A song from Chengdu revived a closed-down pub.

Chapter 10 They Came to Our Door

Before Fang Cheng could finish speaking, his phone rang again.

It's the same number as before.

Fang Cheng glanced at Su Fan, but Su Fan didn't move.

Fang Cheng had no choice but to answer the call himself: "Hello, Mr. Wang!"

Wang Chuan's voice was noticeably less enthusiastic than before: "Boss Fang, could you please let Mr. Su take the call again? There are some things I might not have explained clearly earlier..."

Su Fan stretched a hand out from under the covers, took the phone, and hung up without even looking at it.

Fang Cheng looked at him, his face flushed red: "You..."

Su Fan interrupted him: "Brother Cheng, do you know what kind of company Xinghan Entertainment is?"

Fang Cheng was taken aback: "What do you mean?"

"The copyrights to those songs of yours that had their licenses revoked belong to them."

Su Fan had indeed looked into Xinghan Entertainment, but he found it by tracing back from when Fang Cheng was restricted from performing his songs at a small bar.

Upon hearing Su Fan's words, Fang Cheng quickly realized, "You mean, they're in cahoots with that bar?"

"Otherwise, how do you think they got your phone number? It must have been from your arch-enemy."

Fang Cheng was silent for a few seconds, then said, "Even so, it's still an opportunity. What if we miss it..."

Clearly, Fang Cheng wanted to put aside personal grudges and help Su Fan succeed.

But Su Fan knew perfectly well what was going on and interrupted, "Brother Cheng, do you think they came to us so quickly for my own good? If it weren't for the popularity of those two songs, how could they possibly be interested in me? To put it bluntly, they just think they can profit from me."

Fang Cheng asked, "But this is mutually beneficial, isn't it? How can you debut if you don't sign with a company? That's how this industry is; you can't go far by going it alone."

Su Fan laughed: "I never said I would debut. Besides, even if I did debut, I wouldn't look down on them."

Fang Cheng was getting anxious: "Then you should be more tactful. Aren't you afraid they'll target you? Blacklist you?"

"Ban? Bring it on. Just because I have Buddha in my heart doesn't mean I don't have a knife in my hand. As long as my knife is sharp enough, I'll cut down one if one comes, and two if two come."

The equation was stunned.

He looked at Su Fan and suddenly felt that this younger brother he had grown up with seemed different from before.

Seeing his expression, Su Fan said, "Alright, don't think too much. All your worries stem from insufficient firepower. As long as I have enough cards to play, they'll have to think twice before they make a move against me."

Finally, Fang Cheng sighed, "Then you decide for yourself!"

Just then, Fang Cheng's phone rang again.

He glanced at Su Fan and then immediately pressed the button.

I just put it down, and it rang again.

Press again.

It rang again.

Fang Cheng frowned, his finger hovering over the screen, hesitating whether to shut down the computer directly.

On the other end of the phone, Qi Tongwei looked at his uncle with a blank expression: "Uncle, are they deliberately avoiding us?"

Uncle Qi said, "They're probably still sleeping. It's normal that they won't answer when you call from an unknown number."

Qi Tongwei said, somewhat aggrieved, "It's all because you went to a bar last night and forgot to charge your phone."

"What did you say?"

Qi Tongwei immediately put on a smiling face: "I mean, if you call him personally, he definitely wouldn't dare not answer."

Uncle Qi rolled his eyes at him, picked up his phone, and dialed again.

Just as Fang Cheng was about to shut down his phone, he saw that the caller ID still showed the same number, and his anger flared up immediately.

He answered the phone, his tone sharp: "I said I won't sign, I won't sign! Are you guys ever going to stop?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone.

Then Uncle Qi's voice came through: "Xiao Fang, it's me."

Fang Cheng glanced at the caller ID number instinctively.

"Uncle Qi, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you. My phone has been getting a lot of spam calls today."

Uncle Qi said, "Alright, my phone's dead. This is my nephew's number. Can you two come over now?"

"I'm coming right away."

Uncle Qi emphasized, "Bring that kid Su Fan along."

Su Fan, who was standing nearby, heard everything clearly and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Uncle Qi, the person you're calling is sleeping. Please call them again later!"

Uncle Qi said in a strong voice, "Stop talking nonsense and come over here. I'm mainly here to see you!"

Su Fan sighed helplessly and resignedly got out of bed to get dressed.

Twenty minutes later, the two arrived at Yulin Road.

The group had originally planned to meet at a bar, but seeing a large crowd at the bar entrance, they decided to meet at a nearby coffee shop instead.

As soon as they met, Fang Cheng explained, "Uncle Qi, I'm sorry, an entertainment company called me this morning, and I was getting angry with them."

Uncle Qi waved his hand, indicating that he didn't care.

Qi Tongwei, standing to the side, sensed a sense of crisis. If Su Fan accepted the invitation from a certain entertainment company, there would be nothing to discuss today, because he would have to get past the entertainment company first.

At this point, Uncle Qi introduced, "This is my nephew, Qi Tongwei, who works at the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Culture and Tourism."

Then he said to the person opposite him, "This is Fang Cheng, the owner of the tavern, and this is Su Fan, the kid who sang two songs."

Qi Tongwei stood up, smiled, and shook hands with the two men.

When she shook hands with Su Fan, she glanced at him a couple more times, probably not expecting that the person who sang those two songs was such a young man.

Su Fan was somewhat surprised.

He knew that "Chengdu" would eventually attract official attention, but he didn't expect it to come so quickly.

They just finished singing yesterday, and they're here today.

Uncle Qi got straight to the point: "He's the one who came to see Xiao Fan this time. You two can talk about what's going on. If you need us to avoid you, just say so."

He paused, then added, "Also, when it comes to money, Xiao Fan, do what you need to do, don't worry about anyone else's feelings."

Su Fan laughed: "Uncle Qi, don't be so formal, you're making me a little nervous."

"What are you so nervous about?" Uncle Qi glared at him. "I think you expected this all along, you're not flustered at all."

Su Fan raised his hand to indicate, "I swear to God, I really don't know anything about it."

Uncle Qi waved his hand, too lazy to argue with him anymore: "Alright, you two talk, don't waste your breath on this old man."

Qi Tongwei watched Su Fan and Uncle Qi bickering. He originally thought the two only knew each other through the equation, but he didn't expect them to be this close.

Qi Tongwei cleared his throat and got to the point: "Comrade Su Fan..."

"Just call me Xiao Fan," Su Fan said.

"Okay, Xiao Fan." Qi Tongwei smiled. "Here's the situation: your two songs have generated quite a buzz online, directly boosting tourism to Sichuan Province. I've come to you today to discuss licensing."

He paused, carefully choosing his words: "We want to use the song 'Chengdu' to shoot a promotional music video, making it a calling card for Sichuan's culture and tourism. Of course, everything will be done according to commercial rules, and the copyright fees will be paid in full."
