An explosion was heard.

The entire alloy gate suddenly caved inward.

The flesh covering it was blown into countless pieces, with green pus mixed with black and red chunks of flesh splattering everywhere.

Deep inside the warehouse.

A weathered human skull lay quietly in the corner.

Its hollow eye sockets were filled with decaying mycelium.

A rat with a fleshy, warty tail was slowly emerging from its open mouth, carrying half a bone that was no longer recognizable.

I was startled by the sound of the explosion.

It trembled and darted away in terror.

Followed by.

All the creatures here have been disturbed.

Deep within the warehouse, countless flies, beetles, and unnamed strange insects, lurking in the flesh and blood, began to stir simultaneously.

A massive swarm of insects, darkening the sky, swept out from the bursting opening.

They whizzed past the three of them,

They almost coalesced into a black storm, carrying the virus with them.

Henry raised his chainsaw sword and stood at the forefront.

He let the swarm of insects fly past him, wary of a possible attack from the "big guy".

Until the last rotting fly flew out of the warehouse.

Silence returned to the interior.

Baru, holding a rifle, slowly advanced from the other side.

The gun barrel swept across the shelves, containers, and undulating lumps of flesh.

The two of them, one on the left and one on the right, searched the entire warehouse in perfect unison.

Whenever we passed an obstruction, we would first check our field of vision before continuing forward.

Baru was an experienced mercenary, and Henry learned quickly as well.

A few minutes later.

The two reunited in the center of the warehouse.

Balu finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Strange... there aren't any particularly dangerous guys inside."

"Perhaps they've already been here..."

Baru then noticed that Henry had been looking up.

Follow his gaze.

A huge hole has been corroded into the top of the warehouse, and it's unclear when it happened.

The edges looked as if they had been dissolved by strong acid, leaving large areas of blackened corrosion marks.

Green venom dripped slowly down the hole.

That hole...

Enough for several demons the size of rotting flies to pass through at the same time.

But now the warehouse is completely empty.

There was nothing there.

"They've been gone for a long time."

Henry said slowly.

"This is just an abandoned nest."

"What we're looking for can't be here."

Balu touched his chin.

"Hopefully these guys don't have a homing instinct, but we shouldn't have come for nothing."

After confirming there was no danger, he finally slung the rifle back over his shoulder.

They began to rummage through the warehouse with great interest.

While prying open the cabinet door, he casually remarked:

"Have I told you this before, Henry? Actually, I used to live in a wild world."

The doctor was taken aback.

"you?"

"Um."

Balu lifted the lid of a rusted box.

"There's a strange, carnivorous bird in that area."

"As long as they hatch in one place, no matter how far they are driven away later, they can eventually fly back on their own."

"We can find it even if it's hundreds or thousands of kilometers away."

"The locals call them vengeful reapers..."

The doctor, thinking of the departing monster, was startled.

While keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings, he asked:

"What happened to that planet later?"

Balu stopped moving.

Then, as if nothing had happened, he continued searching.

"They owe the empire far too much tax."

"Then I escaped."

"Eh!"

Balu suddenly shouted happily.

"Look what I found!"

He pulled out several rusty metal cans from deep inside the shelf.

I wiped it with my sleeve.

"There are still intact cans."

The doctor leaned over for a look; the lettering on the jar was already blurred.

However, the production date is still faintly discernible.

"Three hundred years ago..."

Balu grinned.

"It's still edible—"

He was only halfway through his sentence.

His movements suddenly stopped.

The smooth metal surface of the can reflected the top of his head.

There……

There seems to be a greenish-brown thing.

Balu frowned.

"Is the mirror surface scratched?"

He raised his sleeve and wiped the can vigorously again.

The reflection became clearer.

That's not a stain.

It is an eye.

A single, enormous, pale green eye.

She was staring at him intently.

"……Hold."

boom!

The fleshy membrane covering the top of his head suddenly burst open.

A humanoid creature with one eye and one horn swooped down from the ceiling, its open mouth filled with canine teeth and its body dripping with foul-smelling pus.

Balu almost instinctively leaned backward.

Using both hands and feet, he scrambled out onto the slimy ground.

The monster missed its target.

As soon as its limbs touched the ground, it let out an excited cry and pounced on Balu again.

But what awaited it was a knight in armor.

The saw teeth roared.

Henry was already blocking its path of attack.

The chainsaw sword slashed out at him.

The monster didn't even have time to turn before it crashed headfirst into the rapidly spinning saw teeth.

Green and black blood splattered everywhere.

It remained in a pouncing posture as the chainsaw cleaved it cleanly in two, from its head down to its hips.

The two halves of the corpse flew past Henry's body, crashed heavily to the ground, and twitched a few times before finally coming to rest.

With its death.

Strange noises began to emanate from around Henry and the others.

Something is trying to crawl out of the wall...
