The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

As the movie's plot unfolded, everyone present became completely immersed in the story.

It wasn't until the movie ended that everyone came to their senses.

The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause.

Directors, actors, and audiences alike were captivated by the exquisite and somewhat eerie visuals in "Painted Skin."

In terms of plot, after careful consideration, it is infinitely better than before.

……

"Big brother!"

After the premiere, Lin Bufan took Liu Yifei to a dinner party hosted by Jackie Chan's crew.

However, there was no one else at the dinner party except for Cheng Long, Lin Bufan, and Liu Yifei.

"Brother Lin, sister-in-law, please have a seat!"

Upon seeing Lin Bufan and Liu Yifei enter, Cheng Long hurriedly stood up to greet them.

"Brother, there's no need to be so formal!"

After sitting down, the group chatted for a while, and as the food was served, the conversation gradually turned to the movie "The Forbidden Kingdom".

"To be honest, I have a movie I'd like to invite my younger siblings to star in..." Jackie Chan looked at Liu Yifei and described the plot of "The Forbidden Kingdom".

And the news that Liu Yifei was invited to play the female lead.

If Jackie Chan had some concerns about inviting Liu Yifei before today, all those concerns vanished instantly after seeing her performance in "Painted Skin".

"husband……"

Liu Yifei turned to look at Lin Bufan, feeling a little tempted.

After all, "The Forbidden Kingdom" can be considered a Hollywood movie. For actresses of this era and for actresses of future generations, being able to star in a Hollywood movie and play the leading role is a very big temptation.

Lin Bufan gently patted Liu Yifei's hand, indicating that she shouldn't worry, then looked at Cheng Long: "Brother, when will filming for this movie start? How long will it take?"

"If your sister-in-law agrees, we can start filming within a week. The filming is expected to take about 5-6 months." Cheng Long thought for a moment and gave a rough timeframe.

"Sorry, bro, our schedules clash."

Lin Bufan looked helplessly at Cheng Long: "Sissi is scheduled to go to Hollywood to film a movie in August."

"Oh?"

Upon hearing this, Cheng Long looked at Lin Bufan with some curiosity.

"It's a series of films featuring a strong female lead, a project primarily controlled by Extraordinary Films."

Lin Bufan said it simply, without going into too much detail.

"That's really unfortunate."

Cheng Long sighed, feeling somewhat regretful.

He watched "Painted Skin" today. If Liu Yifei could star in "The Forbidden Kingdom," it would definitely boost the box office.

After dinner, Lin Bufan drove Liu Yifei home.

"Honey, do you not think the movie 'The Forbidden Kingdom' will be a success?"

Liu Yifei sat in the passenger seat and looked at Lin Bufan.

Knowing Lin Bufan as she did, if there really were a Hollywood female-led movie series, he would have told her long ago. What he said earlier was just an excuse to politely refuse Jackie Chan.

"Let's not talk about this movie..."

Lin Bufan shook his head slightly.

Although "The Forbidden Kingdom" was a failure in mainland China, it was by no means a failure internationally. Although it did not make a fortune at the box office, it earned at least tens of millions of US dollars from subsequent DVD sales.

It was definitely profitable, and in later generations, Liu Yifei began to make a name for herself internationally thanks to this film.

If there aren't any good projects, taking on this movie would only benefit Liu Yifei, and definitely not harm her.

It's not ten years from now; even if a movie flops, the director won't blame the actors.

"However, what I just mentioned about Hollywood movies with strong female leads isn't a lie either."

The light ahead was red. Lin Bufan slammed on the brakes and turned to look at Liu Yifei.

"real?"

Liu Yifei was somewhat surprised.

"Of course it's true."

Lin Bufan then gave Liu Yifei a brief overview.

The Hollywood female-centric film series he was referring to was actually the Hunger Games film series.

Originally, the female lead of this movie was to be Jennifer Lawrence, who is known as the "big sister" of the actress.

There are several theories about the origin of the nickname "Big Cousin". One is that her surname is a homonym for the brand name "Rolex". The nickname "Big Cousin" is also a playful term for people who wear luxury watches.

Another version of the story is that in 10, when she was nominated for her first Oscar for "Winter's Bone," a popular phrase on the Baidu Oscar forum was: "My cousin/brother is in the Academy, and so-and-so is the shoo-in for the Oscar." The forum moderator liked her a lot at the time and called her "cousin," which later evolved into "big cousin."

There is also a final explanation, saying that she has a straightforward and somewhat funny personality, like a girl next door. Some netizens claimed that they dreamed that she was their cousin, so this nickname spread.

Later, because the person who used the nickname found out about it, and with the marketing efforts of the team, the last explanation became more widespread, but the second explanation is actually more accurate.

Regardless of the explanation, Lin Bufan has a natural case of face blindness when it comes to these Western actresses.

Unless they are distinctive actresses, like Jessica Chastain, who fit Eastern aesthetics, or those with exceptionally high fame, such as Scarlett Johansson, she sometimes can't tell other celebrities apart.

The success of the movie "The Hunger Games" was not mainly due to Jennifer Lawrence's starring role, but rather to its storyline.

Therefore, replacing the lead actress with Liu Yifei wouldn't significantly affect the film's plot.

The final box office results may be affected, but as long as Liu Yifei can go international, Lin Bufan doesn't care about this loss.

Liu Yifei already has a strong foundation in China thanks to her classic roles. If "The Hunger Games" is also a success, all the actresses in China combined won't be able to compete with her alone.

"Honey, I love you so much..."

Liu Yifei got up excitedly and kissed Lin Bufan on the cheek.

Yang Mi has the "Final Destination" series, and Fan Bingbing has the "Taken" series. It's impossible for Liu Yifei not to feel envious.

Now that it's finally her turn, how could she not be happy?

"Stop fooling around, we're driving!"

Lin Bufan turned to look at Liu Yifei and glared at her with annoyance.

"hey-hey!"

Liu Yifei sat obediently in her seat and stuck out her tongue.

…………

After dropping Liu Yifei off, Lin Bufan sat in the car, looking at the note in his hand.

"To go, or not to go?"

Lin Bufan looked at the numbers on the slip of paper, thought for a moment, and made a decision.
