Chapter 83 Obstruction
Agrius, the withered overlord.
This name once belonged to a great warrior of an empire.
One of the Imperial Angels.
Now, it belongs only to a messenger awaiting the harvest in the loving father's garden.
Deep within the Hall of Corruption, the enormous throne was covered by countless mycelia and flesh.
Thick pus slowly flowed through the gaps in the steel.
The decaying spores floated in the air, each diffusion accompanied by a subtle whisper.
On the throne, Agrius's massive body was connected to the hall.
Countless thick, fleshy tentacles emerged from the gaps in his armor, piercing into the flesh behind him and continuously channeling power from the warp into his body.
Behind his head, a mass of tissue composed of pustules and hyphae had covered most of the area.
That was a connection given to him by the devil.
This allows him to more clearly perceive the changes in the Crown of Corruption and more easily enter that real dream.
He heard Nurgle's laughter, but he could not get to his father's pot.
Monk Morger, the Corrupted Bell Monk, knelt in the center of the hall, the giant bell emitting a dull thud as he shook it.
"Agrius, he has broken through."
"Our attempts to stop him did not save him."
Moerger let out a hoarse laugh.
"That Blood God's favorite is more tenacious than we expected."
"And that unknown demon—it now appears to be part of the Blood God faction as well."
The other plague warriors in the hall were quite dissatisfied with what the corrupt monk had said.
A putrid aura emanated from their armor.
"Blood God's lackeys—they want to steal the Father's gift."
Agrius did not respond immediately; his consciousness remained connected to the altar.
The crown of corruption is awakening.
And he needs time—a lot of time—
Now, no one knows how much time he has left.
After a moment, he finally spoke.
"The ceremony cannot be stopped; I must stay here."
"It will eventually belong to me—but—"
His voice came from inside the armor, like the simultaneous vibration of countless rotting lungs.
"Someone needs to stop that Blood God's hound."
One of the plague warriors has begun to walk out.
"Then kill him."
"Since he was also chosen, the Crown of Corruption will naturally belong to us once he dies."
The voice just fell.
His body suddenly convulsed violently.
An unsettling squeaking sound emanated from inside the rotting armor.
Numerous mycelia emerged from the gaps in his armor and wrapped around his limbs.
He knelt down on the ground.
"ah----"
A painful sound came from inside the helmet, and Agrippa's gaze fell on him.
"Have you forgotten? The gifts our loving father bestows upon us must wait."
"The Crown of Corruption represents the will of the benevolent father."
"I will kill him myself—after I don the crown, I will prove to it that I am the most suitable master."
The plague warrior struggled.
"But—he will ruin the ceremony."
Agrius did not answer.
The bacteria in the hall began to grow rapidly, and the soldier's pain intensified accordingly.
Moerger's voice came from the side.
"You are afraid of failure."
The corrupt cultivator slowly stood up.
"Agrius".
"You wish for the name of the Pale King to be remembered again by the material world."
"You hope to use the Crown of Corruption to prove that your past failures were just a mistake."
Moerge dragged the bronze bell closer, its sound echoing through the hall.
"But your anger shouldn't involve others."
"A loving father will not allow a child to destroy the whole garden just because he is afraid of losing the fruit."
