The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"Boss, Twilight's opening day box office is in: $4200 million..."

During the phone call, Carter Dennis excitedly reported to Lin Bufan.

Only Lin Bufan knew that this result was about 700 million US dollars higher than the original version at the box office.

"How many movies are there in the Twilight series now?"

For the Twilight series, Lin Bufan actually handed over the scripts for all five movies to Carter Dennis.

It's reasonable for a movie that's destined to be successful to be filmed all at once.

Otherwise, if they film and release one movie after another, the cost of the lead actors' salaries is expected to increase by nearly 100 million US dollars.

Saving this money would naturally be the best outcome.

"Boss, the first three Twilight movies have been filmed and edited. We're currently filming the fourth one, and we're halfway through..."

Carter Dennis gave Lin Bufan a detailed report.

The Twilight series began filming early last year, and it has been filming for over a year now.

The fourth installment he mentioned was actually a back-to-back filming of the fourth and fifth installments of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, which was released in two parts (Part 1 and Part 2).

It is expected that filming will be completed in about three months.

The original total investment for the Twilight series was approximately $400 million, but due to continuous filming and cost-cutting measures on actor salaries, it has only cost $100 million so far.

With another 30 million US dollars, filming should be almost complete.

The most unwilling people at this moment are probably the main cast of the Twilight series. This series could have brought them both fame and fortune.

But now, because of the pre-signed contract, they've got the title, but they can't get the money.

"Did the main actors from Twilight cause any trouble?"

"Boss, don't worry, they wouldn't dare!"

Carter Dennis looked confident.

They're just a few new actors. Even though Twilight is popular now, he can still easily handle those actors.

"That's fine, don't delay the filming."

Lin Bufan finished speaking and then hung up the phone.

……

"Boss, 'Lust, Caution' has won an award!"

As soon as Lin Bufan arrived at the company, Zhang Tianai congratulated him with a joyful expression.

This morning at 10:00 AM, due to some reasons, the 65th Golden Globe Awards did not hold an awards ceremony; instead, a press conference was held.

At the press conference, it was announced that "Lust, Caution" had won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

"I see!"

Lin Bufan nodded. To him, a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film was nothing more than average, if not insignificant.

It doesn't matter to him, but for many people in China, whether they are in the film and television industry or the general public, it is a very inspiring thing.

"As expected of Director Lin, they won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film!"

You can say Director Lin is a womanizer, but you absolutely can't say he's incompetent.

"Director Lin is truly a shining star in the Chinese entertainment industry!"

"We urge other companies and directors in the entertainment industry to follow Director Lin's example and stop focusing solely on their domestic interests; they should broaden their horizons and look to the world..."

Seeing the news online, major companies and some directors were speechless.

They also want to open their eyes to the world, but they have no chance.

Currently, the only two directors from mainland China to have gone abroad are Lin Bufan and Chen Kaige.

Lin Bufan relied on his own talent, while Chen Kaige used Lin Bufan's connections to direct the Hollywood film "Night at the Museum," which was a huge success and made him a world-class director.

In terms of awards, Chen Kaige won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, while Lin Bufan won the Academy Award for Best Director and the Golden Lion at Venice.

If we're talking about ratings, Lin Bufan can only be said to be slightly better than Chen Kaige, but in terms of box office revenue, he's leagues ahead of Chen Kaige.

Lin Bufan's current status in the entertainment industry is simply unparalleled.

Whether it's an entertainment company or a director, no one dares to try and extort money from them.

Then came Chen Kaige and Zhang Yimou.

Perhaps, after the Olympics begin, Zhang Yimou's status will catch up with Chen Kaige's, but there will still be a long way to go before he reaches Lin Bufan's level.

……

"Mr. Lin!"

"Shh!"

When Lin Bufan arrived at the seaside villa in Tseung Kwan O, he opened the door and was greeted by a shushing from the Filipino maid.

Is Gillian Chung home?

"Yes, Mr. Lin!"

The Filipino maid nodded and reported, "Miss is resting upstairs!"

"Okay, I understand. You guys go ahead and get busy!"

As Lin Bufan spoke, after the Filipino maid helped him untie his shoelaces, he put on his slippers and quietly went upstairs.

"kindness?"

Upon reaching the second floor, Lin Bufan suddenly noticed a faint light emanating from the guest room at the end of the corridor.

Could it be?

Lin Bufan's heart stirred, and he walked over.

Standing at the door of the guest room, I peeked through the crack in the door and saw Cai Zhuoyan dressed in a cool outfit, lying on the bed reading a magazine, her little feet swinging around in the air.

Seeing this scene, Lin Bufan suddenly remembered that night.

However, since it was nighttime, it wasn't very clear, unlike now.

Lin Bufan only rates Cai Zhuoyan's looks as 80-85 points.

Sometimes, when you get tired of eating rich, meaty dishes, you might prefer to have some light and delicious side dishes.

"Ah Jiao..."

Cai Zhuoyan heard the door open and turned around to speak, but before she could finish, she realized it was Lin Bufan.

"Ah S, long time no see!"

Lin Bufan walked over with a smile on his face, sat on the edge of the bed, and casually put his hand on Cai Zhuoyan's leg.

"yes!"

Cai Zhuoyan blushed immediately. She felt Lin Bufan's large hand was burning hot, but she felt no aversion at all.

Having received this signal, Lin Bufan immediately stopped being polite.

"No, slow down, walk slowly..."

Panting, Cai Zhuoyan clung tightly to Lin Bufan's neck.

……

"Honey, when did you get here?"

Gillian Chung woke up early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to find Lin Bufan lying next to her.

"They arrived last night!"

Looking at Gillian who had just woken up, Lin Bufan gently stroked the hair on her forehead.

His trip to Hong Kong wasn't just to see Gillian Chung; there was something even more important going on: the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

Although he will not be able to take over the position from the chairman of the board until the second half of the year, there are many things that should be done now.

The most important thing is finance.

If the finance department cannot be filled by your own people, even if you get the position of chairman of the board, you will still be hampered.
