The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"Besides 'Project J,' the film 'Battle of Wits' has also been greenlit..."

As he spoke, the eldest brother looked at the youngest brother and said, "The female lead for 'A Battle of Wits' will be given to Li Bingbing."

Li Bingbing is currently Huayi Brothers' top female star, and they must keep her on their side. Otherwise, if Li Bingbing were to terminate her contract and switch companies, it would have a huge impact on Huayi Brothers.

Last year, this happened once already. If Li Bingbing leaves again this time, Huayi Brothers may be powerless to recover.

Originally, Fan Bingbing was cast as the female lead in the movie "A Battle of Wits," but she has since left Huayi Brothers to work for Kyoto Animation and is now making movies in Hollywood.

"Okay, big brother!"

As Mr. Wang spoke, a ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.

He had already made up his mind. Right now, Huayi Brothers had no choice but to keep Li Bingbing in check. Once Huayi Brothers became a big company in the future, he would definitely deal with these artists properly.

"Let's start filming a few more TV series!"

The king rubbed his temples, feeling somewhat weary.

With so many contracted actors, Huayi Brothers can only secure the top actors by producing two dramas. As for the other less popular actors, they can only rely on producing a couple more dramas to keep them afloat.

However, it's not like you can start filming a TV series whenever you want.

Huayi Brothers currently has two TV series projects in production: "The Deer and the Cauldron" starring Huang Xiaoming and "Young Warriors of the Yang Clan," a project in collaboration with Tangren Media, with Tangren Media taking the lead rather than Huayi Brothers.

"Go out and look for some TV drama scripts now, and let me know if you find any suitable ones."

Huayi Brothers is currently facing its most difficult time. Other entertainment companies are not only not using Huayi's contracted actors, but they are also not seeking to collaborate with Huayi on projects.

Entertainment companies face significant risks. The investment in a TV series or a movie can easily reach millions or tens of millions of yuan. Before the movie is released or the TV series is sold, no one can be sure that the project will break even.

Therefore, collaborating with other entertainment companies to share the risks is the norm in the entertainment industry.

But now, Huayi Brothers is being shut out of this new normal.

Huayi Brothers is like a mountain in the Chinese entertainment industry; its influence is so great that it can sustain countless others.

If Huayi Brothers were to collapse one day, other entertainment companies in the Chinese entertainment industry would be able to reap huge profits.

Right now, besides Kyoto Entertainment, the people who most want Huayi Brothers to go under are Orange Sky Entertainment and Wang Jinghua.

[Ding! Congratulations, host! Daily check-in successful. Rewards: One bottle of Liuwei Emperor Pills (10 pills) + One bottle of Beauty and Nourishing Pills (10 pills) + 100 million US dollars]

[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have successfully checked in for the festival and received a reward: a Summer Solstice Festival Gift Pack.]

[Host, would you like to open the holiday gift pack?]

"Open!"

In the blink of an eye, ten days or so had passed, and it was now June 21st. After Lin Bufan checked in, he realized that today was the summer solstice.

No wonder it's so hot today.

[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have opened the Summer Solstice Festival Gift Pack and received the following rewards: a script for the movie "Lost in Thailand", a shop in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, and a Mercedes-Benz G-Class.]

As the system's voice faded, several items appeared in front of Lin Bufan.

"Lost in Thailand"

Lin Bufan picked up the script and glanced at it.

The first movie didn't actually have a very high box office; he vaguely remembered that it only had tens of millions. The real box office success started with the second movie, "Lost in Thailand."

However, Lin Bufan believes that the first "Lost in Thailand" had far more laughs than the second.

The main reason for the low box office is the problem with the promotion.

Even Lin Bufan, in his later life, had seen this movie. However, after watching "Lost in Thailand," he realized that "Lost on Journey" was the first one, so he searched for and watched it online.

Of course, this was also largely due to the scarcity of cinemas at the time.

The increasing box office revenue of domestic films in later generations is often related to the increase in the number of cinemas.

In 2005, there were only over 6,000 movie screens nationwide, but by 2020, the number had reached over 75,000.

The more movie screens there are, the higher the potential for movie box office revenue will be.

Lin Bufan put the script aside for the time being, and then picked up two items next to him, the first being the property certificate of the shop in Causeway Bay.

The property certificate shows that the shop is located in Causeway Bay, one of the most bustling areas in Hong Kong. It is a single-story shop with an area of 320 square meters.

This shop is so big that, based on current prices, it would generate at least tens of millions in rent every year.

As for selling it, it's worth over 2 million.

The final reward was just an ordinary Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

"Xiao Bai, call the Olympic bid committee here!"

After Lin Bufan put away the last two rewards, he notified Bai Bing.

"Yes, boss!"

Soon, Bai Bing knocked on the door and came in with Shen Ao.

"Boss!"

"Director Lin!"

"sit!"

Lin Bufan stood up, sat on the sofa, and looked at Shen Ao: "Here's a script, take a look!"

"Yes, Director Lin!"

Upon hearing this, Shen Ao glanced at the cover of "Lost in Thailand" and then picked up the script to study it carefully.

"Finished watching?"

About half an hour later, Shen Ao put down the script.

"If I give you this script, can you bring it to life?"

Lin Bufan originally planned to gain more experience in the Olympic bid for a while, not only because he lacked experience, but also because the company did not have any suitable projects.

Most of the big-budget projects are in Hollywood; apart from "Painted Skin," there aren't any domestic film projects.

Now, we've just landed a contract for this film, "Lost in Thailand." First of all, the film's budget isn't large, and the visuals don't require too much skill.

Based on the experience of bidding for the Olympics, filming should not be a problem.

"Leave it to me?"

Shen Ao was taken aback at first, then looked at Lin Bufan with excitement: "Director Lin, don't worry, I will definitely not let you down."

"I trust you!"

Lin Bufan patted the other person on the shoulder.

If you employ someone, trust them; if you don't trust someone, don't employ them. Once you've chosen someone, you'll believe they can do it.

"Director Lin, I'll study the script carefully when I get back. What about the actors?"

Shen Ao looked to Lin Bufan for instructions.

"As for the actors, I have a list here, take a look..."

As Lin Bufan spoke, he handed the prepared list to the other party.

The most indispensable character in the "Lost in..." series of films is Wang Baoqiang; most people simply cannot portray that kind of feeling.

For example, in the third installment of the "Lost in..." series, Baoqiang's role was replaced by Bao Beier, whose performance was extremely awkward and not funny at all.

In addition, Lin Bufan decided to give the role of Manny, the second female lead in "Lost in Thailand" and the mistress of the protagonist Li Chenggong, to Angela Yang Ying.

This role doesn't require much acting skill; being a pretty face is enough, and Angela Yang Ying is currently best suited to playing that kind of role.
