I made up magic and taught a world-destroying witch?

Chapter 46: The Bouquet, Starting with Disturbing the Professor

Joseph tried to pretend he hadn't heard, but the people outside were very patient and would come again just as he was about to fall asleep.

Very well, someone has come to challenge his bottom line as a teacher first thing this morning.

Joseph sat up in bed, now wondering who was being so unrestrained so early in the morning.

Joseph raised his hand and touched the edge of the sensing crystal. The image of the entrance to the experimental tower quickly appeared in the crystal. When he saw that Grace was standing at the entrance, he briefly forgave the world.

The Third Princess was wearing a light-colored long dress today, her golden hair was neatly styled, and the ends of her hair fell to her shoulders. When the morning light fell on her, she looked like she had stepped out of an oil painting.

She was also holding a bunch of silvery-white flowers in her arms, the petals edged with light blue, which resembled her eyes somewhat.

It must be admitted that the royal family does have some skill in this regard.

Stories about the Augustan royal family are never lacking in the gossip tabloids and tea party rumors of the capital.

His Majesty the King has been portrayed as a silent lion, and also as an old father sitting on a golden throne, worrying every day about his children's lack of ambition.

The eldest prince was always portrayed as the sun that would carry the empire on its shoulders, as if the first thing he did every morning was to shine upon the empire's territory. Although Joseph felt that this writing was somewhat disregarding the life or death of the king sitting on the throne.

The second princess was portrayed as a rose who controlled social circles and court whispers, with a constant stream of scandalous gossip.

As for the three princesses... it seems like they were all written as pearls swallowed by shadows, as if by prior agreement.

Some say she lacks magical talent and is therefore out of favor, so His Majesty the King rarely allows her to appear on formal occasions. Others go even further, saying that the Third Princess's beauty is due to a curse from the decline of old magic.

In short, in the capital, as long as someone has a high enough status, even if she is just quietly eating a pastry, seventeen different versions of palace secrets can be fabricated about her.

But now, looking at Grace at the door, Joseph felt that those people were somewhat blind.

In the past, let alone being out of favor, just having this face standing there would probably have inspired a group of people to automatically create stories about a royal treasure that was kept hidden away, a silent white rose, or a moon that refused to speak.

Of course, appreciating is one thing.

Even after he finished admiring it, he still couldn't completely forgive the person who disturbed his sleep.

Joseph sat on the edge of the bed and pondered for a moment, then finally reached for his coat and put it on.

Well, since we're already here, we can't just let a princess holding flowers stand in front of our experimental tower and become a morning spectacle.

He pressed the crystal with a headache.

Just as Joseph came downstairs and entered his office, Grace also came in.

The two met each other's eyes at the office door.

Joseph tried hard to make his expression look like that of a vengeful spirit who had just been dug out of bed.

"Good day, sir," she said softly. "I hope I haven't bothered you."

Joseph: "..."

You have already disturbed us.

Of course, he couldn't say that aloud, so he could only put on a gentle expression that even he himself found a little difficult to maintain, and say:

"It's okay."

Grace quietly breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced up at the office; a large pile of parchment scrolls and books were spread out on the desk, along with several sheets of paper half-written on.

One book was lying face down on the corner of the table, as if the owner had just been working there.

Looking at the messy table, she suddenly felt a little more at ease.

As expected, the gentleman did not use his days off to rest.

Grace thought back to how she had just been worried that she had arrived too early and might disturb her husband's precious rest time.

Looking back now, I realize she was too superficial.

How could she guess her husband's thoughts based on ordinary people's rest habits?

Joseph had no idea that his neglected desk had already undergone an academic transformation in Grace's mind.

He glanced at the table and thought to himself that thankfully he hadn't put anything he shouldn't have seen in the open.

Grace stood by the table, holding the flowers, and whispered:

"Sir, I brought back a bouquet of flowers from the palace."

Joseph glanced down and realized the flower looked even more expensive when placed in front of him.

"It looks great," Joseph said.

This isn't just polite talk; it really is beautiful.

"I'd like to put it in your office, is that alright?" Grace said.

"This area can be decorated a little, if you don't mind."

Joseph glanced at his office, which was filled with papers, books, and all sorts of random things.

Empty? Isn't Your Highness's definition of emptiness a bit extravagant?

Aside from the relatively empty aesthetic space, the rest of the place doesn't seem particularly empty.

But whatever the princess says is right, and it's just a bouquet of flowers, it won't affect him much, so he can put it wherever he wants.

Joseph nodded and said, "Okay, you can decide where to put it."

Grace seemed a little happy. She carried the bouquet to the table, first looking at the white paper and charcoal pencils on the table, then at the spot by the window, and finally decided to put the bouquet into an empty glass bottle next to it.

Joseph originally used that glass bottle to hold crumpled paper, but after discovering that there was such a thing as an automatic paper shredder, he simply left the bottle to its fate.

Now that the silver-white bouquet is inserted, it actually looks quite realistic.

As the morning light shone in, the entire office seemed to have its aesthetic level forcibly elevated.

Grace looked at the flowers, and her mood gradually improved.

Mia wasn't in the experimental tower.

The moment this thought crossed her mind, she felt a slight sense of relief.

But the next moment, she felt ashamed of this relaxation.

Mia was so happy yesterday, and Lu Guang succeeded; she should be happy for Mia.

They were all the teacher's students, and she shouldn't be happy just because she was the only one there at this moment.

That's not good.

Grace lowered her eyes and pretended to be arranging the flower branches, gently turning one of the branches halfway around.

Joseph, of course, did not notice her little thoughts. He was getting a little tired of standing, so he simply sat down on the sofa and watched Grace finish arranging the flowers and then pick up the pastry box next to him and put it on the table.

"These are pastries made in the royal kitchen," she said. "If you're tired from work, you can have some."

Joseph looked at the box, and his mood improved considerably after being woken up.

Sweets are much more substantial than flowers. After all, flowers are only for looking at, but sweets are for eating. Moreover, these are sweets made in the palace kitchen, so they should taste much better than what we have here.

"Thank you," Joseph said. "I really like it."

Grace's lips curled up slightly upon hearing this.

She stood there for a while before mustering the courage to ask softly:

"Sir, may I ask you a question?"
