This adventurer is overly righteous.

Chapter 34: Are there others?

The woman woke up, and Kroya brought her water to drink so she could rest. When she first saw Kroya, she probably thought she was dreaming. It wasn't until Kroya poured some water into her mouth and her lips and tongue felt the cool touch that she fully woke up.

"Can you walk?" Kroya asked the other person. Thanks to the healing spell, the other person looked much more energetic, and many of their wounds had gradually healed. "I'm an adventurer. This is the goblin camp, but don't worry, I've already killed them all."

The air was thicker with the stench of blood than before. Goblins lay on the ground like trash. The scene she saw proved that the man in front of her was telling the truth.

"Where were you captured by those goblins? I'll send you back."

Although her wounds had healed, the psychological trauma caused by being captured by goblins still left the woman somewhat dazed and unable to speak for a moment.

"Is this the direction?"

Kroya picked her up and spoke in the direction the goblin had come from. The woman nodded, and Kroya headed in that direction.

The journey wasn't long, and no wild beasts dared to bother them. Kroya finally found a village before it got completely dark. Torches lit up the village, making it quite conspicuous, and Kroya sensed a tense atmosphere emanating from it.

It seemed that someone was patrolling, and it didn't look like a militia or any other organization. Rather, it was a spontaneous act by the villagers. The three of them formed a team and wandered around the village with torches, trying to illuminate the surrounding area with their firelight.

"Goddess of the Night, please protect us, may those goblins never come again..."

A patrol team, carrying torches, stood about five or six steps apart, each looking tense and uneasy.

Because they were just attacked by those goblins!

If they were just ordinary goblins, they wouldn't be afraid. They could easily kill these creatures, which were only the size of a small child, with a pitchfork or any other weapon. They just needed to be careful that these creatures didn't get close to children, livestock, or food.

But what they saw this afternoon were not ordinary goblins.

First, a fire broke out in the wheat field east of the village. At that time, no one realized anything was wrong. They just hurriedly grabbed buckets of water to pour water and put out the fire, fearing that the fire would spread to their own wheat field and then their year's income would be lost.

But then the men realized it was a huge mistake. Cries came from the other side of the village. Several extremely tall goblins led the others into the village. They were cunning and ferocious. They rushed into the houses, killed the men, and kidnapped the women.

There were far too few men left in the village to fight against those creatures. As they triumphantly departed, the goblins threw torches everywhere, setting fires all over the place. Even when the rest of the villagers returned, they had to divert their attention to putting out the fires, and the goblins actually succeeded in capturing several women, including some underage girls. It was truly hateful.

While filled with hatred for goblins, fear also lingered in the hearts of these villagers. What if they came back? What if the goblins attacked at night without them noticing? That would be a disaster.

All the villagers knew that the goblins they were facing this time were no ordinary creatures. Some were even taller than the doorways, and some were strong enough to push down stone walls—they had even seen one house collapse.

Those goblins were beyond the capabilities of ordinary people. If they encountered them head-on, they would probably be smashed into mincemeat. This made the patrolling villagers even more frightened. It had only been a short time since it got dark, but fear had already gripped their hearts.

"Who is it!"

Suddenly, someone shouted at a patch of grass and tried to call for his companions to come over. He was carrying a weapon, but he didn't dare to act alone. The others around him heard the commotion and rushed over.

"Calm down, I'm not a goblin."

A pure white figure emerged from the pitch-black night. By the firelight, the men could see his face clearly—a kind and handsome one. They breathed a sigh of relief that he wasn't a goblin.

"Wow, it's Maggie! He's carrying Maggie on his back!"

Soon, someone screamed in alarm. After Kroya stepped into the area shrouded in firelight, they could see clearly the person on his back. It was Maggie, one of the women who had been captured by the goblins that afternoon.

It was that guy in white who saved Maggie!

Even if the other party is human, they cannot be careless, after all, the other party may be a bandit or a thief. However, after seeing Maggie, the men put down their weapons.

"You..." The villagers looked at each other, and finally someone stepped forward and carried Maggie off Chroya's back. He wanted to speak to Chroya, and his words involuntarily became respectful, "How did you do that? No, I mean, we are very grateful to you..."

They couldn't imagine how the other party had managed to rescue Maggie from those goblins; the combined power of those goblins would be difficult even for a powerful adventurer to deal with.

But the white-clad fellow in front of him looked incredibly young, perhaps not even eighteen. He wasn't wearing heavy armor, and a sword hung at his waist as his weapon. The bundle on his back revealed a corner of a bow and the fletching of several arrows, but he didn't seem to have anything special about him.

Besides, they saw no wounds or bloodstains on him. He looked radiant and calm, showing no signs of having just fought a fierce battle with the goblins.

"I am an adventurer." While being appreciated and praised might be pleasant, Kroya believed it could also bring some trouble. "Clearing these goblins was my mission, but I happened to run into her and rescued her."

"Could you provide me with a place to sleep for the night?"

Running back in the dark now is obviously not realistic, so Kroya decided to stay here for the night and return tomorrow. They shouldn't refuse this request.

"Of course, no problem at all!"

The men quickly replied that Kroya was indeed their benefactor who helped them avenge their grievances, and had even brought Maggie along. Given such a debt of gratitude, how could they possibly refuse?

"But where are the other women?" a somewhat anxious voice called out from the crowd. "Adventurer, now that you've cleared out the goblins, what about the others who were captured by them?"

Kroya turned his head and squinted.

"Are there other people?"
