The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"Mr. Lin!"

Following Cheng Long, Yang Shoucheng arrived shortly after.

"Boss Yang!"

Lin Bufan nodded to Yang Shoucheng, then gestured, "Please, both of you!"

Upon entering the private room, Lin Bufan got straight to the point.

"The reason I invited you two here today is to invite you to join the board of directors of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Association."

Lin Bufan looked at the two of them with a serious expression.

Lin Bufan will definitely make a major overhaul of the current board of directors of the film festival. Since it is an international film festival in Hong Kong, the board of directors must include figures representing the Hong Kong entertainment industry.

Among the celebrities, Jackie Chan is a prime example.

Among the bigwigs in the industry, Mr. Yang, the boss of Emperor Entertainment Group, is enough.

"International Film Festival Board of Directors?"

Jackie Chan was taken aback for a moment before he remembered this so-called international film festival.

It wasn't that he was ignorant; it was just that this film festival had absolutely no prestige in Hong Kong.

"That's right..."

Lin Bufan nodded slightly, and then briefly explained his thoughts to the two of them.

"Mr. Lin, this is great news! I, Yang, certainly support you!"

Upon hearing this, Yang Shoucheng looked at Lin Bufan with a serious expression.

As for whether he genuinely thought it was a good thing or was just pretending, it didn't matter to Lin Bufan. What mattered was that he was supported.

"Director Lin, don't forget me!"

Compared to Yang Shoucheng, Lin Bufan could better sense Cheng Long's emphasis on film festivals.

Yang Shoucheng is indeed an industry leader, but Cheng Long has relied on this industry for his entire life, and no one hopes that this industry can get better and better than him.

The Hong Kong Film Awards have always been stagnant and unchanging.

In the entire Chinese-speaking world, the Golden Horse Awards are the only thing we can be proud of, but on the international stage, they are far inferior.

If he can truly make the Hong Kong International Film Festival a success, then his life will have been worthwhile.

"There's something I need to discuss with you two in advance."

Lin Bufan looked at the two of them and said, "The moment I accept the chairmanship of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, I will reorganize the entire board of directors and eliminate all the current personnel."

Lin Bufan looked serious and earnest. With the Hong Kong International Film Festival in such a state, none of these so-called board members were capable of getting anything done.

Lin Bufan wouldn't even give them a nominal title, because they don't deserve it.

"Mr. Lin, are you looking to bring in directors or actors from mainland China to join the board of directors?"

Yang Shoucheng saw through Lin Bufan's thoughts at a glance.

"That's right!"

Lin Bufan didn't hide anything from them: "I've already drafted a preliminary list of board members, but whether it will be finalized depends on my personal communication with them."

There definitely needs to be official personnel involved.

The three major European film festivals all have official endorsements from their respective countries. If the Hong Kong International Film Festival didn't have official endorsements from mainland China, it certainly wouldn't go very far.

Of course, this is merely an endorsement, not participation in management.

"Mr. Lin, rest assured, I assure you that no one in the Hong Kong entertainment industry will say anything gossipy. If anyone does, Emperor Entertainment will be the first to step in and blacklist them." Yang Shoucheng said solemnly.

His words were extremely harsh.

Of course, he also understood how important this matter was.

"Don't worry, Director Lin, I still have some influence in Hong Kong."

A confident smile appeared on Cheng Long's face.

With Yang Shoucheng and Cheng Long's assurances, Lin Bufan nodded with relief.

It wasn't that he was afraid, but he didn't want to cause a huge uproar over this matter. If that happened, the mainland authorities might not be willing to endorse the film festival.

……

"Mr. Lin!"

Lin Bufan arrived at Jiahe Building without prior notice.

"You know about the film festival, right?"

Lin Bufan went directly to the office and sent someone to call Shi Nansheng over.

"Understood, Mr. Lin!"

Shi Nansheng nodded.

Just over an hour ago, Wang Weiying called her to inform her about the film festival and specifically mentioned that Lin Bufan had agreed to it.

"Once you join the board of directors, the first thing you should do is to take control of the finance and legal departments..." Lin Bufan looked at Shi Nansheng and earnestly instructed her.

"Yes, Mr. Lin!"

Shi Nansheng nodded.

As someone working in the industry, he knew very well how important it would be for Hong Kong and Golden Harvest if this film festival could be successfully established.

……

After dealing with this matter in Hong Kong, Lin Bufan went to ATV.

During this period, ATV was embroiled in a bloodbath, with many mid- to high-level executives being dismissed, and many Hong Kong newspapers followed up with reports.

But for Wang Weiji, who has Lin Bufan's support, he simply doesn't care about the outside noise.

"Mr. Lin!"

"Mr. Lin!"

"Mr. Lin!"

When Lin Bufan arrived at ATV, he immediately called over Wang Weiji, Wei Ran, and Liu Lanchang.

"sit!"

Lin Bufan nodded slightly, and Wang Weiji very conscientiously handed over the company's situation and documents to Lin Bufan.

"Well done!"

Lin Bufan listened to Wang Weiji's report and looked at the documents in his hand, then nodded in satisfaction.

He knew that this guy's ruthlessness would not disappoint him. He could say that two-thirds of the people at ATV were fired, almost all of them were administrative positions and some mid-to-high-level leaders.

These people were dismissed, and some even threatened to shoot Ricky Wong.

However, Ricky Wong didn't care at all and continued to do as he pleased, showing no leniency whatsoever to those who deserved to be dismissed.

"News department, how are the preparations going?"

Lin Bufan looked at Liu Lanchang.

"Mr. Lin, the international news channel has been set up and is ready to officially launch once it is fully rolled out." Liu Lanchang was full of ambition at this moment.

The international news channel is arguably ATV's top priority at present.

The Human Resources Department has been recruiting a lot of reporters recently, sending them to various countries to set up branch offices. Once everything is ready, the international news channel can be launched.

Of course, it sounds simple, but it will probably take at least three to six months for the international news channel to launch.

After all, journalists are people who need to be recruited and trained, and this is the part that takes the most time.

"As for journalists, we will recruit from major journalism schools in mainland China."

Lin Bufan looked at Liu Lanchang and gave him instructions.

How many news talents could there be in such a small place as Hong Kong? Looking at the entire mainland, the number of talents in the news industry is simply countless.

Especially for recent graduates, ATV's philosophy on news is a perfect fit for them.

"I understand, Mr. Lin!"

Liu Lanchang nodded seriously.
