The next morning, Lin Feng parked his car at the entrance of the courtyard where Song Yan was staying and honked the horn twice.

A moment later, the gate opened, and Song Yan came running out carrying two plastic bags.

A few girls behind them jeered and teased, "Oh my! Boss Lin's here to pick up his wife in his luxury car! Take care, sister-in-law!"

"My sister-in-law went out early this morning to buy breakfast for her sweetheart!"

Song Yan blushed and got into the car without looking back.

She wore a pink sweatshirt, jeans, and white canvas shoes today, looking neat, clean, and innocent.

"Here you go!" She handed over the plastic bag.

"I also bought you tofu pudding and two steamed buns, pork and cabbage filling."

Lin Feng took it, opened the plastic bag, and felt the steaming hot liquid mixed with the savory flavor of tofu pudding. He took a slurp; it was exactly the taste he liked.

"Is it good?" Song Yan tilted her head to look at him, her eyes sparkling.

"It's delicious." Lin Feng freed one hand and pinched her cheek. "How could it not be delicious if my wife bought it?"

Song Yan blushed and slapped his hand away: "Stop fooling around."

Lin Feng smiled, finished his tofu pudding, started the car, and drove towards the school.

The car stereo was playing "I Have to Love You," and Song Yan leaned back in her seat, humming along to a couple of lines in a soft, soothing voice.

The car quickly arrived at the school gate after two kilometers.

Old Liu didn't salute today; he was squatting at the entrance of the guardhouse eating fried dough sticks. When he saw the Audi come in, he waved and greeted it.

Lin Feng parked the car, and the two walked together toward the teaching building.

As soon as they entered the building, they ran into Chen Qisheng. The guy saw Song Yan and Lin Feng walking together and immediately winked and said:

"Oh, your sister-in-law is here?"

Song Yan glared at him: "Don't yell like that!"

Chen Qisheng chuckled and pulled Lin Feng upstairs, saying, "Brother Feng, let's go, class is about to start."

Song Yan called out from behind, "Lin Feng, let's have lunch together!"

"OK!"

----

Halfway through the class, the police officer arrived and spoke a few words to Lao Liu outside the classroom.

Old Liu walked up to Lin Feng with a solemn expression:

"Come out for a moment."

Lin Feng had already guessed that the police would come today.

Yesterday after school, Wang Yu had just been beaten up when someone severed one of his Achilles tendons and smashed his knee on his way back to the dormitory.

Therefore, Wang Yu would definitely suspect that Lin Feng hired someone to do it, and even if he didn't, he would still implicate Lin Feng.

But relying solely on his word without substantial evidence is useless.

Lin Feng had already prepared his story, and the police left after getting nothing useful from him.

Wang Yu is still lying in the hospital!

His mother cried all night; with current medical technology, that leg was destined to be disabled.

Lin Feng returned to the classroom, but his mind was elsewhere. He wasn't thinking about Wang Yu; he was thinking about another plan.

Tiger said the people he found were from Shuangyashan, and they were all unfamiliar faces. They left immediately after the job was done.

Lin Feng scribbled and drew on the paper, going through each step.

----

Finally, the school bell rang for the afternoon break.

Lin Feng didn't rush to leave. He sat in his seat and waited until most of the people in the classroom had left before slowly standing up.

Chen Qisheng leaned over and said, "Brother Feng, going to the arcade today? Let's play '97 for a bit."

"Let's do it another day, I have something to do today."

"What's up?"

"event!"

After saying that, he left!

Chen Qisheng scratched his head, looking puzzled.

"What important matter could you possibly have?"

Lin Feng didn't go to the bike shed; instead, he turned a corner and climbed over the side wall.

----

Liu Jiaqi was on duty today, so she left later than usual.

As she reached the entrance of an alley, she waved to her best friend:

"See you tomorrow!"

Her best friend, Feng Nan, waved and said, "See you tomorrow!"

Liu Jiaqi walked alone in the alley, carrying her schoolbag. The setting sun shone in from the alley entrance, lengthening her shadow.

She was still wearing her school uniform, her hair tied in a low ponytail, with a few stray strands hanging down beside her ears.

She wasn't wearing makeup, but her skin was so white it glowed, and her lips were naturally pink. Walking down the alley, she looked like a flower.

Suddenly, footsteps came from the other end of the alley.

Four men walked in from the alley entrance, all dressed in black, one of them carrying a stick.

Liu Jiaqi paused, instinctively taking a step back.

The four men quickened their pace and surrounded her.

