

"Hold!"

Henry cursed and raised his longsword to meet the attack head-on.

The distance is too short; you can't really get into a proper swinging stance.

He simply used the longsword as a spear, thrusting it straight out with the force of his charge.

puff.

The sword pierced through the chest of a believer.

The blade pierced through the body, but the victim did not die immediately.

The madman gripped the sword blade tightly with both hands, letting blood spill from the corners of his mouth, and still swung the wooden stick at him.

"roll!"

Henry gritted his teeth and, relying on his doubled strength, pushed forward, sword and all.

The powerful force propelled the half-dead body into the enemy ranks.

The two followers behind were unable to dodge in time and were knocked to the ground on the spot.

In the chaos, the longsword slipped from his hand.

Henry had not yet gotten up.

A rusty knife was already coming straight at him.

boom!

The second bullet whistled through the air.

The cultist with the knife tilted his head back, and half of his face was instantly shattered.

The warm wreckage pressed straight down on Henry's back.

"Lower your head!"

Upon hearing Simon's shout, Henry immediately tucked his head into his breastplate.

A cold glint flashed across his scalp.

puff.

The last cultist clutched his slashed throat, kneeling on the ground, the gushing liquid staining the floor tiles beneath him red.

Simon strode forward.

He kicked away the enemy's falling weapon, and then thrust his longsword into the enemy's soft spot between the collarbone and neck, killing him instantly.

The body on the ground twitched twice and then fell silent.

The confrontation has ended.

The two leaned against the wall, trying to calm their racing hearts.

Simon backed off the cylinder and reloaded two brand-new brass bullets into the chamber.

"Now I believe what you said before."

"What did you say?"

"That line from the future."

Henry was somewhat taken aback: "Why?"

"You were able to sense the danger in advance."

"Perhaps you are an unawakened psychic, and the illusions you saw before were not illnesses, but precognitive guidance bestowed by the God-Emperor."

Henry rolled his eyes.

"It's more likely that some evil god from the subspace is trying to trick me into signing a contract of servitude."

Simon actually did think about it for a while.

"That risk certainly exists."

"Thank you."

"It's only natural."

After resting, the two continued their journey deeper into the area.

The closer you get to the hangar, the more abnormal the atmosphere becomes.

The temperature inside the corridor is rising abnormally.

Suddenly, several stumbling figures appeared ahead.

They were fleeing in the opposite direction like madmen, as if some indescribable terror was following them.

Henry was about to raise his sword to defend himself when he discovered that the fleeing man was no longer recognizable as a human.

Dark red flames clung to their robes and bodies.

The skin peeled off in large areas, and the flesh shrank and carbonized in the firelight.

The supernatural flames did not immediately rob them of their lives; instead, they forcibly kept them alive in endless torment.

"Help……"

The moment the Chaos Cultist at the forefront opened his mouth, flames shot out of his trachea.

Amidst the flickering flames, one could vaguely glimpse his face rolling about, like a soul imprisoned and burned.

The chaotic education movement, which had been burning, only took a few steps before collapsing one after another.

The remains disintegrated at a visible speed, leaving only black ash on the ground.

Simon looked very unwell.

"Too late."

Henry looked at the embers on the ground.

The blood that had seeped out around the coke had not dried; instead, it flowed backward along the cracks in the stone bricks.

It was as if some kind of magnetic field was pulling them together, causing them to converge into streams of viscous blood.

They all flow to the same destination: the hangar.

It flows toward a colossal creature taking shape in the abyss.

Simon tightened his grip on the sword.

"Their sacrifice is almost complete."

Henry fell silent.

flesh.

Fear.

Wailing and despair.

This is exactly the food that warp monsters crave most.

At this moment, the mastermind lurking in the shadows is using the lives of all the inhabitants of Carlos Castle as bargaining chips to gain the favor of the Warp.

The worst thing has finally happened.
