The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"Director Tong, let me introduce you. This is Lin Bufan, the director of '2012'!"

At the celebration banquet for "2012", Han Sanping brought Lin Bufan to Tong Tuan.

"Children's Bureau!"

Lin Bufan greeted him with a smile, neither humble nor arrogant.

"Lin Bufan, I've heard of you." Director Tong looked at Lin Bufan with a broad smile and said, "Your film 'Lust, Caution' was excellent!"

Lin Bufan's version of "Lust, Caution" is very different from Li An's, and can even be said to be completely opposite.

Li An's "Lust, Caution" has almost turned into an erotic film, especially in its character portrayals, and even in its portrayal of upright characters, which has been somewhat caricatured.

A patriotic young man sacrifices love for his country, only to be constantly criticized in his film. There is also a "cold-blooded" superior who only cares about completing tasks and has no concern for the lives of his subordinates.

However, Lin Bufan's version of "Lust, Caution" perfectly embodies these aspects, showcasing the choices, brilliance, and depth of human nature.

Director Tong looked at Lin Bufan with eyes full of admiration.

In fact, he had noticed this young director as early as when Lin Bufan made "Manchester by the Sea".

Of course, he felt that Lin Bufan would become a great director sooner or later.

What he didn't expect was that the other party would grow so quickly.

Awards include the Academy Award for Best Director, the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival, and "Black Coal, Thin Ice," which was nominated for the main competition at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Furthermore, "Lust, Caution" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, something no Chinese film has been nominated for for several years.

What's surprising is that, despite his achievements in awards, he is no less successful in business, and perhaps even more so.

The film "Love is Not Blind" established Lin Bufan's status as a commercial director in China.

Following the huge success of "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" across Asia, his status as a commercial director was further solidified.

Now, "2012" has grossed over $10 billion worldwide, making him a world-class commercial director.

Only three films have grossed over $10 billion at the global box office.

The number one spot goes to "Titanic," a truck driver film released in 97, which grossed $18.4 billion worldwide and remains the undisputed number one even ten years later.

The second place was originally "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King", which was released in 03 and grossed $11.19 billion worldwide.

However, "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" has now been overtaken by "2012" at the box office, which grossed $11.42 billion, and has dropped to third place on the global box office chart.

Second place now belongs to "2012" directed by Lin Bufan.

Since "2012" is still showing in some regions, its box office is still rising. It may reach nearly 12 billion US dollars by the time it is officially taken off the screens.

In fact, there was originally supposed to be another movie that would break the billion-dollar box office mark, namely the second installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean," but Lin Bufan had already redeemed all the scripts for the series.

This movie naturally disappeared from the world.

"I heard you're preparing a movie with a budget of $5 million?"

After a few casual words, Director Tong suddenly changed the subject and looked at Lin Bufan.

"Yes, Director Tong!"

Lin Bufan nodded.

Without a doubt, this news must have been reported by Han Sanping to Director Tong.

He wasn't surprised at all; it was perfectly normal. China Film Group's annual funding is limited, and it's impossible for them to spend it all on a single film.

This is extremely unfair to other filmmakers in China.

However, if China Film Group wants to enter the market, it must hold at least a 10% share; otherwise, it will lose face.

A 10% share might seem like only 50 million US dollars, but when converted at the exchange rate, it would be nearly 400 million. Even Han Sanping wouldn't dare to make a one-man show with such a huge amount of money.

Tell me about this project!

Director Tong's expression also turned serious.

After all, with such a large investment, whether or not China Film Group should participate would definitely require several meetings and discussions.

At the same time, Director Tong was also curious about what kind of movie would require an investment of 5 million US dollars.

"Yes, Director Tong!"

As Lin Bufan narrated, Tong Ju was drawn into this captivating story, especially its connection to the Classic of Mountains and Seas, making it a film brimming with Chinese mythology.

This will greatly help Chinese culture to go global.

Furthermore, since most of the creatures in the Classic of Mountains and Seas are mythical beasts, they are acceptable to people all over the world.

At the same time, Lin Bufan also briefly explained to Director Tong the 3D technology and the reasons for such a large investment.

"good!"

Director Tong nodded to Lin Bufan, then turned to Han Sanping: "After you get back, submit a report!"

"Yes, Director Tong!"

Han Sanping's eyes lit up.

Sometimes, some things don't need to be said too explicitly.

……

When the time came, the celebration banquet began, and Han Sanping was the first to go up and give a speech.

Lin Bufan knew very well that Han Sanping needed this achievement, so he didn't try to steal the limelight from him; there was no need.

Given his current status in the industry, he has absolutely no need to seek the limelight; it would be better for him to keep a low profile.

"Director Lin!"

At this moment, the female celebrities at the celebration banquet, upon seeing Lin Bufan, all crowded around him as if sharks had smelled fish.

It's mainly about the impression Lin Bufan gives everyone.

Which woman who can make it in the entertainment industry doesn't rely on her beauty?

Perhaps they know they are not as good as Liu Yifei and Fan Bingbing, but what about the others?

They didn't think they were inferior to Lin Bufan's other women.

"Director Lin, are you free tonight?"

"Director Lin's bed is very soft, would you like to try it?"

"Director Lin..."

Faced with these beautiful women, Lin Bufan finally managed to slip away from the crowd, his clothes becoming wrinkled.

Who would have thought that these female celebrities were so crazy, they started touching her all over right away.

Unfortunately, while these female celebrities might be considered very beautiful by ordinary people, they still fell short in Lin Bufan's eyes.

"ah!"

Lin Bufan was walking too fast and didn't pay much attention. He accidentally bumped into someone and quickly helped the person up when he heard the noise.

"Are you alright, Miss Qin Lan?"

Lin Bufan was surprised to discover that the woman he had almost accidentally knocked over was actually Qin Lan.

"No, I'm fine!"

Qin Lan blushed and quickly stood up, getting out of Lin Bufan's embrace.
