Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but Warhammer 40k
Chapter 22 Khorne's Blessing
With a deafening roar, the Osprey transport ship rocked violently.
After hundreds of years of silence, the main thruster was finally ignited once again, and the blazing white tail flames dispelled the darkness at the bottom.
The immense kinetic energy propelled it to break free from the ruins above, causing it to float up in a crooked and erratic manner.
Like a drunken buffalo, it staggered and lurched out of the hangar.
It first crashed into and broke half of a steel beam, then its left wing scraped against the rock face, leaving a long trail of sparks, before finally climbing up shakily.
"Holy shit!"
Henry was thrown off by the sudden acceleration and crashed into the side wall of the cockpit.
Along with them, the tentacles that surged in through the passage also suffered misfortune.
The out-of-control acceleration left the massive lump of flesh with nowhere to attach itself, and it struggled as it tumbled back into the rear cabin.
It stretched out countless tentacles, breaking through the metal walls, barely managing to maintain its enormous size.
Below, out of sight, flames raged in the ruins.
Chaos Knight raised the head to face the ascending osprey.
The machines corrupted by chaos noticed the escape of the living.
As the demon armor twisted, it created weapons that should not exist in the knight's body, and the war machine, corrupted by the warp, went into a frenzy.
The heavy armor plates on the knight's chest were forcibly torn apart to the sides, revealing the writhing tissue inside, like internal organs.
Several dark red lumps of flesh were forcibly squeezed out, and with a roar, several flesh-and-blood projectiles shot into the sky, leaving scarlet trails.
Just as the first shell was about to hit the target.
A broken steel outline suddenly appeared from the side.
The loud crash drowned out all the surrounding noise.
The last remaining guardian knights of the Carlos family launched a final charge.
Dragging its severed limbs, sparks flew from the cuts, and the overloaded reactor groaned as it crashed into the side of the Chaos Knight.
The heavy impact caused the cannon muzzle to deflect.
The first shell missed its target, the second grazed the clouds, and the third exploded with a deafening roar between the two steel behemoths.
Flames shot into the sky, and the intense heat melted the surrounding debris.
The knight's breastplate disintegrated completely in the explosion, and his right leg flew dozens of meters away.
Even with all the damage, its remaining mechanical arm still gripped the Chaos Beast's neck like an iron clamp, dragging it and itself into the depths of the burning ruins.
Inside the cramped cockpit.
The pilot's face was covered in blood, and the optical screen in front of him was shattered.
Only the warning characters continue to flash mechanically in red, awaiting a response that will never come:
[Power Core Collapses] [Life Support Terminated] [Iron Throne Forcibly Disconnected]
The pilot had long since died, and the last spirit of the machine fulfilled its master's last wish.
The two knight mechs began to disintegrate in a chain reaction of explosions. The hydraulic lines burst, and the outer armor peeled off piece by piece, leaving only a steel skeleton kneeling in the depths of the inferno, returning to death.
The Osprey was still listing heavily, its tail flames turning the night sky a fiery red.
But the struggle of trapped beasts inside the cabin has only just begun.
The passageway was filled with the remaining remains of the monster.
Henry, carrying the broken steel pipe, went to meet them.
The first blow struck, knocking the tentacles in front of it to the side.
The second blow followed immediately, with power and speed far exceeding that of ordinary people. As the iron rod fell, blood and flesh flew everywhere.
But the monster did not react to wounds of this severity.
Behind them, more deformed limbs surged forward like a resurrected swarm of snakes.
The passageway didn't leave Henry much room to maneuver.
He had just dodged a sweeping attack when another soft, spiked object darted in from a blind spot.
The sharp object pierced his left forearm, and the protruding barbs tore at his flesh.
The intense pain blurred his vision, and his weak hands could no longer grip the steel pipe. The weapon clattered to the ground, and blood trickled down his elbow.
"Hold!"
Henry gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, reluctantly backing away, but behind him was the driver's cab.
Just then, a strange, burning sensation erupted from deep within his body.
As the toxin spread, his body temperature rose and his heart rate increased.
The sound of blood rushing through the eardrums drowned out the noise from the outside world.
The pain from the penetrating wound was still vivid, every nerve dutifully issuing warnings, but his brain was filtering out the pain and transforming it into a kind of uncontrollable excitement.
Henry ignored his bleeding left hand and instead swung his right fist down to meet the spike stuck in his flesh.
With a crisp sound, the sharp spike snapped.
Black blood splattered.
The monster's mouthparts were injured, and it emitted a sharp, agonizing scream.
Henry grinned.
"Come!"
It felt as if a raging fire had been stuffed into his chest, driving him forward and burning ever brighter.
Sweat more in peacetime, bleed less in wartime!
[Unlocked]
The Strength attribute required to use all weapons has been reduced by 1 point.
System prompts at the edge of the field of view are ignored.
The monster lunged at him, and he crashed back.
The tentacle lashed his chest, leaving a bloody mark. He grabbed the tentacle with his other hand and tried to tear it off.
Even with his shoulder cut by barbs, he didn't stop.
The debris scattered on the deck became weapons.
Discarded steel pipes, maintenance wrenches, even fire extinguishers fixed to the bulkhead—whatever they could grab, they smashed onto that pile of fleshy growths.
Even the mindless subspace monster was forced to halt its advance by this frenzied attack.
boom!
When the Osprey encountered strong air currents, the ship rocked violently.
Henry slipped and slammed hard against the side armor. He spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, but immediately pushed himself up to stand up.
Blood was seeping from all the large and small wounds all over his body, but his movements not only did not slow down, but became faster and faster.
That impulse compelled him to continue forward, to tear apart all living things in his path.
Life is coming to an end, but the will to fight is higher than ever before.
Henry had a vague feeling that something was wrong.
It's like drinking too much cheap liquor, soberly watching yourself gradually spiral out of control, yet unable to stop.
Until Simon's roar came from the driver's seat ahead.
"Henry! Don't let the warp affect you!"
The movement in my hand stopped.
"What?"
"What are you laughing at?" Simon turned his head. "You've been laughing for a long time."
Henry was taken aback.
He raised his bloodied hand and touched his cheek.
The reaction from my face was indeed upward, even stretching into an exaggerated arc; my body had been unknowingly contaminated.
A bone-chilling coldness crept up my spine, finally extinguishing the burning fire in my chest.
He then realized how badly he had been feeling.
A cloud of gloom was dispelled from his mind, and some memories from his past life were awakened. He vaguely felt that he had guessed the culprit behind everything.
One of the four great gods of the warp, the lord of the bronze throne who feeds on war and blood.
terrorism.
Henry felt worse than if he had swallowed a fly, and his smile vanished.
"Blood sacrifice to the gods, skull offered as a seat."
"Can you please let me go?"
