A song from Chengdu revived a closed-down pub.

Su Fan typed out "The New Drunken Concubine" on his computer.

This song, "On Earth," was written and composed by Hu Li and sung by Li Yugang.

After finishing the lyrics and music, Su Fan went to the city to record the song.

On the way, Su Fan pondered, "Looks like I'll have to set up a recording studio at home someday, otherwise this constant running around is really inconvenient!"

After recording the song, Su Fan returned to the village.

At this moment, Wei Zhiran was also in the village. When he saw Su Fan return, he immediately said, "Xiao Fan, you're finally back! Everything is finished, and the bus is in place, but the number of tourists is still the same as before. You have to think of something. If this continues, we're really doomed."

To be honest, Wei Zhirang was really anxious.

Putting everything else aside, if the resources he coordinates don't play their corresponding role, then he'll be at a disadvantage.

Su Fan understood Wei Zhirang's concerns, so he said, "Director Wei, it'll be ready soon."

"Immediately? What do you mean?" Wei Zhiran was a little confused.

"I just finished a song to test the waters first. Later, I will collaborate with Sichuan Province, Harbin City, and Fujian Province. In a maximum of six months, this scenic area will be revitalized."

Wei Zhirang ignored Su Fan's subsequent words and directly turned on her phone.

In fact, Su Fan uploaded the song to the music platform as soon as he finished recording it.

Wei Zhiran opened her phone, but there was no news about Su Fan releasing a new song.

Why is there still no response online?

Su Fan slapped his forehead: "I forgot to post on Weibo. Let me post a message first."

So, Su Fan opened his phone and posted a status update on his Weibo account.

The song "The New Drunken Concubine" is now available online. This song was specially created for my hometown, Mawei Post Station, a tourist attraction. Everyone is welcome to listen to it, and everyone is also welcome to visit this place to see the place where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei parted ways in life and death!

The message immediately attracted attention.

"Here it comes! Su Daxian has released another song! Is this one for Mawei Post Station?"

"Mawei Post Station? What kind of place is that, and what does it have to do with Yang Guifei?"

"Did the person upstairs sleep through history class? Mawei Slope, the An Lushan Rebellion, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang ordered the death of Yang Guifei, that's what Bai Juyi's 'Song of Everlasting Regret' is about!"

"For your information, Mawei Post Station is where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was forced to order the death of Yang Guifei during his escape from the capital. The famous line, 'The emperor covered his face, unable to save her; turning back, he saw tears of blood flowing together,' refers to this very place!"

"So that's how it is! I had to do my homework before listening to the song. Su Fan is going to sing about Yang Guifei in this song?!"

"The New Drunken Concubine? That's an interesting name. I know 'Drunken Concubine,' it's a classic Peking Opera piece from the Mei School. Adding 'new' in front, is Su Fan trying to cross over into a new field?"

"Never mind, let's listen first! Brothers, charge!"

……

Wei Zhirang took out his phone, opened the music platform, and searched for "The New Drunken Concubine".

The page popped up, and he clicked to play.

The prelude began, melodious yet tinged with melancholy.

Like a sigh from the deep palace, it instantly pulls one's thoughts back to the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago.

Wei Zhirang's brows relaxed slightly, and he thought to himself, "This prelude is quite something!"

Just then, Su Fan's voice rang out.

That year, snowflakes fell and plum blossoms bloomed on the branches.

Too much sorrow remained by Huaqing Pool that year.

Don't argue about who's right and who's wrong, or whether feelings are right or wrong.

I just want to get drunk with you again in my dreams.

……

Wei Zhirang listened to it and thought it was pretty good.

The melody is smooth and the lyrics are evocative.

The Huaqing Pool, snowflakes, and plum blossoms create a vivid and evocative scene.

But that's not all that great.

It doesn't have the magic of "Chengdu" that instantly pulls you into a city.

It also lacks the explosive impact of "Don't Bother Me".

Listen on.

"The golden hairpin and jade comb were gifts you gave me."

The Rainbow Feather Dance has been performed for you through countless cycles of reincarnation.

Jianmen Pass is where you deeply miss me.

"At Mawei Slope, I am willing to sacrifice my life for true love."

……

At this point in the song, Wei Zhirang took the phone away from his ear slightly and frowned.

It's not that it sounds bad, but it didn't meet his expectations.

His expectations of Su Fan were far too high.

Those songs before were all nuclear bombs.

The first two verses of this song, "The New Drunken Concubine," can only be considered standard fare.

It sounds nice, but it's not amazing.

He began to worry whether this song could make Mawei Post Station a hit.

Just then, a different voice rang out.

It wasn't Su Fan's previous low murmur, but a different voice.

It is gentle, ethereal, and possesses a penetrating power that sends chills down your spine.

With a theatrical accent, melodious and delicate.

Like a ghost that drifted out of the Tang Dynasty palace a thousand years ago.

It tells a story of joys and sorrows buried by history.

Love and hate can be separated in an instant.

Raising a cup to the moon, my feelings are as vast as the sky.

Love and hate are both uncertain.

When will you fall in love?

The moon reflected in the chrysanthemum terrace

Who knew the chill in my heart?

Drunk in the King's Arms

"Dreaming Back to the Tang Dynasty"

……

This section will not be blown up.

But every word seems to have a hook.

Many people have heard of Peking Opera, but not this form of singing.

"What kind of singing style is this? I've never heard it before!"

"Is this Peking Opera? It doesn't feel like Peking Opera at all; this isn't the style of Peking Opera!"

"I studied Peking Opera for a few years, and this is definitely not traditional opera singing, but it's even more captivating!"

"I don't know what it's called, but I know I've got goosebumps!"

"What kind of singing style is this?!"

……

No one could name this singing style.

In their minds, Peking Opera is about veteran actors singing and chanting on stage; it's about high-pitched singing, slow tempos, and the use of the clapper drum and the erhu.

The voice in this song is not from Peking Opera, yet it carries the essence of Peking Opera.

It's not trendy, but it has the rhythm of a trend.

But what puzzled everyone even more was who sang this song with Su Fan.

Someone went to the song's details page and found that Su Fan was responsible for the lyrics, music, and vocals, with no other involvement.

So, netizens started asking questions online.

"Who is that female voice that sang with Su Fan? It's so beautiful!"

"Same question! That Peking Opera singing gave me goosebumps all over. Which famous Peking Opera artist was that?"

"Is Su Fan hiding it from the public? He's the only singer listed!"

"We need an official answer! Who is this woman's voice? I want to follow her!"

"Could it be a system error? Su Fan should quickly come out and clarify!"

……

Su Fan scrolled through the comments section, a barely perceptible smile playing on his lips.

He didn't reply immediately, not even sending an emoji.

He knew all too well that at this point, not explaining was better than explaining.

The suspense is there, which piques everyone's curiosity.

The more people ask questions, the more popular the topic becomes.

The more attention Mawei Post Station receives, the more likely it is to be seen.

Sure enough, the more silent they were, the more wildly the speculations grew.

Some say the female voice belongs to a descendant of a famous Peking Opera artist.

Some say they are students from a music academy.

In short, there are all sorts of opinions.

And just like that, the topic of the girl who sang "The New Drunken Concubine" with Su Fan went viral.
