The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

Alice in Wonderland

Lin Bufan picked up the movie script and glanced at it. The script was adapted from the work of Lewis Carroll, an author from Country Y.

Disney adapted this fairy tale into an animated film in the 1950s.

At the same time, this film was also produced by Disney in the original timeline.

However, the script for this movie is now in Lin Bufan's hands.

Lin Bufan lightly traced the cover of the script with his finger. He knew that once Extraordinary Pictures produced this movie, Disney would definitely sue Extraordinary Pictures for copyright infringement.

However, according to Western copyright law, the copyright of Lewis Carroll's fairy tale only lasted for 70 years after his death.

Even Disney didn't obtain the authorization from Lewis Carroll back then, because he had been dead for over sixty years.

"So what if we go to court? What's there to be afraid of..."

Lin Bufan didn't care at all.

Making money is the most important thing. As for copyright issues, Disney didn't get authorization from the author back then, so no one should criticize anyone else.

"Knock knock knock!"

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Enter!"

Lin Bufan put the script away.

"Boss, Ms. Lin Zhiling is here!"

Bai Bing knocked on the door and came in.

"Let her in!"

Lin Bufan nodded slightly.

Yesterday, Lin Zhiling called him, wanting to see him. Unable to resist her request, Lin Bufan had no choice but to agree.

"Director Lin!"

A few minutes later, Lin Zhiling followed Bai Bing into Lin Bufan's office.

"Miss Lin, please have a seat!"

Lin Bufan sat on the sofa, looking at Lin Zhiling and gesturing to her.

To look her best, Lin Chih-ling has dressed up carefully today, wearing a white, hip-length skirt, and sitting down with her legs together and leaning to one side.

"Miss Lin, you didn't come here just for the role of Wang Jiazhi, did you?"

Lin Bufan leaned back on the sofa, sizing up the other person with his eyes.

It has to be said that Lin Chih-ling is truly a stunning beauty. Every smile, every gesture, she knows exactly how to captivate a man's heart.

Speaking of which, in Lin Bufan's first commercial film, "Love is Not Blind," the Taiwanese girl played by the other woman was actually her own performance.

The movie "Love is Not Blind" not only made Huang Xiaoxian, played by Yang Mi, and Wang Xiaojian, played by Zhu Yawen, famous, but also made the character played by Lin Zhiling famous.

If Yang Mi hadn't betrayed him back then, he would have already had his way with Lin Zhiling.

"Of course not..."

Lin Zhiling responded to Lin Bufan in a slightly coquettish voice, "I have a work commitment in mainland China this time, and I happen to be in Beijing, so I came to see Director Lin!"

There's a mix of truth and falsehood in what she said.

It's true, she really didn't come for the role. She knew very well that the role of Wang Jiazhi in "Lust, Caution" was not suitable for her at all.

Based on just one point, the character Wang Jiazhi was originally a student with a pure and innocent temperament, which does not match Lin Zhiling's temperament.

The truth is, she wasn't just passing by; she came specifically for this purpose.

As Lin Bufan and Kyoto Entertainment's status in the industry rose, Lin Zhiling knew that if she didn't make a move soon, the little bit of "friendship" she had with Lin Bufan would completely disappear.

Sometimes, Lin Chih-ling secretly regrets it.

Back when Lin Bufan was at his lowest point, I met her first. If I had been with her then... I might be Mrs. Lin now.

Lin Chih-ling is full of confidence in her looks, figure, and skills with men.

Unfortunately, she missed her chance back then, and now so many women are around Lin Bufan. If she doesn't take the initiative, he might have forgotten about her altogether.

"Is that so..."

Lin Bufan nodded slightly: "In that case, I'd like to invite Miss Lin to dinner tonight. I wonder if Miss Lin Zhiling has the time?"

Everyone here is an adult, and Lin Bufan is an intelligent man, so he instantly understood Lin Zhiling's thoughts.

Some things don't need to be said; it's enough to understand them in your heart.

"Director Lin invited me to dinner. Even if I didn't have time, I would make time for it."

Lin Zhiling answered with a smile.

……

At this moment, outside the audition room of Kyoto Entertainment, dozens of top female celebrities in the industry were divided into three groups and chatting amongst themselves.

They all came for the role of Wang Jiazhi.

Many actresses from Taiwan came this time, including established stars like Lin Yichen, Chen Qiaoen, and Yang Chenglin, as well as newcomers like Chen Yihan, Guo Caijie, Zhang Junning, Guo Biting, Gui Lunmei, and Chen Yanxi.

Chen Yanxi has only just debuted through the movie "Why Why Love" and hasn't yet starred in "You Are the Apple of My Eye" or become the universally beloved Shen Jiayi.

In Hong Kong, the group was led by Cecilia Cheung, and included Isabella Leong, Michelle Yim, Chung Ka-yan, Tsui Tsz-shan, and Lee Choi-wah.

There were quite a few people from the mainland as well, but Lin Bufan had already told Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, and Zhou Xun that they were not suitable for the role, so the three of them did not come.

Zhao came this time, and although she knew that Lin Bufan didn't like her very much, she still wanted to try her best, just in case she could win him over.

Besides Zhao, there are also Sun Li, Chen Hao, Huang Shengyi, Li Xilu, Jiang Qinqin, Miao Pu, Dong Jie, Han Xue, Yuan Quan, Chen Shu, Ma Yili, and Zuo Xiaoqing, among others.

Basically, all the actresses who can come here to audition for the lead role are top-tier actresses in the industry, or at the very least, top-tier second-tier actresses.

Of course, this does not include female celebrities from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Female celebrities from Hong Kong and Taiwan often have the illusion that they are superior to mainland celebrities. Take Taiwan as an example: Guo Caijie is just a newcomer who just debuted this year, yet she auditioned for the lead role in "Lust, Caution".

"Alright, everyone quiet down, line up and get ready for the audition!"

Just as a group of celebrities were chatting, Bai Bing came out of the audition room and turned to look at Taiwan after speaking: "Guo Caijie, you'll be the first to go in for the audition."

"They're here!"

Guo Caijie was delighted upon hearing this and hurriedly followed Bai Bing into the audition room.

"Hello Director Lin, my name is Guo Caijie!"

Upon entering the audition room, Guo Caijie noticed that Lin Bufan was the only person there.

Lin Bufan frowned the moment the other person entered the room.

In his vision, the character Wang Jiazhi not only needed to be pure enough, but also not too short, otherwise how could she pull off the effect of the cheongsam?

Lin Bufan endured watching Guo Caijie's audition the whole time, finding that not only was her figure and height inadequate, but her acting skills were also extremely poor.

"Go back and wait for further instructions!"

Lin Bufan spoke calmly, then turned to Bai Bing, "Xiao Bai, next!"

"Yes, boss!"

Bai Bing, expressionless, led Guo Caijie out, then looked at the crowd: "Guo Biting!"
