The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

Although the variety show department was not separated, Lin Bufan would not reduce the bonuses by a single penny after the company's projects became profitable.

Based on an annual profit of 50 million, 20%, or 10 million, is the bonus for all the staff of the variety show.

Of the profits, 5% went to the program's director, Hong Tao, which amounted to 250 million yuan.

As the manager of the variety show department, Sun Jinghai can receive 2% of the profits, which is one million.

The remaining 650 million yuan went to the entire behind-the-scenes staff of "The Voice of China" program.

The show only has about fifty or sixty staff members behind the scenes, so on average, each person can receive a bonus of nearly 10 yuan.

In Lin Bufan's case, it has always been a case of the more you work, the more you earn.

Lin Bufan disdained all such empty promises.

Compared to what I've earned, what are the bonuses my employees receive? They're just small change.

The key is that once this money is distributed, the employees below will definitely not slack off in order to improve the show's ratings. Anyone who slacks off is just throwing away their money.

This was Lin Bufan's idea, but the people below didn't think so.

It's only 2006 now, and the average salary is only 2,000 yuan. At Lin Bufan's Kyoto Entertainment, you can get an annual bonus of 100,000 yuan. What kind of figure is that?

In fact, it's no exaggeration to say that 10 yuan is enough to buy a 60-square-meter apartment in the suburbs of Beijing, or even in a district further out of the city, such as Changping District.

……

"Boss!"

After Sun Jinghai sat down, Wang Mingliang stood up.

Currently, Kyoto Entertainment is only involved in two film projects. One is "Crazy Stone," which is scheduled to have a preview screening on the evening of September 30th and will be officially released on October 1st.

Secondly, there's the movie "Lost in Thailand".

Filming for "Lost in Thailand" has already wrapped up, and post-production is complete. All that's left is to set a release date.

"Lost in Thailand" is scheduled for release on February 18th next year.

Lin Bufan thought for a moment and looked at Wang Mingliang.

Currently, the only film season in the domestic market is the Lunar New Year film season. This concept can be traced back to Feng Xiaogang's 97 film "The Dream Factory". Since then, the concept of the Lunar New Year film season has been established in China.

It wasn't until 10 years later, with the phenomenal box office success of "Avatar," that domestic film companies realized the value of the New Year film season.

Naturally, in later generations, most high-grossing films appeared during the New Year's season.

"February 18th... Boss, that's the first day of the lunar month!"

Wang Mingliang did some mental calculations and then looked at Lin Bufan.

Compared to the wildly popular New Year film seasons of later years, 06 was not a particularly good year at all.

"I know!"

Lin Bufan said, his eyes shining as he looked at everyone: "Since Feng Xiaogang of Huayi Brothers can create a Lunar New Year film season, why can't we in Beijing launch our own?"

Lin Bufan didn't want to wait 10 years, and why should the domestic New Year film season only start when foreign films flood in?

Why can't Kyoto Entertainment open up a New Year's film season?

"Lost in Thailand" was Kyoto Entertainment's pioneer in opening up the New Year's film season.

Most importantly, the content of the movie "Lost in Thailand" fits perfectly with the release date, and it's also a comedy film with a happy family atmosphere.

"The publicity department, when you're promoting 'Lost in Thailand,' remember to emphasize terms like 'family-friendly' and 'comedy,' understand?"

"Yes, boss!"

Xu Shuai from the Publicity Department nodded earnestly.

Since Kyoto was established, the publicity department has never let us down, whether it was the release of "Love is Not Blind" or the end of "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" last month.

"Boss, Chairman Han from China Film Group wants to host a celebration banquet for 'Flying Swords of Dragon Gate,' what do you think?"

After discussing the schedule, Wang Mingliang immediately reported the news.

Normally, if a movie is successful, a celebration banquet is held either after the movie has finished its run and the box office figures have stopped changing.

Alternatively, they could use the celebratory banquet a few days before the film's run ends to further boost box office revenue and see if it can continue to rise.

But now that "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" has been out of theaters for more than a month, it's really too late to hold a celebration banquet.

"Forget about the celebration banquet. I'll talk to Chairman Han about this myself later."

Lin Bufan waved his hand.

The movie has been out of theaters for over a month, so holding a celebration party now isn't really a good idea.

It's just that Lin Bufan wasn't in China at the time; he was filming a movie in Hollywood, so he couldn't hold a celebration banquet.

As both the producer and distributor, China Film Group could have held a celebration banquet, but since the film's lead actor and director, Lin Bufan, was absent, even if a celebration banquet were held, it would seem somewhat anticlimactic.

Therefore, China Film Group did not hold the event.

"Boss, the TV series 'Zhu Yuanzhang' and 'My Own Swordsman' have finished filming..." Kang Xiangwen, the manager of the TV series production department, looked at Lin Bufan.

The TV series has finished filming and is currently in post-production.

"but……"

Kang Xiangwen was somewhat embarrassed.

The main problem is that TV dramas are difficult to sell.

"Zhu Yuanzhang" is a period drama, and with the revisions by the scriptwriting department, it is closer to a historical drama. Generally, such TV series do not have very high ratings, so they are not easy to sell.

In particular, Kyoto Entertainment's first attempt at entering the television drama production industry resulted in a rather ordinary relationship with the television station.

In fact, Kyoto Entertainment has already fallen out with Hunan TV because they poached Hong Tao from Hunan TV.

"Contact Shanghai TV and see if they are interested."

Lin Bufan didn't have a good solution to this either.

However, he believed that all of this was temporary, and that the situation would definitely change as Kyoto Entertainment produced more high-quality dramas in the future.

"Let's change the name of the TV series..."

Lin Bufan pondered the name "Zhu Yuanzhang" for a moment; it was indeed a bit too ordinary.

"Change it to 'The Great Ming Empire: Hongwu Emperor'"

Changing it to this name, just hearing the name gives people a completely different feeling.

Most importantly, an idea popped into Lin Bufan's mind.

There were a total of sixteen emperors in the Ming Dynasty. He plans to make a series of TV dramas, starting with the Hongwu Emperor and ending with the Chongzhen Emperor.

Huayi Brothers, don't you like making period dramas?

Since that's the case, then I, Kyoto, will film a historical drama about the Ming Dynasty.

"Yes, boss!"

Kang Xiangwen nodded.

……

Lin Bufan spent the entire day in company meetings.

As the company becomes a conglomerate, there are many things he needs to do personally.

"What do you think of this restaurant?"

Lin Bufan looked at Gao Yuanyuan sitting opposite him and asked with a smile.
