My classmates chose martial arts and fantasy, but I chose the prehistoric world.

"I...I do!"

Lei Hong nodded without hesitation, his voice filled with excitement and gratitude, "Thank you for your high regard, Your Majesty! I will certainly live up to your trust and swear to protect Blue Star with my life!"

Meng Chuan nodded and then extended his hand.

In his hand, a long sword crackling with purple electric arcs appeared out of thin air.

The long sword, its blade covered with intricate lightning runes, exuded a violent yet majestic aura!

It was the Great Dao Emperor Weapon that he seized from one of the thirty representatives of the Great Emperors!

It was clearly left behind by the former Thunder Emperor.

"I'll lend you this lightning-elemental Great Dao Emperor Weapon."

Meng Chuan handed the Great Dao Emperor Weapon to Lei Hong, saying, "You can use it to obtain the title of Immortal Venerable, and thereby protect Blue Star and oversee the Primordial Starfield!"

Lei Hong received the Great Dao Emperor Weapon and felt the terrifying lightning power contained within it; his hands trembled uncontrollably.

The Great Dao Emperor Weapon!

This is a Great Dao Emperor Weapon!

"Thank you, Your Majesty! Thank you, Your Majesty!"

Lei Hong was so excited that he was incoherent and kept thanking him.

Meng Chuan waved his hand: "Next, you should first refine it to a preliminary level, and then go to the Star Tower to obtain the title of Immortal Venerable. I will wait for you to challenge me in the Primordial Starfield. At that time, I will admit defeat and hand over the position of Domain Lord to you."

After saying that, his figure disappeared into the hall.

……

half a month later.

The voice of the Great Dao of the Universe resounded once again throughout the entire universe:

"Congratulations to Immortal Venerable Lei Hong for passing the Star Tower test and obtaining the title of Immortal Venerable!"

The announcement caused another sensation throughout the universe!

"Immortal Venerable Lei Man? Who is that? I've never heard of him before!"

"That's the First Holy Lord of the Wind and Thunder Holy Land in the Weiyang Star Region under the Tianyan Star Region! However, with his strength, he probably wouldn't bother to obtain the Immortal Venerable title, right? He only cultivates the Law of Thunder! Without a Great Dao Emperor Weapon, it's unlikely that cultivating the Law of Thunder would lead to obtaining the Immortal Venerable title!"

"I've heard that Lei Hong had some connection with Emperor Meng Chuan in the past... Could it be that Emperor Meng Chuan lent him a Great Dao Emperor Weapon?"

Countless cultivators were curious about the origins of this newly promoted Immortal Venerable.

Those who knew the inside story exclaimed – Lei Hong has finally found a powerful patron!

a few days later.

The voice of the Great Dao of the Universe resounded once again throughout the universe, confirming the speculations of some:

"Immortal Venerable Lei Hong has challenged Lord Meng Chuan of the Primordial Star Domain, and Meng Chuan has conceded defeat! From this day forward, the position of Lord of the Primordial Star Domain shall be inherited by Immortal Venerable Lei Hong!"

The announcement caused another sensation throughout the universe!

"What?! Emperor Meng Chuan has admitted defeat?!"

"Are you kidding me?! Lord Meng Chuan is now a Great Emperor of Power! How could he possibly lose to a newly ascended Immortal Venerable?!"

"It's obvious that Emperor Meng Chuan did this on purpose! He's abdicating!"

"Abdicate? Why would Emperor Meng Chuan abdicate? He's only just attained the status of Emperor!"

"Could it be... that Emperor Meng Chuan is also retiring?!"

"Retirement?! What exactly are the reasons behind the retirement of those great emperors?!"

In no time, all sorts of speculations began to circulate throughout the universe.

Countless cultivators were discussing this matter.

Those who knew about the great battle of the emperors from back then also frowned at this moment.

They recalled those great emperors of yesteryear, who, after that great emperor war, suddenly handed over the position of domain lord to their representatives and then disappeared without a trace.

