Fairy Tail: This Healing Mage's hits hurt so much!
Chapter 248 Wendy VS Hughes
Hughes deliberately lured Wendy into the amusement park.
He stood on the high platform, looking down at Wendy, a smug smile playing on his lips.
"This is my home turf."
He gripped the baton, his wrist flicking, the tip tracing an elegant arc, as if a conductor of a symphony orchestra were playing a movement.
The fountain statue responded to the call, the stone sculpture opened its mouth, and several thick jets of water roared towards Wendy, the water pressure so strong that it carved several shallow trenches into the ground.
Wendy puffed out her cheeks, cupped her hands around her mouth, and took a deep breath.
【The Roar of the Heavenly Dragon】
A column of wind gushed from her mouth, carrying a sharp gust of air that met the water column head-on.
The moment the wind and water collided, the water column was torn into a mist that filled the sky, and a fine rain began to fall throughout the amusement park.
Wendy wiped the water droplets from her face and stared warily at Hughes.
Hughes grinned; the attack had failed, but it had only fueled his fighting spirit.
He gripped the conductor's baton, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Hahaha, this is more interesting."
He then continued waving his baton, his movements becoming even more expansive than before, the tip of the baton pointing towards the roller coaster on the distant track.
The metal carriages creaked and groaned as they veered off the tracks, the locomotives turning sharply and hurtling towards Wendy with a whooshing sound.
"Let's see how you use the wind to scatter it this time."
Wendy's pupils contracted slightly as she watched the enormous creature charge towards her, but her steps remained steady and composed.
Don't underestimate me!
[Enchanted Magic: Lightness]
A pale blue light flashed beneath her feet, and Wendy leaped up as lightly as a falling leaf.
The roller coaster roared past her feet, its front end slamming into the ground, sending debris flying everywhere.
Hughes smirked and suddenly raised his baton.
The roller coaster tilted its front up, its metal body drawing a strange arc in mid-air before hurtling straight toward Wendy.
Wendy's pupils contracted, and her heart clenched. If she were hit by that, she would be finished.
Just as she was trying to use the wind to avoid it, the roller coaster suddenly accelerated, the engine roared, and it knocked her flying.
Wendy's body crashed into a pile of amusement park rides like a kite with a broken string, scattering wood chips and metal fragments everywhere and raising a cloud of dust.
Hughes spread his arms wide, raised his chin, and struck an extremely arrogant pose, as if he were enjoying a grand performance.
"How naive! Did they really think I was controlling the roller coaster at a constant speed? Hahaha..."
Just as he was giving his victory speech as the villain, a blue figure burst out from the dust at an incredible speed, so fast that it was almost just a blur.
In the blink of an eye, Wendy was already in front of Hughes, a rapidly spinning turquoise ball of light condensing in her right hand.
The wind barrier was compressed to its limit, and the swirling air currents emitted a sharp buzzing sound in her palm. Without hesitation, she blasted it into his abdomen.
"Rasengan!"
Hughes screamed as the Rasengan ripped his abdomen, tearing his clothes to shreds and leaving a horrifying wound on his skin, with blood splattering everywhere.
The Rasengan exploded, and the violent blast sent Hughes flying. His body tumbled several times in the air before crashing heavily onto the edge of the fountain, splashing water all over him.
Hughes struggled to sit up, bracing himself against the pool wall. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and roared hysterically, his face contorted like that of an enraged beast.
"How could you be unharmed?! Even Erza would be severely injured if hit by an attack like that!"
Wendy pursed her lips and remained silent, her little face full of stubbornness. Sunshine Brother had said not to explain one's abilities to the enemy.
At first, she thought she was going to be seriously injured, after all, the pain was real, and the moment the roller coaster hit her, she almost thought she was going to fall apart.
But before long, a warm current emanated from her body, and a green light flowed beneath her skin, gently healing her injuries. The bruises faded, and the pain subsided.
When Sunrise left the cell, he put a life link on everyone.
Wendy clenched her little fist, and a rotating wind barrier once again gathered in her palm, ready to give Hughes another Rasengan.
