Audrey reached out and took the two coins that were hers.

The silver coin was very light; she could barely feel its weight in her palm. She flipped the coin over, and its surface reflected a pale gold hue in the light of the gray fog.

"Thank you, Mr. Tower."

Alger took the coin, and time rewound.

This power is indeed very valuable, and it's all free. It seems that this powerful Mr. Tower, besides his strength, also has noble character.

Chen Chen took out a second bag from under the table.

This bag is smaller than the previous one, made of the same material, but the drawstring at the opening is a different color.

He untied the knot, and a silver coin slid into his palm.

When viewed against the light of the gray fog, the edge of the silver coin had a faint golden halo, which was more pronounced than the coin itself.

Chen Chen placed the silver coin on the table and pushed it half an inch toward Klein.

"Mr. Fool."

"This retrograde coin has a retrograde duration of thirty seconds. It is applicable to sequences up to sequence four. Sequences three and above will experience decay. This is the highest version I can currently craft."

"The followers of Mr. Fool are bound to encounter misfortune as they walk through the world. This coin may come in handy at a crucial moment. Please accept it, Mr. Fool."

Klein looked at the silver coin on the table, his face calm.

I couldn't help but feel surprised.

How did he... construct items above the gray fog?!

The gray fog obscured his expression.

The fact that the Tower could push the applicable sequence of extraordinary creations up to sequence three is indeed surprising in its precision and stability.

What is the concept of Sequence Three? It is below the Saints and above the Mortals.

Can a Sequence 7 to Sequence 5 artisan create extraordinary items suitable for Sequence 3 and below?

Or rather, is he already close to Sequence Three?

"A fine creation."

Klein spoke calmly, reaching out to pick up the silver coin from the table.

He flipped the silver coin over between his fingers, its pale golden halo standing out clearly in the gray mist.

The initial surprise gradually subsided; it turned out to be just a construct of memories in my mind...

To have grasped the rules of the gray fog so quickly... truly worthy of being called an extraordinary expert...

Chen Chen lowered his head slightly.

"Mr. Fool, you flatter me."

Audrey's gaze swept back and forth between the Fool and the Tower.

Mr. Fool and Mr. Quata's creations are exquisite.

Her understanding of this sentence was simple: Mr. Tower's craftsmanship had been recognized by Mr. Fool.

This gave her even more confidence in her glasses.

Alger's understanding goes on a deeper level.

The Fool is not praising the gift itself, but the exquisite craftsmanship of creation.

An extraordinary item that can affect the existence of Sequence 3, regardless of its function, has already surpassed most sealed items on the market in terms of stability alone.

Alger withdrew his gaze.

The two silver coins in his hand suddenly felt heavier.

Klein looked up at the three of them and spoke slowly.

"This time, the tower quickly detected the rules of the gray fog."

"If you have items that you wish to trade or give away, you must first complete a prayer in the real world and offer the items to Me. I will then act as your intermediary and bestow them upon the appropriate person. The recipient will then receive the corresponding item upon returning to the real world."

"Only a carrier that purely carries information can be built directly on top of the gray fog."

"Are there any other requests you would like to make?"

There was a few moments of silence.

"That concludes today's gathering."

"As usual, every Monday at 3 PM."

The three projections disappeared one after another.

Chen Chen's consciousness returned to the chair in the study.

I opened the drawer and took out the three velvet bags.

Two of each, one for five seconds and one for ten seconds, are marked with ink from Audrey and Alger.

In reality, silently recite the three names of the Fool, hold a Tarot card, and spiritually guide the object into the gray fog passage.

Chen Chen stood up and walked to the open space in the center of the study.

He spread out his left hand, palm up, and with his right hand neatly arranged the silver coins belonging to Audrey and Alger, as well as the silver coins for the Fool.

Then draw that tarot card.

A tall tower.

He flipped the card between his fingers and pressed it under his palm.

He closed his eyes and tapped his consciousness one by one with the three passages that Klein had just read.

"A fool who does not belong to this era."

"The mysterious ruler above the gray fog."

"The King of Yellow and Black, who holds the key to good fortune."

Spiritual energy flowed from his fingertips, and the aura of gray mist appeared in the air for a moment. The silver coin in his palm felt slightly warm before disappearing.

The fog channel is closed.