Now, Meng Chuan has done the same thing.

What secret is hidden in this?

Where have the emperors gone?

Is it really just a simple matter of retiring?

"It's one thing for the Great Emperors who had long since attained enlightenment and roamed the universe to retire... but now, this newly crowned Great Emperor, Meng Chuan, is also going to retire?"

"If he weren't retiring, why would he need to relinquish the position of domain lord?"

"What exactly happened during the Great Emperor's War?"

……

Blue Star.

When the news came that the Great Dao of the Universe had announced Meng Chuan's defeat and that Lei Man Immortal Venerable had succeeded as the Lord of the Primordial Star Domain, the entire Blue Star was in an uproar!

"What happened?! The great Meng Chuan lost?!"

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! Mr. Meng Chuan is the Emperor of Power! How could he possibly lose to a newly ascended Immortal Venerable?!"

"It's obvious that Meng Chuan is doing this on purpose! He's trying to hand over the position of Domain Lord to someone else!"

"But...why would he do that? He just became a Great Emperor!"

"Could it be... that he, too, will retire into seclusion like those great emperors?"

"Retirement? Why? What exactly happened?"

Countless people on Earth were filled with doubt and confusion.

They didn't understand why Meng Chuan would give up the position of domain lord.

Does becoming an emperor mean one can no longer remain in this universe?

……

The Primordial Starfield, the Domain Lord's Mansion.

Meng Chuan stood in the main hall, looked at Lei Hong, and said calmly, "Fellow Daoist Lei Hong, from now on, the Primordial Star Region is entrusted to you."

Lei Hong nodded solemnly: "Your Majesty, rest assured! I will certainly live up to your trust and protect the Primordial Starfield, especially Blue Star!"

Meng Chuan nodded, then turned and walked out of the Domain Lord's Mansion.

"The Emperor!"

Lei Hong suddenly called out to him.

Meng Chuan stopped and turned around to look at him.

Lei Hong hesitated for a moment, but couldn't help asking, "Great Emperor... are you really going to retire like those great emperors of the past?"

Meng Chuan was silent for a moment, then nodded: "More or less."

Will they come back?

Lei Hong asked again.

Meng Chuan smiled but did not answer. He simply said, "Guard Blue Star for me."

Then, his figure disappeared.

Lei Hong stood in the empty hall, staring in the direction where Meng Chuan had disappeared, speechless for a long time.

……

After leaving the Primordial Starfield, Meng Chuan returned to Blue Star.

He found Duan Lingtian.

Duan Lingtian was cultivating in seclusion on an unnamed island on Blue Star when he sensed Meng Chuan's presence. He opened his eyes, saw Meng Chuan's figure, and a smile appeared on his face.

"Mr. Meng Chuan, you're back?"

He asked, his tone calm, as if Meng Chuan had only gone on a long trip.

Meng Chuan nodded and sat down opposite him.

"I'm leaving."

He got straight to the point.

Duan Lingtian was taken aback: "Leave? Where to?"

Meng Chuan's gaze was profound: "Go back to the Primordial World, and then... go to a place I don't even know where it is."

Duan Lingtian frowned: "What do you mean?"

Meng Chuan shook his head: "I'm not entirely clear on the specifics either."

Duan Lingtian couldn't help but ask, "When will you be back?"

Meng Chuan shook his head: "The return date is uncertain."

Duan Lingtian said solemnly, "Go with peace of mind. I'll take care of things on Blue Star."

Meng Chuan nodded again, "If you need anything, go directly to the new domain lord Lei Hong. You've met him before... I've already explained everything."

"Okay." Duan Lingtian nodded.

Meng Chuan stood up, and in a flash appeared in outer space. He glanced in the direction of Blue Star, then turned around and disappeared into the starry sky.

Next, it's time to return to the primordial world and formally say goodbye to family and friends!
