Kroya set off at night. Although White Rock Town had a curfew, it did not restrict residents from entering or leaving, which was intended to make it convenient for adventurers to come and go.

After all, if adventurers returning in the middle of the night are locked outside the town, these dangerous individuals might do something bad.

Kroya chose to go out at this moment in order to use the goddess's blessing to avoid being followed by other adventurers.

Although the goddess had already spoken, and Kroya was certain to return safely, he still felt he needed to be careful. He had sensed a malevolent gaze at the White Mushroom Tavern.

Perhaps that was the adventurer who had designs on him.

After leaving the guards' sight, Kroya's figure disappeared into the night. It was extremely difficult to track someone by the faint moonlight, but at least for the rest of the night, Kroya didn't have to worry about being found by other adventurers.

Just moments after Kroya left, another group of adventurers emerged from Whitestone Town, led by the scarred adventurer who appeared to have been waiting for some time.

"It seems Carter has already told him our plan," said a tall, thin lieutenant beside the scarred adventurer. "But only one person went out just now; Carter wasn't with him."

"Looks like their relationship isn't all that great." The scarred adventurer muttered, pulling a bluish-green telescope with a copper rim from his waist. "This saves us some trouble, but if we could take the opportunity to kill him, our gains would be even greater..."

The scarred adventurer produced a magical artifact: a telescope with runes that enhanced vision and night vision. It allowed the user to see their surroundings clearly, with an extremely long range and impervious to darkness.

"That kid thinks that if he runs out at night, we can't do anything about it." The scarred adventurer sneered, knowing full well what Kroya was thinking.

However, such tricks are meaningless to well-prepared adventurers.

However, this magical item is extremely expensive, costing almost a whole gold coin for each use. Only elite adventurers have the financial resources to use such a magical item, so it's no wonder that the scarred adventurer became the leader.

However, once the scarred adventurer actually used the telescope and activated the magic within it, his expression changed from confident to somewhat gloomy.

could not find it.

He was certain he had activated magic. Through the lens of the telescope, the pitch-black darkness was no different from daytime. His vision, aided by magic, could reach far into the distance, but when he looked around, he found nothing.

The pitch-black night prevented the surrounding adventurers from seeing their leader's increasingly grim expression; they simply approached and asked:

"Did you find it?"

This undoubtedly made the scarred adventurer even angrier; his face darkened and he became even more ruthless, his tone sounding even more menacing.

"He can't run very far."

The adventurers began searching around their leader, convinced they had arrived too late and that Kroya had already escaped the range of magic.

As for whether Kroya possessed magic or other means to shield himself from magical detection, they considered it but then automatically gave up on the idea.

How could someone with such abilities become an adventurer?

......

As dawn approached, the sky remained unusually dark, with occasional gusts of wind whipping through the trees and swirling the branches, as if foreshadowing the arrival of some kind of hurricane.

Kroya did not escape as far as the scarred adventurer had imagined. In fact, to conceal his whereabouts, he moved very slowly through the wilderness. The power given to him by the goddess allowed him to hide, but that did not mean he had truly disappeared from the world.

He had been walking almost all night without closing his eyes. Fortunately, he had prepared in advance, consuming plenty of nutrition before the trip and getting a good night's sleep during the day. Now, neither physically nor mentally, Croya felt tired.

Along the way, he also encountered adventurers who wanted to hunt him down. They walked past him almost without him noticing, and the most recent time they appeared within ten meters of him.

However, they did not pay close attention and only focused on speeding up, assuming that Croa must have run far away with amazing speed and could not possibly be wandering slowly in the wilderness.

Kroya considered whether to take this opportunity to eliminate them. In the darkness, he had the upper hand and could easily get behind one of the adventurers and pierce his heart with a short sword.

But after thinking about it, Kroya gave up, because although these people were in the dark, they could create light at any time if they wanted to. Making torches and starting a fire on the spot was a specialty of some adventurers.

They didn't do that simply to avoid alerting their prey.

So Kroya decided to avoid them and stop provoking them. After resolving the goblin problem, he planned to focus on learning Raykin's forging techniques in White Rock Town until their alliance collapsed. Kroya wasn't short of money and could live in White Rock Town for quite some time.

The adventurers were traveling in a roughly straight line, in the direction that Kroya had taken when he left Whitestone Town, so Kroya decided to take a long detour and travel in an arc to reach his destination.

Having survived in the wild for a month, Kroya had become somewhat familiar with the goblin-infested area. He knew exactly where the rivers, streams, slopes, and valleys were located.

This is considered a basic skill for an adventurer. Anyone who has been an adventurer for a few years can basically figure out the terrain around White Rock Town.

Kroya decided to quicken his pace because he sensed it was raining. There was a village in the direction he was heading, and getting soaked in the wild would require him to dry himself off immediately over a fire, which could potentially attract danger. Dragging his wet clothes along would not only slow him down but could also expose him to disease.

"Boom!"

The lightning proclaimed the majesty of the sky, and the continuous roars sounded like the deafening clash of two armies. The howling wind grew sharper and more terrifying, dragging Kroya's hair back as if to drown him in the gale. Kroya struggled forward, forced to squint to face the swirling sand and dust. This rain was sure to be even more terrible than he had imagined.

He finally saw the lights of the village in the distance, so he quickened his pace and ran towards it. He knocked on a wooden door, but the villagers inside locked it and did not respond no matter what.

"I am Kroya, may I come inside to take shelter from the rain?"

Kroya shouted from the doorway, lest his voice be drowned out by the other great noises in the world.

The door opened, and a young man opened it. He knew Kroya, but Kroya did not know him. The young man spoke to Kroya with great enthusiasm, which made Kroya feel slightly guilty. He had no recollection of the person in front of him.

"That's because you've helped too many people." The boy didn't care and led Kroya into the house, lighting the fire in the fireplace. He noticed that Kroya's clothes were slightly wet from the rain.

As soon as Croya entered the house, the rain suddenly intensified, and hailstones rained down from the sky with loud bangs.