Chen Chen opened his eyes, and the silver coin in his palm had disappeared.

……

……

Pesfield Street, North of Backlund.

The spire of St. Samuel Church casts a long, narrow shadow in the afternoon sunlight, the Gothic main building made of gray stone is solemn and steady, and the stained windows reflect colorful patches.

Chen Chen did not enter through the main entrance.

He walked north along the church's outer wall, passing through a narrow alley.

The alley is flanked by gray stone walls of a church compound, with the branches of tall black cypress trees extending out from the walls, casting a deep shadow over the alley.

The air grew quieter, and the sounds of horse-drawn carriages on Pesfield Street became barely audible.

Chen Chen stopped in front of an iron gate.

The iron gate is embedded in the inner side of the wall, and it is easy to miss if you are not looking for it, even when passing through the alley.

The emblem of the Church of the Night can be seen above the iron gate.

Chen Chen grasped the copper ring and knocked it three times.

After waiting for quite some time, the iron gate opened a crack.

Behind the door stood a young nun in a dark monastic robe.

"I request an audience with Ms. Ariana. Please convey to her that Price Chen requests an audience."

The nun glanced at Chen Chen, and then closed the door again.

Not long after.

The iron gate opened again.

The person who opened the door was different.

The monk's robes were darker in color, with more layers of pleats at the collar, and the monk was older.

"Come with me."

Behind the door is a stone-paved corridor.

The corridor was narrow, and it would be crowded if two people walked side by side.

A niche candle is embedded at intervals on both sides, and the corridor ends at a small prayer pavilion area.

Further ahead, on the left, is a side door leading into the interior of St. Samuel's Church.

The former ascetic courtyard suddenly unfolds at the bend in the corridor.

A vacant lot paved with rough bluestone slabs.

Several black cypress trees formed a sparse screen around the courtyard, their canopies blocking out most of the sky, leaving only a few broken spots of light.

Deep within the courtyard lies the main building of the Night Monastery.

It is shorter and smaller than the St. Samuel Cathedral in front of it, with no carvings on the gray stone walls, and only a few small holes at the top let in a little light.

The guide stopped in front of a wooden door.

She pushed open the door and stepped aside.

inside the room.

A wooden table and a chair.

A person is sitting in the chair.

She's hard to notice at first glance.

Her presence seemed diluted by something, blending into the shadows and candlelight of the room.

On the second look, the facial features emerged from the shadows.

Her face was plain and ordinary, with nothing particularly striking about it.

A pair of dark eyes were calm and distant, as if they were immersed in the deepest night, and long black hair was naturally scattered.

She was wearing a plain-colored, coarse linen robe with many patches, and a simple belt made of tree bark around her waist.

Barefoot.

Ariana.

The Hidden Servant of the Night Path Sequence Two, the head of the thirteen archbishops of the Night Church.

Her gaze fell on Chen Chen.

Chen Chen stood one step inside the doorway.

He waited until the footsteps behind him disappeared at the end of the corridor and the wooden door was completely closed before speaking.

"Ms. Ariana".

"I need to travel to Tingen soon. There, I plan to meet with a lady named Daly Simone."

Chen Chen looked up at her reaction, and after confirming that he had received her tacit approval, he continued to speak.

"My Lord has no desire to seize power in this world, nor to touch the barrier of the original Creator. He only seeks a safe ascension and a peaceful journey."

Chen Chen paused deliberately, giving the goddess of the night ample time to communicate with her.

"Something will happen in Tingen. I won't personally interfere with how those things go. But some things might change because of someone other than me."

The silence lasted for a long time.

Ariana raised her right hand, her fingers long and slender.

"He already knows."

Chen Chen bowed slightly in acknowledgment and took a step back.

Push open the wooden door and step into the corridor.

The guide was waiting for him at the end of the corridor.

She led him back the way they came, and Chen Chen stood in the narrow alley for a moment.

An implicit cooperation was established.

The goddess of night tacitly approved of his subsequent actions.

As for how the goddess will use this underhanded tactic, I don't currently have the ability to consider such things.

The unfamiliar sequence within oneself cannot be hidden. If one wants to develop peacefully by Klein's side, one cannot avoid this guardian deity.

More importantly, Klein is an invaluable resource for his future advancement ceremony.
