Transmigrated into the body of a tycoon's spoiled ex-girlfriend

Chapter 39 Find some time to bring the Zhang family

Thinking of this, He Yayin's face darkened, and she swung the stick again with force.

Rong She was pulled aside by Yuan Jia to discuss matters.

The two stood on the edge of the green. Yuan Jia held a putter in his hand, occasionally bending down to demonstrate, while Rong She listened to him with his hands in his pockets, nodding occasionally.

Ke Miantang stood alone at the edge of the practice field, watching others swing their clubs.

She hadn't played golf in a long time; the last time she touched a club was before she time-traveled.

Back then, she went to the practice range a few times with her father. Her swing was corrected countless times by the coach, and she could barely hit the ball, but it wasn't pretty.

She bent down to pick up the club; the leather grip was a bit slippery, so she adjusted her finger position.

Position the ball, spread your legs apart, bend your knees slightly, straighten your back, and swing the club. "Bang!" The ball is hit.

It flew erratically for a while, drawing an unsightly arc in the air, before landing on the grass, bouncing twice, and rolling into the tall grass area.

Not too far, not too close, but at least they managed to launch an attack.

Ke Miantang was so happy she almost jumped up. She turned around to show off to Rong She, only to find that he was still talking to Yuan Jia and hadn't even turned his head in her direction.

Finally, he pursed his lips.

He Yayin walked up to her not far away at some point.

She positioned the ball, spread her legs, lowered her center of gravity, and swung the club.

The white ball traced a perfect arc, flew high, bounced on the green, rolled towards the hole, and finally stopped less than a foot from the hole.

A beautiful close-range shot.

He Ya-yin retracted her cue, and out of the corner of her eye, she slowly caught sight of Ke Mian-tang, a subtle smile curving her lips.

Ke Miantang turned her face away; she knew without even looking that this guy was showing off.

On the clubhouse terrace, Yuan Jia handed Rong She a glass of ice water.

Rong She took it and casually sipped it.

"Does your dad know you brought Ke Miantang here?" Yuan Jia asked casually, leaning against the railing.

Rong She looked down at the water in his glass: "I don't know."

Yuan Jia raised an eyebrow slightly: "Are you serious?"

Rong She didn't answer the question. He turned his head to look at the practice field. Ke Miantang was bending over to take a ball from the basket, and the neckline of her long dress was drooping slightly.

He frowned slightly; he should have taken her to change her clothes first.

He put down his water glass and was about to walk towards Ke Miantang when his phone suddenly vibrated. Rong She glanced at the screen.

Then he walked to the other end and answered the phone: "Dad."

"You haven't broken up with the Ke family's daughter yet?" Rong Liao's cold, hard voice came through the receiver.

Looking at Ke Miantang's figure in the distance, Rong She said casually, "We can't break up."

"I hope you only found this person to spite me." Rong Liao's tone wasn't harsh, but the pressure in his words was stronger than any harsh words.

"You're overthinking it. I really have my eye on her." As he said this, his gaze remained fixed on Ke Miantang.

Whether she was competing with He Yayin or not, she would glance at He Yayin every time she hit a ball, and He Yayin would do the same. The two were several meters apart, neither willing to give in.

Rong She found it funny.

Rong Liao didn't continue the topic, but instead asked a few questions about the overseas business.

Rong She answered each question.

After we finished discussing business, the other end of the phone fell silent again.

After a few seconds of silence, Rong Liao spoke again: "Bring her home for dinner next weekend."

Rong She's eyebrows twitched slightly.

"I haven't agreed with you, but I need to assess what this girl has that's worth giving up on Qi Ying."

Qi Ying, the third on the whitelist, is the eldest daughter of the chairman of Anhe Group. She is currently an exchange student in Switzerland. Her family has been on good terms with the Rong family for generations, and a marriage between the two families is an unspoken expectation within the industry.

Everyone expected that Rong She's fiancée would be Qi Ying.

The two families are well-matched in social standing and have impeccable family backgrounds, making their marriage a foregone conclusion.

Ke Miantang's appearance shattered this expectation.

Rong She said "I understand" and then hung up the phone.

He stood on the terrace, looking at Ke Miantang on the training field in the distance.

She hit another ball, this time with a perfect arc, it bounced once on the green and came to a steady stop near the hole.

The next second, Ke Miantang turned her head to look at the terrace. Seeing him looking at her, she happily waved to him, her eyes curving into two crescent moons.

Seeing that smile, Rong She's lips also curled up.

Ke Miantang was unaware of the phone call's existence. Just as she was about to swing the baton, the system simultaneously broadcast a message in her mind.

"Rong She's father, Rong Liao, called. The call lasted about seven minutes and involved Rong She asking you to come home for dinner."

Ke Miantang's hand trembled, and the ball went astray. The cue stick grazed the edge of the ball, and the white ball rolled crookedly into the bunker.

He Yayin happened to see this and let out a short, mocking laugh: "Is this your skill level? You can't even hit the ball straight."

Ke Miantang didn't have time to pay attention to her.

The golf club was stuck on the ground, and she looked completely bewildered.

"In the original story, there was no meeting the parents at all. The original owner never even met Rong She's father," she said to the system in her mind.

"That's right. In the original novel, Rong Liao first appeared later in the story. By then, the female supporting character had already left the story, and Zhang Xin had already established initial contact with Rong She. Rong Liao had a decent impression of Zhang Xin, thinking that she was 'at least better than that guy surnamed Ke.' The original owner had never met Rong Liao."

"So what's going on now!"

"This is a plot deviation, possibly caused by Zhang Xin's early appearance and interaction with Rong She, triggering a butterfly effect. Rong She's father may have noticed his recent behavioral changes and become curious or wary. The current plot deviation is..."

After careful consideration, the system decided to tell Ke Miantang: "It has reached 10% and is continuing to rise."

Ke Miantang's heart tightened: "What should we do?"

The system sighed, a rare occurrence, and explained in detail, somewhat helplessly, how the plot had deviated from its intended course, including how Rong She's emotional investment in the host had exceeded the threshold set in the original work.

Ke Miantang felt a chill run down her spine and was somewhat bewildered: "What should I do to correct the plot?"

"Rong She is quite interested in you right now. The best way is to make Rong She's interest in you decrease, and go back to how it was when you first got together."

Ke Miantang looked slightly stunned. Was it like when they first got together?

The system continued: "The most direct way right now is to avoid meeting Rong She's father to prevent further plot deviations. As long as we don't meet, the plot will most likely gradually return to its original trajectory."

Ke Miantang nodded: "I understand."

Dinner was again at Yuanjia's premises, in a Japanese restaurant private room on the second floor of the clubhouse.

A full-length window faces the floodlit sports field. In the night breeze, the automatic sprinkler system on the lawn rotates and sprays water mist. The lights shine on the water mist, occasionally creating a small rainbow.

Yuan Jia hosted a dinner, and several of his friends came, including his girlfriend, a girl who looked very gentle. She sat next to Yuan Jia without saying much, occasionally serving him food and water.

Yuan Jia picked it up and ate it; there was a tacit understanding between the two that didn't need words.

The private room quickly became lively, with several people playing drinking games. The loser had to drink sake, creating a chaotic and noisy atmosphere.

Ke Miantang looked over there, her chopsticks pausing for a moment.

She wondered if Rong She had always been like this.
