Chapter 67 The Imprisoned Goblin

It seems that the humanoid monster informed the goblin leader of the intruders' presence, as the goblins became much more vigilant and even formed a small team to try to search for Kroya's whereabouts, but this was of no use and they had to give up after a while.

The goblins, realizing that the invaders were trapped inside and wouldn't cause much trouble, returned to their usual lazy demeanor. Kroya then emerged from a corner and began exploring this goblin settlement.

First, you have to get around that stinking cesspool...

"Neither the goblin leader nor his guards live here." Kroya looked around. The goblin leader's attire was easily recognizable, and he certainly wouldn't have overlooked him if he were here. "The magical monster isn't here either."

It seems that even they couldn't stand such an environment. Leaving aside the humanoid monster, which appears to have the same intelligence as humans, it would naturally be picky about its dwelling. As for the goblin leader, his intelligence is also quite extraordinary, setting him apart from his kind who can wallow in cesspools without any disgust.

"I'm afraid they won't eat the same food as these ordinary goblins..."

Kroya witnessed the goblins eating and knew that they had a powerful digestive system, able to swallow even rotten meat without getting sick.

However, when he saw hundreds of goblins gathered around many large wooden barrels, scooping up fermented swill with their palms and stuffing it into their mouths, while sucking their fingers with relish, Kroya couldn't help but frown.

There must still be some decent food here for that monster and the goblin leader to eat...

Unless that monster is a ghoul who has a particular taste for it.

The magnificent sight of goblins feeding did not last long. After they finished eating and resting, their leader soon appeared among them, using goblin roars to urge them uphill to resume their mining work, leaving behind only various stench.

Kroa was able to continue his journey, as there were other creatures in the area besides goblins—a small, purple-skinned goblin.

The goblin was locked in a goblin cell, leaning against the cold rock wall, with only a few rags and thatch for company.

Although it was called a prison, it looked like nothing more than a hole dug into the rock wall by the goblins. They used metal bars to trap the goblin inside, which was probably the work of that monster.

There must be humans colluding with this monster.

There was a firelight in front of the cell, seemingly to remind the goblins to check on the imprisoned goblin from time to time, but now the goblins were gone. Kroya approached cautiously, drew his sword, and used the smooth blade to reflect a sliver of light into the eyes of the imprisoned goblin.

The blessing from the goddess can be freely controlled. Kroya let the tip of the sword protrude, making it look like a reflective object floating in the air. Kroya simply found the right position and angle to make his actions more concealed.

The goblin had his eyes closed, but when he felt light shining into them, he impatiently opened them. However, when he followed the light and saw a slightly floating sword tip, his pupils suddenly contracted.

Kroya guessed that the other person should have realized his presence, so he patiently waited for the other person to take the initiative to communicate with him.

After all, that monster is capable of using magic, so who knows what tricks it might have up its sleeve?

"Adrian, you old vampire, I know you've been watching me," the goblin shouted. "Are you offering me a bed because you think I'm uncomfortable lying here?"

Who is he talking to?

Kroya crouched behind a rock.

"A petty thief like you deserves to sleep on straw." The monster they had seen earlier reappeared in the darkness and walked to the goblin's cell. The two stared at each other, and the vampire called Adrian looked at them with disdain. "I think you should know by now that another little reptile has sneaked into this cave..."

"So you thought that guy would definitely come to talk to me, so you've been keeping watch here." The goblin sneered. "You're waiting for him to walk right into your trap, but he's smarter than you think. Do you think you can catch him the way you caught me?"

"He won't last long. I bet he's actually somewhere nearby, otherwise you wouldn't be talking and wasting your energy." Adrian glanced around, his pale eyes rolling in their deep-set sockets as they swept over the area where Kroya was hiding. He continued, his tone arrogant, "But I don't need to look for him. I'm not going to argue with you petty thieves. You'll come out on your own."

"Perhaps he won't be able to take it in a few days."

"Ha, you boastful vampire..."

After speaking, the vampire left, and after a long while, the goblin finally spoke.

"Alright, let's talk. Who are you?" The goblin controlled his voice to an extremely precise volume. Kroya leaned closer and could just hear him clearly, but any further away he could only hear mumbled grunts. "But I should introduce myself first."

"My name is Logan, a prisoner of vampires," Logan said leisurely, showing no sign of his distress as a prisoner. "I am also a trained spies of the White Rock Town Adventurers' Guild. My job is to explore all sorts of dangerous places and bring intelligence to the Adventurers' Guild."

"However, as you can see, I was captured by that vampire, and the means I used to contact the Adventurers' Guild were also cracked by him. He used my magical items to convey to the Adventurers' Guild that everything is fine here..."

This explains why the Adventurers' Guild has been unable to locate the Goblin Lord's Lair for so long.

Why did he imprison you?

Kroya asked in a low voice, but what he meant was—why didn't the vampire kill him?

"I need to tell you something first," the goblin replied calmly. "You need to be careful of all the bats in this cave. They are Adrian's eyes and ears, so be careful when you want to talk to me in the future."

"I'm an informant for the Adventurers' Guild. I've made a pact with them, so if I die, they'll know immediately where I died. That's why that vampire doesn't dare kill me." The goblin's eyes darted around, and he spread his hands, continuing, "As for you, I don't know. But you probably know better than I how the vampire got its name."

Clearly, if Kroya is caught, he will only have his blood drained by that vampire.