Before she could even finish rolling the dumplings, the ground shook violently, twisting and deforming like a shaken carpet, and the bricks under her feet made a sickening cracking sound.
"What's going on?"
Wendy stumbled and staggered from the twisted ground, unable to stand steadily, and had to crouch down to regain her balance.
Hughes sat by the fountain, his face contorted in a grimace, a maniacal smile playing on his lips, as he raised his baton above his head.
"Hahaha, I'll turn my command wand up to maximum power and see if you can withstand the next attack!"
The entire amusement park went completely mad. The carousel detached from its base and crashed around wildly, the Ferris wheel cabins shot out like cannonballs, and the bumper cars piled up and ran over Wendy.
All the rides came to life and launched an attack on Wendy.
Even benches, tables, and decorative flowers were lifted off the ground and joined the frenzied attack, raining down on Wendy in droves.
Wendy's face turned pale with fright at the sheer size of the attack; if she got caught up in it, she'd be torn to pieces.
She turned and ran, her light magic allowing her to nimbly dodge through the chaotic arena, intending to deplete Hughes's magic power.
Hughes, however, would not allow her to have her way. He waved his baton in the direction of the exit, and the passage leading to the outside closed.
The heavy iron gate slammed shut, completely isolating the amusement park from the outside world; this place was now an isolated island within the palace.
Wendy was forced to stop, glanced back at the closed exit, her chest heaving as she forced herself to calm down.
[Enchanted Magic: Lightness]
[Enchanted Magic: Breath of the Wind]
Pale blue and emerald green light alternately shone on her body.
She gave herself a speed buff, making her agile and swift, dodging left and right among the flying debris and quickly closing the distance with Hughes.
As Wendy got closer, she faced more attacks: tables and chairs flanking her from both sides, and decorative lampposts sweeping across her.
She had to change direction frequently, and the hem of her clothes was torn in several places.
"You think you can easily take me down just because you're fast?"
Hughes's smile deepened as he watched Wendy rush towards him.
Wendy pursed her lips, but if you looked closely, the corners of her mouth were slightly upturned.
Feigning an attack forces Hughes to divert some of his energy to control the facilities for defense, thus depleting Hughes's magic power.
A glint of triumph flashed in Hughes' eyes.
"Such a simple trick, you're still too green."
Wendy's footing gave way to a gaping hole in the ground, leaving her with nowhere to hold on, and she plummeted uncontrollably downwards.
Attacks from all directions seized the opportunity to engulf her. Instinctively, she crossed her arms in front of her to protect herself, creating a wind barrier that enveloped her in a pale blue spherical shield.
Upon seeing this, Hughes burst into wild laughter, hands on his hips, head thrown back, laughing so hard he almost fell over.
"Hahaha, since an impact can't hurt you, then I'll just crush you completely!"
The amusement park ride controlled by Hughes completely enveloped Wendy, compressing her little by little.
A burst of emerald green light shone through the crack, growing brighter and brighter, more and more dazzling.
"Resistance is useless; I still have replacement magic crystals here."
Hughes took a blue crystal out of his pocket and shook it.
Wendy gritted her teeth inside the barrier, which was compressed, rotated, and condensed, with all the power converging into a single point.
【Dragon Slayer Secret Technique - Illumination Break - Sky Piercing - Modified】
A violent spiral storm tore apart the amusement park ride, shredding metal and wood into fragments as it spun around.
The whistling airflow, without the slightest pause, crashed unstoppably towards Hughes, blasting directly into the wall, sending bricks flying and dust billowing everywhere.
Hughes was embedded in a crater in the wall, his body covered in wounds, his hair mostly gone, his eyes rolled back, and his tongue lolling out; he was beyond help.
The baton slipped from his hand and bounced twice on the ground.
Wendy lay on the pile of equipment, panting heavily. Her chest heaved violently, and her limbs were so weak that she could barely lift them, but a satisfied smile appeared on her little face.
"I guess I can be considered capable of handling things on my own now."