"Hey, little sister, school's out?" The one leading the group was a man with a buzz cut, around thirty years old, who smiled and revealed a set of yellow teeth.

"Are you walking alone? That's dangerous! We'll take you home."

Liu Jiaqi leaned against the wall, her voice trembling slightly: "No...no need, I can walk by myself."

"Don't be shy." Another man with dyed blond hair reached out and touched her face. "You're really pretty. From Fourth Middle School? What grade are you in?"

Liu Jiaqi was startled and quickly slapped the blond-haired man's hand away:

"Don't touch me! I'm calling for help!"

"Go ahead and shout. Nobody walks this alley usually. You can shout until you're hoarse and no one will hear you." The crew-cut man chuckled and reached out to tug at her backpack strap.

"Come on, let your brother carry your schoolbag."

Liu Jiaqi struggled backward with all her might, scattering her textbooks all over the floor.

"Don't touch me! Get away!"

The blond-haired man grabbed her waist and brought his mouth close to her neck, saying, "Don't be afraid, little sister! I'm not a bad guy."

Liu Jiaqi screamed and struggled desperately, but couldn't break free.

The blond-haired man lewdly shouted, "Hahaha... Brothers, strip her naked. Let's have some fun today, a team battle!"

Liu Jiaqi was trembling all over, and tears were already streaming down her face.

"Help...! Help me...!"

"You scum! Get out of my way!"

She pushed hard, but couldn't budge him; the man was like a wall.

The crew-cut man reached out and unzipped her school uniform, swearing obscenities as he spoke.

"Little slut, stop pretending. Walking on this kind of road at this hour, you're just trying to get people to..."

He hadn't finished speaking.

A hand reached out from behind, grabbed the man with the crew cut by the back of his neck, and pulled him sharply backward.

The crew-cut man staggered a couple of steps and almost fell.

"Fuck! Who the hell..."

Lin Feng stood in front of him.

"Your grandfather."

The crew-cut man paused for a moment, then laughed:

"Hey, another busybody here? Kid, you think you can take on four by yourself?"

Lin Feng ignored him and turned to look at Liu Jiaqi:

Are you alright?

Liu Jiaqi looked at him without saying a word, but tears were on her face, her lips were trembling, and she was huddled against the wall. The zipper of her school uniform was half-open, revealing the white T-shirt underneath.

Lin Feng looked at her for two seconds, then turned back and punched the crew-cut man in the face.

"Bang……!"

The crew-cut man's nose started bleeding profusely, and he stumbled back two steps.

"Fuck you! Get him!" The blond-haired man grabbed a stick and charged forward.

Lin Feng dodged to the side and kicked him in the stomach. The blond man groaned and bent over as he backed away.

Two other men rushed up, one punching him straight in the face, the other kicking his leg from the side.

Lin Feng dodged the punch that came flying at him, but not the kick. His knee buckled and he knelt on one knee.

"Lin Feng!" Liu Jiaqi called out.

Lin Feng gritted his teeth, stood up, picked up a brick from the ground, and threw it at the nearest man.

The brick hit the man's shoulder, and he cried out and took a few steps back.

But there were too many people, the alley was too narrow, and there was another person on the other side holding a stick.

Four against one, Lin Feng was hit repeatedly, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

But when he turned to look at Liu Jiaqi, a smile played on his lips:

"It's okay! Close your eyes and don't look. With me here, they can't touch you."

Liu Jiaqi looked at Lin Feng, who was being beaten repeatedly, covered her mouth, and tears streamed down her face.

The crew-cut man wiped the blood from his nose, picked up a stick from the ground, and went around to Lin Feng's back.

"Kid, you're fucking asking for it."

Lin Feng had just knocked the blond man down and hadn't even had time to turn around.

Then came a muffled "bang".

My head felt like it had been hit by a truck; everything went black, my ears were ringing, and my brain felt like it was exploding.

He stood there, stunned.

Bright red blood trickled down his temples, across his cheeks, and dripped onto his clothes.

Lin Feng reached up and touched his head; his hand was covered in blood.

Then he slowly turned around, looked at Liu Jiaqi, and said these words as if he had used the last of his strength:

"Quick...run!!"

He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but then his eyes rolled back and he collapsed.

Liu Jiaqi covered her mouth, her eyes wide open, her expression changing from fear to shock, and finally to despair.

She screamed in anguish, "Lin Feng..."

"Holy crap! Someone's...someone's dead! Run!" The blond-haired man turned and ran.

The other two followed suit. The man with the crew cut looked at Lin Feng, then at the stick in his hand, threw the stick away, and ran off as well.

The alleyway quieted down.
