On July 12th, Huanan No. 4 Middle School officially started its summer vacation.

When Lin Feng came out of the examination room, the sun was blazing.

The playground was full of students carrying their schoolbags, chattering away like birds released from their cages.

He glanced down at his phone; it was Friday, July 12th.

Tomorrow is the day I made an appointment with Liu Chengcheng.

Ever since the day she confessed her feelings, this girl has been sending him a bunch of text messages every day, with all sorts of different contents.

Yesterday's comment was: "I tried on the skirt today, and my legs felt so cold. It's so embarrassing to wear this!"

The day before yesterday it was: "My mom asked me if I was dating someone, and I said yes. She said, 'Don't be fooled, you wouldn't be lying to me, would you?'"

Lin Feng replied to every message, but his replies were brief. Liu Chengcheng didn't mind and continued sending messages on her own.

He put his phone in his pocket and got into the car.

Just as I started the engine, Song Yan called.

"How did the exam go?"

"Not bad." Lin Feng turned the steering wheel with one hand. "Are you free tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? Didn't you make plans with Liu Chengcheng?"

Lin Feng was taken aback: "How did you know?"

Song Yan's tone was unreadable, but it conveyed a sense of helplessness.

"She came to my class yesterday. She said, 'Hello, sister-in-law, I'm Lao San, please take care of me in the future.'"

Lin Feng covered his temple and remained silent for two seconds.

"and then?"

Then I said, "Okay."

Song Yan paused for a moment, then asked, "Lin Feng, how many are you planning to take in?"

"I have no plans."

"You didn't plan to only accept three?"

"Liu Chengcheng is different."

"What's different?"

Lin Feng thought for a moment and said, "She's my brother, and I don't want him to have any regrets."

"Hehe, only you could come up with such a reason. Where are you guys going to eat tomorrow? I'll come too."

"Are you going too?"

"Hmm, I'll help you check her out. What if she tries to force money on you again? Love based on monetary transactions is illegal."

Lin Feng noticed the slight sourness in Song Yan's tone and said with a faint smile, "Okay, I'll send you the address later."

After hanging up the phone, he sent Liu Jiaqi a text message: "I'm having lunch with Liu Chengcheng tomorrow, and Song Yan will be there too."

Liu Jiaqi replied instantly: "Do you want me to come with you?"

Lin Feng thought for a moment and said, "You can come if you want."

"Never mind, you guys eat. Come find me tonight."

"OK."

Liu Jiaqi was a bit cunning; what was the point of going out to dinner with them? It was better to keep Lin Feng's time in the evening.

He threw his phone on the center console, stepped on the gas, and drove off.

On Saturday noon, the highest temperature in Huanan County reached 32℃.

Lin Feng parked his car downstairs at Liu Chengcheng's apartment building and sent a text message: "Arrived."

Five minutes later, the building entrance door opened.

Liu Chengcheng came out, wearing a white dress that reached just to her knees, white flat sandals, her hair down, and lipstick and eyeshadow on.

Her walking posture was unnatural; she took small steps, as if afraid her skirt would fly up if she walked too fast.

I used to always put my hands in my pockets, but now I don't know where to put them, so I just hold onto the hem of my skirt.

Lin Feng leaned against the car door, watching her walk over, and couldn't help but smile.

She's really good-looking. Liu Chengcheng usually wears school uniforms or T-shirts and jeans, looking very dashing.

After changing into a dress, her heroic spirit remained, but she gained a softer touch, like a piece of jade that had been polished smooth, both bright and lustrous.

But her expression didn't match the dress at all—her brows were slightly furrowed, her lips were pursed, and her eyes looked like she was about to fight.

"What are you looking at!" Liu Chengcheng walked up to him, glared at him, and said, "Haven't you ever seen a woman before? Are you coming or not?"

Lin Feng smiled and opened the car door: "General, please get in."

Liu Chengcheng bent down and climbed into the passenger seat. The movement was so big that her skirt brushed against the car door. She quickly tugged at it and muttered, "This lousy thing doesn't look neat at all."

Lin Feng got into the car and started the engine.

Liu Chengcheng sat in the passenger seat, constantly tugging at her skirt, sometimes pulling it down, sometimes pressing down on her thighs, and sometimes bringing her legs together.

"Relax a bit," Lin Feng said.

Liu Chengcheng glared at him. "I can't relax! I feel a draft down there!"

"All skirts are like this."

"Don't make me wear it next time!"

You look great in that outfit.

Liu Chengcheng paused for a moment, her face flushed slightly, and she turned her head to look out the window: "Beautiful my ass."

Lin Feng smiled but didn't reply.

The car headed towards the newly opened Western restaurant in Huanan County.

Liu Chengcheng's phone rang several times on the way, but she glanced at it and didn't answer.

"Who is it?" Lin Feng asked.

"What an idiot."

"What idiot?"

"His name is Zhang Hao. He's been pursuing me for months, it's so annoying." Liu Chengcheng stuffed her phone into her bag. "He even said he wanted to treat me to dinner today, but I told him I have a boyfriend, and he didn't believe me."

Seeing that Lin Feng's expression didn't change and he didn't seem inclined to respond, she continued:

"If he keeps pushing his luck, I'll get someone to beat him up."

Lin Feng's lips twitched. She really is a tomboy!

When they arrived at the Western restaurant, Lin Feng parked his car.

Song Yan had arrived, wearing a pink short-sleeved shirt and jeans, and was standing at the door playing on her phone.

Upon seeing Lin Feng's car, she looked up, her gaze first falling on Lin Feng, then shifting to Liu Chengcheng in the passenger seat, scrutinizing her from head to toe.

Liu Chengcheng got out of the car, walked up to Song Yan, straightened her back, and said in a loud voice, "Hello, sister-in-law!"

People coming in and out of the Western restaurant all looked over.

Song Yan gave an awkward smile: "Hello."

"My sister-in-law is here today too, that's great! Let's eat together as a family!" Liu Chengcheng wasn't shy at all, and took Song Yan's arm as they walked inside.

Song Yan was pulled by her, and she turned around to look at Lin Feng, her eyes saying: What's wrong with this guy?

Lin Feng followed behind, suppressing a laugh.

The three of them found a seat by the window. They ordered three black pepper steaks, one pasta dish, one fruit salad, three cream of mushroom soups, and three tiramisu dishes.

They both asked Raymond Lam to order for them, so he simply ordered the same thing for both of them so that neither of them could complain.

While waiting for the food, Liu Chengcheng took a small box out of her bag and handed it to Song Yan.

"Sister-in-law, this is for you."

Song Yan was stunned for a moment: "What?"

"A gift to mark our meeting," Liu Chengcheng said matter-of-factly. "You're the eldest, I'm the third, so I have to show you respect."

Song Yan opened the box, inside was a silver bracelet, simple in design, but it didn't look cheap.

"This... I can't accept it." Song Yan pushed it back.

"Why can't I accept it? I didn't poison it." Liu Chengcheng pushed it back, "If you don't accept it, you're looking down on me."

Song Yan looked at Lin Feng.

Lin Feng nodded.

Song Yan accepted the bracelet and said thank you.

Liu Chengcheng grinned, looking like a fool.
