The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

[Ding! Congratulations, host! Daily check-in successful. You have received the following rewards: one bottle of Liuwei Emperor Pills (10 pills) + one bottle of Beauty and Nourishing Pills (10 pills) + 100 million US dollars.]

[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have successfully checked in for the festival and received a reward: a Autumnal Equinox Festival Gift Pack]

[Host, would you like to open the holiday gift pack?]

"Open!"

Lin Bufan opened his phone and glanced at it. Today was August 23rd, and another week had passed in the blink of an eye.

From the initial adjustment period of the crew, the filming process is now progressing smoothly.

The shooting speed is also constantly increasing.

[Ding! Congratulations, host! You have opened the Autumnal Equinox Festival Gift Pack and received the following rewards: a script for the movie "Inception", a villa in Ziyu Mountain Villa, and a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.]

"The reward this time is so generous..."

Lin Bufan's eyes lit up instantly.

Lin Bufan knew about the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, a two-seater sports car that was just launched this year and is considered the flagship model of the year. It made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March of this year.

Equipped with a 6.0L V12 engine, it has a maximum power of 620 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, and has a top speed of 330 km/h. The entire body uses a carbon fiber braking system and a double wishbone suspension, so its handling and stability are excellent. The only drawback is its high price. All-inclusive price for this car is around 6 million yuan.

A car costing 600 million yuan is equivalent to the price of a villa or a small courtyard house, even in Beijing.

However, he remembered that Liu Yifei liked Ferraris, and her favorite was red. Coincidentally, this Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano was a red sports car.

"I'll give her a surprise when I get back to China!"

As soon as Lin Bufan thought of Liu Yifei, a smile involuntarily appeared on his face. He then carefully put the car keys into his dimensional space.

Immediately afterwards, Lin Bufan picked up the property certificate for the villa and glanced at it.

Ziyu Villa is located between the Fourth and Fifth Ring Roads, next to the Olympic Park, and is considered a high-end villa in Beijing.

"This villa..."

Lin Bufan thought for a moment and made a decision.

Then, he picked up the script for the movie "Inception".

If he had signed on to this movie earlier, perhaps he wouldn't have made "2012" and would have gone straight to making "Inception".

Putting aside how mind-bending the plot is, the simplest thing about this movie is that it grossed over 8 million US dollars worldwide.

That alone is enough to say nothing more.

"Knock knock knock!"

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Enter!"

"Boss"

Carter and Bai Bing walked in.

"The post-production of 'BOSS: Death' is complete, and it's ready for release at any time," Carter said excitedly as he looked at Lin Bufan.

Since he took over Extraordinary Pictures, he has released three films. The first one, "Manchester by the Sea," had a poor box office performance. Even with all the box office revenue combined, the film did not break even.

It's just that we won't lose money; we can gradually recoup our costs by selling discs later on.

Furthermore, this film was originally intended to win awards, not to achieve box office success.

The second film, "Insidious," grossed $1.8 million at the box office, while the production cost of the film was only $150 million.

Such high box office numbers made Extraordinary Pictures an instant success.

Even his name, Carter, is becoming increasingly popular in Hollywood, with numerous parties inviting him daily. He has noticed that he has started to gain weight recently, and his figure is gradually becoming rounder.

In particular, many Hollywood actresses are now throwing themselves at him.

"As for the release date of 'Bleach,' let's set it for a month from now!"

Lin Bufan considered it for a moment.

In the United States, schedules are hardly discussed; publicity is the only thing that matters.

Just like "Lurking", although the production cost was low, only 150 million US dollars, tens of millions of US dollars were directly invested in the later promotion and distribution.

Otherwise, how could a low-budget film have managed to gross over $1.8 million at the box office?

However, once the reputation of Extraordinary Pictures is established, as long as there aren't too many films released at the same time, they will be able to save a lot of money on promotion.

"Yes, Boss!"

Carter responded and then placed a document on the table: "Boss, this is the filming schedule for 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and 'Insidious 2'..."

Since Lin Bufan gave the instructions, Carter has been looking for people to prepare for the two films.

At this point, both films were ready for production and could begin filming at any time.

"Okay, let's proceed with this filming schedule!"

Lin Bufan took a close look at the shooting plan and nodded.

If he were in China, it would be fine; he could simply be a hands-off boss. But he's in Hollywood. If he doesn't even approve of the company's projects, what will people think?

"Yes, Boss!"

Carter hesitated for a moment, then looked at Lin Bufan: "Boss, the company currently has several films piling up. Should we consider external collaborations?"

As a professional manager at Extraordinary Pictures, he naturally hopes the company will continue to thrive.

Only in this way can his position become more and more stable, and his status in Hollywood become higher and higher.

He had read all the scripts that the company had backlogged, and they were all very good movies. He couldn't say whether they would be huge hits, but they definitely wouldn't lose money.

Movies like *Home Alone*, *World War Z*, *I Am Legend*, and *Pirates of the Caribbean*...

The main reason for not filming now is that Extraordinary Pictures doesn't have enough funds.

Apart from "Home Alone," the other three films all had budgets of hundreds of millions of US dollars.

His idea was that if it was too difficult to work alone, he could cooperate with other companies to share the financial pressure and risks.

"No need!"

Lin Bufan waved his hand and refused.

If he were in the country, he would think that it's not good to keep everything to himself, and that he should always cooperate with others.

But it's different in Hollywood.

It's common knowledge that the Hollywood Big Eight all have their cake and eat it too. You've never heard of them sharing the pie with others; it's a miracle they don't steal the cake.

Each of these projects is profitable, and Lin Bufan is certainly not foolish enough to share the pie that's already in his mouth.

After quickly finishing up these company matters, it was already past 3 PM. At this time, there was no way to continue filming, so I had to take a day off.

"Xiao Bai, inform the crew that we're taking a day off today."

Originally, Lin Bufan had planned to finish dealing with company matters in the morning and continue filming in the afternoon.

"Yes, boss!"

Just as Bai Bing relayed the message, Lin Bufan's phone rang.

He thought it was a call from China, but when he took out his phone, he saw it was Jessica Alba calling with only one purpose: to invite him to dinner.
