Cultivating immortality begins with discerning the secrets of heaven.

The Seven Peaks Competition is held every three years.

The participants are Qi Refining stage disciples from various peaks of the Taiyuan Sect. Anyone whose cultivation level is at the Qi Refining stage can sign up to participate.

This is considered a major event within the sect, and cultivators who stand out from the small competitions can receive quite generous rewards.

"The prize for winning is a Foundation Establishment Pill?" Lin Yun was slightly surprised. Although he knew something about this competition, he really didn't know what the prize was.

A senior disciple from Hundred Refinements Peak chuckled, "That's right. Because of this Foundation Establishment Pill, several disciples who were preparing to break through to the Foundation Establishment stage have had to postpone their cultivation, intending to take this opportunity to obtain another Foundation Establishment Pill!"

"In the past, the rewards for winning the Seven Peaks Competition were either Foundation Establishment spiritual items or the inner core or materials of a second-tier demon beast. Foundation Establishment pills were rarely used as rewards."

This person is named Yang Kuo. He has been in the sect for more than 20 years and has a cultivation level of the eighth level of Qi Refining.

Lin Yun frowned and pondered for a while, then shook his head and said, "Let's forget it. My cultivation is shallow and I am not good at fighting. I can't possibly be a match for the other peak disciples."

After all, the disciples participating in the minor competition are all elites from their respective peaks, and it's not impossible for them to even be disciples who have reached the tenth level of Qi Refining.

The allure of a Foundation Establishment Pill is quite strong.

Lin Yun didn't think he could beat those freaks, especially those old disciples who had been in the sect for decades and were still in the Qi Refining stage; their foundations were all incredibly deep.

His greatest reliance right now is the magical artifact he carries, but how could the elite disciples of each peak not have magical artifacts by their side?

"Junior brother, you are mistaken. The sect's small competition is all about participation. If you are lucky enough to make it into the top ten, the rewards will be quite generous."

Yang Kuo persisted in persuading him, seemingly hoping that Lin Yun would sign up for the sect's minor competition.

In response, Lin Yun asked with some curiosity, "Senior Brother Yang, you seem to really want me to participate in the sect's minor competition. Why is that?"

Upon hearing this, Yang Kuo smiled wryly and said, "To be honest, in the past, every time the sect held a small competition, my Hundred Refinement Peak's results were extremely poor, so no one had much desire to sign up to participate."

"But this time Elder Duanmu gave a strict order: we can't afford to lose face, ten disciples have to sign up no matter what!"

"So, the task fell to me. I wandered around the peak, and now only three people have signed up."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yun finally understood the current situation of Hundred Refinement Peak.

The greatest reliance of a weapon-refining disciple is their own magical weapon, but once the opponent also has a suitable magical weapon, then they really have no advantage in the battle.

The disciples of the other peaks are either proficient in combat, or possess powerful spells, or have unique techniques with extremely strong destructive power.

"This..." Lin Yun looked troubled, thinking of ways to decline.

But at that moment, Yang Kuo spoke up, "Junior Brother Lin, just help your senior brother out by registering. At worst, you can just go through the motions."

"By the way, Elder Duanmu also said that as long as you represent Hundred Refinement Peak in the minor competition, you can go to his cave two months later to listen to the elder's teachings on weapon forging."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yun's eyes lit up, revealing a hint of interest.

"In that case, alright then, I'll participate in this little competition."

Yang Kuo also breathed a slight sigh of relief, and quickly took Lin Yun's identity token, helped him register, and represented Hundred Refinement Peak in the sect's minor competition.

"Junior Brother Lin, don't forget the time! The sect's minor competition is in six months!"

"I still need to find my other fellow disciples, so I won't stay any longer."

Lin Yun nodded and said, "Take care, Senior Brother Yang."

After seeing the other person off, he calmed himself down and focused his mind for a while.

Then, he took another Spirit Gathering Pill and continued his attempt to break through to the sixth level of the Qi Refining stage.

...

In the blink of an eye, another month has passed.

Lin Yun, who had been in seclusion for a full month, finally broke out of his seclusion.

boom!

An even more powerful aura surged from his body, as the rich and pure spiritual energy of heaven and earth around him poured into his body.

Qi Refining Stage 6!

The next step is to become a cultivator in the late stage of Qi Refining.

While such cultivation might not seem like much in the Taiyuan Sect, it would make one a minor expert in the cultivation world, where independent cultivators are the majority.

"That's right. If I were to return to my clan now, I could become a key member of the clan."

"Unfortunately, I don't have many Spirit Gathering Pills left, and the effectiveness of pills has decreased significantly once I reach the sixth level of Qi Refining."

Lin Yun breathed a sigh of relief, and a trace of ethereal green spiritual power emanated from his fingertips. Since switching to cultivating the "Eternal Green Technique," his magical power had indeed become much purer.

Furthermore, during this cultivation, he could clearly sense that his life essence seemed to have increased.

"This cultivation technique deserves a lot of credit for enabling me to reach the sixth level of Qi Refining so quickly."

"Next is the seventh level of Qi Refining. If you can reach the late stage of Qi Refining before the age of thirty, then you will have the opportunity to try Foundation Establishment before the age of sixty."

Regarding Foundation Establishment, there is indeed a common saying in the cultivation world: once you are over sixty years old, the chances of successfully establishing your foundation will be somewhat lower.

This is related to aging, physical decline, and decreased blood and qi.

However, Lin Yun guessed that with his supplementary cultivation of body techniques, plus the life essence provided by the "Eternal Green Technique," his qi and blood might not decline much even when he was eighty years old.

"If one can cultivate the Blood Transfer Technique to its perfect level, the Qi and blood in the body will be perfectly integrated, and even at the age of one hundred, there will be no problem of blood and Qi depletion."

Just as Lin Yun was pondering where to obtain some potent medicines containing life essence, seven much stronger fire spirit bees flew out from his courtyard.

Buzz!

Seeing this, Lin Yun smiled and then waved.

The seven crimson spirit bees circled around once, and then landed on his arm.

"You've made it through the first stage, that's great, time for your second insect feeder pill."

As he spoke, Lin Yun took out the insect-feeding pills from his hand again and fed them to the seven fire spirit bees one by one.

If you can survive the three stages, you will have the opportunity to advance and achieve a leap in your life level, becoming a second-tier spirit insect, the Fire Jade Bee!

If we can cultivate queen bees from these fire jade bees, they will lay a large number of bee eggs in the future, and we will no longer need to refine insect feed pills.

"There are still five months until the sect competition, which is enough time. If we can collect five Fire Jade Bees, we might actually have a chance in this sect competition."

Before long, the seven Tier 1 Fire Spirit Bees, after consuming the Insect Feeding Pills, fell into a deep sleep once again.

This slumber will last for half a month to a month. Once they awaken, these Fire Spirit Bees will exhibit some characteristics indicating they are about to advance, such as their bodies becoming crystal clear like jade and their wings developing red fire patterns...
