Lucy impersonates Beyoncé and stays by the Queen's side.

She dared not speak much, for fear of exposing herself.

Fortunately, both groups of people who came in were there to get the Queen's signature for expense reimbursement. The Queen was not in her right mind, so she picked up a pen and signed the reimbursement forms.

Having achieved their goal, these people didn't linger; they took the Queen's signature and left.

After getting rid of the two groups of people, Lucy breathed a sigh of relief.

But she only had a moment of relief before there was another knock on the door.

Then the door was pushed open, and a middle-aged man walked in; he was Thomas, the palace steward.

Thomas came in and looked around, but didn't see Catherine. He asked Lucy, puzzled,

"Where is Catherine?"

Lucy mimicked Beyoncé's voice, saying, "I have to go out."

Thomas, unaware that Lucy was an imposter, asked in a low voice, "Kate, did anyone suspicious come to see the Queen today?"

Lucy noticed Thomas's suspicious behavior, as he was calling Beyoncé "Kate." It seemed Thomas was in cahoots with Catherine and Kate.

"Yes, a man and a woman came in just now and noticed that the Queen was acting strangely, so they asked her a few questions."

Thomas sounded a little nervous. "What did they ask?"

"They asked the Queen if she wanted to see a doctor."

"What did you say?"

"I said the Queen is in good health, just tired from a busy schedule, and she'll be fine after a rest."

Thomas praised, "You're right. What did they say?"

"They said they wanted to find a doctor to examine the Queen, and I said it wasn't necessary, but they insisted on finding a doctor."

Thomas looked nervous. "Who are they?"

Lucy took out a document and handed it to Thomas. "This is their visitor pass. It's registered on it. Take a look."

Thomas reached out to take the documents, but Lucy suddenly grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back.

Thomas was caught off guard and was pinned to the ground by Lucy's arms without any resistance.

Ye Kai came out of the lounge and rushed to Thomas, pried open his mouth, and took out a false tooth.

Inside this denture is a capsule containing the highly toxic drug potassium cyanide.

Lucy gave Ye Kai a thumbs up. "Nice, Ye Kai, you reacted really quickly."

"A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit; don't fall on the same stone twice."

"You're absolutely right!"

Lucy looked at Thomas smugly. "Let's see how you try to commit suicide now. Tell me, which organization are you from?"

Thomas realized, "So you're not Kate after all!"

"Too bad you found out too late!"

"Who are you, daring to impersonate a princess?"

"You're a thief crying 'stop thief!' You sent someone to impersonate the princess and control the queen!"

Thomas retorted, "What evidence do you have to prove that I sent someone to impersonate the princess?"

"Didn't you just call me Kate? How do you know Beyoncé is Kate in disguise?"

Thomas denied it, saying, "Did I say that? What evidence do you have to prove it?"

At that moment, Alice came out of the lounge, angrily shoving a towel into Thomas's mouth.

"Lucy, why are you arguing with him? Get to the point!"

"Beat this old bastard to death!"

The two worked together seamlessly, attacking Thomas from both sides with a barrage of punches and kicks.

They struck Thomas precisely on soft areas such as his abdomen and legs, causing him intense pain without breaking his bones.

Thomas, with a towel stuffed in his mouth, couldn't make a sound. He was howling silently on the ground, snot and tears streaming down his face.

But Thomas was very stubborn and refused to confess.

Alice and Lucy were both exhausted from fighting, but they still couldn't get a single question out of Thomas. They stopped, panting and sighing.

"I didn't expect this old guy to be so tough."

"Yeah, if it were someone else, they would have given up long ago."

Lucy and Alice are a great team; together, they can overcome any challenge.

They exchanged a glance. "Boiled eggs in hot water!"

Thomas looked frightened as he listened, not knowing what kind of torture this was, but still refused to confess.

Alice and Lucy raised their legs, ready to kick Thomas, but Ye Kai waved his hand.

"We are all civilized people. Let's not use such brutal methods in front of the Queen. You two take a rest and leave him to me."

Lucy and Alice obediently stepped aside.

Ye Kai stared at Thomas, and two beams of white light shot into Thomas's eyes, taking control of his brain.

Ye Kai asked in a deep voice, "What's your name?"

Thomas answered honestly, "John Thomas."

"What is your identity?"

"The Chief Steward of the Royal Palace."

"Which organization sent you?"

"shadow."

Upon hearing this, Lucy and Alice's expressions turned serious.

"What kind of organization is this?"

"An organization that saves humanity."

Ye Kai retorted sarcastically, "You think you can save humanity by sneaking around in the shadows?"

"We are the messengers of light in the darkness; only we can save humanity."

"How do you plan to save humanity?"

"What we need to save are the high-quality humans. There are too many people on this planet. We need to eliminate the low-quality people who have no value. In the end, 400 million people will be enough."

Lucy and Alice looked at each other in dismay. There were six billion people on Earth, and only four hundred million remained. This meant that five billion people had to be wiped out!

Is this insane?

Ye Kai was also shocked. He felt that the Night Emperor of Japan was already crazy, but he did not expect that this Shadow would be even more depraved.

Thomas shook his head. "I don't know. I'm just an executor. I do whatever I'm told to do."

"A messenger has delivered orders from my superiors to me."

"archbishop."

So the highest leader of the Shadows is the Archbishop. Could he be connected to the Church?

Ye Kai pressed on, "Who is he, and where is he?"

"I don't know. I've only been a member for four years, and I'm just a level six secretary."

"Who else in the palace is on your side?"

"Catherine and Kate."

"What conspiracy do you have to control the Queen?"

"I don't know, I'm just an executor."

When asked any further questions, Thomas shook his head, indicating that he indeed held a very low position in the shadows and had no access to important secrets.

Thomas, a palace steward, is only level six in the Shadows, with twelve levels above him, indicating that the Shadows are a large and terrifying organization.

These three members all had poison in their mouths; if they were caught, they would commit suicide by taking poison. It's truly terrifying.
