The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"What, you're not welcoming me?"

Zhang Yangguo'er pouted and looked at Zhao Liying: "I know it's the premiere of your first TV series, so I came here especially to be with you!"

I really don't want you to come with me...

Zhao Liying felt like crying but had no tears left to shed.

Of course, she could only think these words in her heart, after all, Zhang Yangguo'er was one of her few friends.

"How could that be? I'm overjoyed!"

Zhao Liying stepped forward, took Zhang Yangguo'er's hand, and sat down on the sofa in the living room.

"Your apartment is nice!"

Zhang Yangguoer glanced at her. As a fellow newcomer, she was just a small-time host at Anhui TV. When she came to Beijing to film, she stayed in a hotel, not an apartment.

"Oh, you've already prepared the wine!"

Zhang Yangguo'er looked at the bottles of wine that Zhao Liying had arranged on the coffee table and exclaimed in surprise, "We thought of the same thing! I also bought RIO!"

RIO cocktails have a low alcohol content, making them quite suitable for women.

"And beer too? You didn't make plans with someone else, did you?"

Suddenly, Zhang Yangguoer noticed the Tsingtao beer on the coffee table. Recalling Zhao Liying's change in expression earlier, she looked at her with a guess in her mind.

"Nobody else, just the boss!"

Zhao Liying knew she couldn't hide it from Zhang Yangguo'er any longer, since Lin Bufan would probably be there soon, so she simply told him directly.

"BOSS? You mean Feng Teng, no, He Shengming?"

Zhang Yangguoer looked at Zhao Liying with some surprise.

Originally, the role of Feng Teng, the BOSS in "Boss & Me," was played by that greasy guy from East District 8. However, since this was a project of their own, and He Shengming was an artist of their own, they directly replaced him with He Shengming to play the role of Feng Teng.

Zhang Yangguo'er was unaware of Zhao Liying's private nickname for Lin Bufan and assumed she was referring to He Shengming, who played Feng Teng in "Boss & Me".

In the TV series, Zhao Liying calls Feng Teng the big boss.

"No, it's my boss, Lin Bufan!"

Zhao Liying hurriedly explained that she didn't want the news to get out because of a misunderstanding.

"Oh, Director Lin?"

Zhang Yangguoer looked at Zhao Liying with surprise: "Liying, what's your relationship with Director Lin?"

Anyone who makes a living in the entertainment industry knows Lin Bufan.

An Oscar-winning director, the head of Kyoto Entertainment Group, and recently nominated for the main competition at the Venice International Film Festival.

Any one of their identities would be considered a big shot in Zhang Yangguo'er's eyes.

Not to mention, several identities are combined in one person.

Furthermore, as a host, she knew even better that Lin Bufan not only held a high position in the entertainment industry, but was also very famous in the fields of finance and investment.

According to information found online, Lin Bufan's net worth is at least 10 billion yuan.

That's 1 billion! Don't forget it's only 2007. In a family where the average monthly income is 2,000, what does 1 billion mean?

Of course, this is just a calculation made by some netizens based on information they could find.

In fact, Lin Bufan himself didn't know how much he was worth, but it was definitely more than 1 billion, or even several billion. With all his assets and company stocks added together, his net worth had already exceeded 10 billion.

However, Lin Bufan doesn't like to show off too much, which is why he didn't announce it to the public.

"Director Lin and I are just friends!"

Zhao Liying hurriedly waved her hands to explain, but in Zhang Yangguo'er's eyes, the more she explained, the weaker it became.

Are you kidding? Would a regular friend watch the premiere with you?

Considering the controversy surrounding Zhao Liying's signing with Kyoto Animation, she became even more certain that there was definitely something more to her relationship with Lin Bufan.

"My relationship with the boss is really just that of ordinary friends..."

Seeing that Zhang Yangguo'er didn't believe her, Zhao Liying explained anxiously.

At least, that's how it is for now.

"Okay, I believe you!"

Zhang Yangguoer stood up and said, "Since Director Lin is coming over later, I won't be a third wheel. I'll be leaving now!"

"Guo'er, I'll invite you next time..."

Zhao Liying stood up somewhat embarrassed, preparing to see Zhang Yangguoer off.

But just then, the doorbell rang again.

Zhao Liying glanced at Zhang Yangguoer, then quickly took two steps and opened the door.

"BOSS!"

Upon seeing Lin Bufan at the door, Zhao Liying exclaimed in surprise.

Why are you so surprised?

Lin Bufan looked at Zhao Liying with a puzzled expression.

How could she not be surprised? This was just too coincidental.

"There's someone inside!"

Lin Bufan walked in, saw Zhang Yangguoer standing to the side, and nodded with a smile.

"Director Lin, hello!"

Zhang Yangguo'er snapped out of her daze and quickly came over, standing somewhat awkwardly in front of him.

Lin Bufan is a big shot in the entertainment industry, and she is just a newcomer. How could she not be nervous in front of such a big shot?

"Your name is..."

Lin Bufan looked at Zhang Yangguoer. In his previous life, he had watched the TV series "Boss & Me" at least twice. He quite liked the actress who played the role of Feng Yue in the series.

Besides the fact that Feng Yue's character is quite well-developed, it's also because Zhang Yangguo'er's portrayal of Feng Yue, despite being a wealthy heiress, is very gentle and well-mannered.

However, he forgot what the actor's name was; he only remembered that it seemed to be a four-character name.

"Hello Director Lin, my name is Zhang Yangguo'er!"

Zhang Yangguoer hurriedly spoke up.

"Zhang Yangguo'er..."

Lin Bufan said something.

"Director Lin, you can just call me Guo'er, that's what my friends call me!"

She also knows that her name is a bit of a tongue twister, so her friends usually call her "Guo'er".

"Guo'er!"

Lin Bufan nodded slightly: "Today is the premiere of Liying's first TV series. If you're free, why don't you stay here and keep her company?"

"Okay, Director Lin!"

Zhang Yangguo'er quickly nodded in agreement.

"Why!"

Seeing this, Zhao Liying sighed inwardly. She had some ideas and plans in mind, but with Zhang Yangguo'er's arrival, all her plans fell through.

Time slowly ticked down to 8 p.m.

The TV series "The Starry Night" was bought by Beijing TV for its premiere before it was even finished filming, at a price of 150 million yuan per episode, for a total of 20 episodes.

The first-run broadcast rights sold for 3000 million yuan. The TV series had a very small investment, and it made more than double its investment in the first run.

If this TV series gets good ratings, it will be even more profitable when it goes through a second or third run.

While the three of them were watching the premiere in Zhao Liying's apartment, there were actually many other people watching the drama.

Among them were people from the industry, as well as deputy directors and program acquisition directors from various TV stations.

Twenty days ago, the TV series "Difficult Love" broadcast on Beijing TV achieved very high ratings, ranking first in its time slot. This gave Beijing TV a slight chance of catching up with Hunan TV in the national TV station rankings.
