The second basement level, which served as the goblin's living area, was deserted. They had all gone upstairs to work mining white stones. Only the three super-large mutated goblins responsible for tidying up the barrels were relatively free and could stay here.

Kroya followed behind the goblin carrying the silver barrel, while looking around for bats. According to the goblin, those bats were the incarnations of vampires; they shared vision and could transmit information to their original bodies.

"There are no bats."

This means we can start now.

Perhaps the vampire was misled by his previous success in capturing the goblin. He may have thought that to deal with Kroya, he only needed to follow the previous method—seal the cave, and the opponent would naturally collapse.

However, if the other party mistakenly believes that Croy is a low-level spy with the same combat capabilities as Logan, who is already imprisoned, then they are making a big mistake.

For Kroya, killing a super-large mutated goblin silently would be a simple matter; he didn't cause any damage in the cave simply out of caution.

But in order to solve the food problem, he felt that now was the perfect time to take action.

The talent called "Hunter" came into play, and an invisible yet chilling and terrifying aura enveloped the colossal goblin in an instant. It had been walking forward without any hesitation, but now it abruptly stopped in its tracks, a strong sense of unease making its body somewhat out of control.

[Hunter] has a deterrent effect on prey, and its specific effect depends on how many times Kroya kills the opponent's own kind.

Kroya didn't quite remember how many goblins he had killed, but it should have been more than five hundred. Some adventurers couldn't kill that many in their entire lives.

For goblins, Kroya is a hunter who instills fear in them.

The next moment, Kroya moved. He didn't use his sword but his hand. Before the giant mutated goblin could roar, he punched it in the jaw. Its jaw snapped shut with a "bang," and its upper and lower teeth collided. The impact traveled along its bones to its brain, and it lost its balance and became disoriented in an instant.

But that wasn't all. Kroya caught the falling silver barrel with his right hand, gripping the edge with his fingers and holding on tightly with his grip strength. Then, with his other hand, he grabbed the goblin's neck, his hand like an iron clamp that couldn't be broken free. At the same time, he pressed down on the goblin's neck blood vessels, preventing blood from flowing to his brain.

One second, two seconds later, the giant goblin's body went completely limp. It was a huge creature, a massive mountain of flesh to ordinary people. If it fell forward, it could crush the person in front of it. But Kroya controlled its body with just one hand, making it fall without moving.

"Let that vampire remain unaware."

It's a good thing to let your enemy underestimate you. Kroya doesn't intend to kill this giant mutated goblin. The best-case scenario is that the vampire can keep Kroya as a spy without any fighting ability.

All he had to do was take some food and pretend it was all an accident.

"The goblin tripped over a stone and fell, knocking its head out..."

From the perspective of that giant goblin, Kroya is not visible. If Kroya makes some arrangements, the goblin will probably attribute its unconsciousness to tripping over a stone.

Kroya placed a stone at the goblin's feet and made a wound on its forehead.

"Hopefully, there's something edible inside."

Kroya prayed silently in his heart, then pried open the barrel, revealing what was inside.

"Ham, hard bread, beans, jam, red wine..."

The food inside was packaged separately and stuffed with straw to prevent it from colliding, which made it easy for Kroya to handle the food. He only needed to take a small portion of each item and put them back to make it look like no one had touched it.

Such a disguise is naturally not foolproof, but Croya hopes it will work.

After putting the stolen food into his bag, Kroya began cleaning up the scene, closing the silver barrel again and using a purification spell to remove the smell.

A moment later, the colossal mutated goblin woke up. Its foot kicked the stone that Kroya had placed there, and it felt pain in its forehead again. It touched it and couldn't remember what had happened before it fainted, but it probably fell and passed out.

It suddenly remembered the silver bucket it was carrying on its shoulder, and its eyes searched around before finally spotting the silver bucket lying on the ground. It quickly picked it up, checked it, and only after confirming that it was safe and sound did it continue its previous activity of transporting the silver bucket.

Kroya observed everything from the shadows, nodding to himself, seemingly oblivious to anything unusual.

"What does that goblin usually eat?"

Kroya felt a bit hungry. He couldn't calculate how long he had been trapped in this cave, but his stomach had been rumbling with hunger for some time.

The stench here completely killed Kroya's appetite, even after he climbed up the rock wall and found a few crevices where the stench had lessened.

Fortunately, the air in those rock crevices doesn't circulate much, and goblins never go there. Kroya can keep the air inside fresh by using a purification spell every now and then.

Taking advantage of the disappearance of the stench in the air, Kroya swallowed the food in a few bites, quickly finishing his meal. He then planned to go to Logan, who must have provided him with food. Goblins are not much better at enduring hunger than humans.

Kroya moved closer, but before he could speak, a sound and a vibration came from the passage leading to the upper goblin work area. Kroya had no choice but to swallow his words and wait for the goblins to leave.

The goblins resumed eating and resting, but at the same time, an ordinary goblin walked toward the cell where the goblins were imprisoned.

A bowl of relatively clean water, a palm-sized loaf of bread, and a radish—the goblin brought Logan food, which Logan ate without hesitation. Kroya could see that Logan's arms and legs were sickly thin, indicating that he was extremely emaciated.

It seems that while the vampire didn't want Logan to die, he also didn't want him to live too comfortably.

After all the goblins had finished eating and resting and left, Kroya confirmed that there were no bats around before speaking to Logan, who had closed his eyes again to rest and conserve his energy.
