What does it mean to get a perfect score on the college entrance exam but then go missing?

Three minutes later.

The analysis room was overflowing with people.

Seventeen analysts who are based at the Dongda branch are on high alert.

Over the past two days, all the information from keyhole and lacrosse reconnaissance has been displayed in a single line on the big screen.

"As everyone knows!"

Jones explained with a serious expression.

"The University of Tokyo is exceptionally good at anti-satellite operations at its air defense bases!"

"Under normal circumstances, they shouldn't expose the Shangdu Town base to the elements with absolutely no cover."

Therefore, the nature of the Shangdu Town base is definitely not that of a regular military unit!

"And today, the troops from Shangdu Town suddenly appeared on the outskirts of Xijing City, which is quite rare!"

"We all know that the University of Tokyo's troops will not enter the city unless absolutely necessary."

"But today, not only have they entered, but there are four thousand of them!"

"A combined arms brigade has appeared in the city, and it's carrying heavy equipment. We must figure out their intentions!"

The NGA's role is to provide detailed intelligence to intelligence agencies and the Department of Defense.

therefore.

The University of Tokyo's troops remain hidden.

Whenever they showed themselves, Jones would make sure to find out where they came from.

Especially the remarkable army in Shangdu Town.

It doesn't resemble the regular organization of the Western Theater Command, nor does it resemble the militia of Dongda University.

Their behavior was strange; they spent their days fiddling with the vehicles at the base.

However, Shangdu Town clearly does not have the conditions for a military factory.

Today, another four thousand of them appeared inexplicably in the city.

It's really intriguing.

Just as everyone was having a heated discussion, a middle-aged man wearing glasses raised his hand.

"Please zoom in on the thirteenth photo!"

Jones looked up and saw that it was his most capable assistant, Wiseman.

"What did you discover?"

Wiseman: "Chief, look at this photo. It looks like a playground."

"Their soldiers were all assembled in the center of the parade ground."

"The equipment is parked in the center of the playground."

"It's like some kind of rally."

Jones: "What is a rally?"

"This is a tradition at the University of Tokyo."

"They usually gather together before undertaking any major events."

"Shouting slogans and doing superficial work."

"It's actually a brainwashing gathering."

Jones nodded slowly. "So you mean something big is happening?"

"Yes! They only hold swearing-in ceremonies when undertaking important matters."

"A force of four thousand people like this must be some kind of large-scale combat operation."

Jones became wary upon hearing the analysis.

Four thousand people—that's no joke anywhere.

Especially the University of Tokyo.

This number is roughly equivalent to a combined arms brigade.

Jones knew all too well the prestige of the Dongda Combined Arms Brigade.

A single combined arms brigade is enough to wipe out 90 percent of the countries in the world.

If four thousand people gathered together to hold this mysterious ceremony...

Then all the small countries in the world, especially their neighbors, should tremble.

Thinking about this...

Jones became even more obsessed with finding out the specifics of this ritual.

"Any other clues?"

Wiseman and several analysts frantically fiddled with the images.

at last!

With the support of technicians, they enlarged one of the images.

"Look! There's writing here!"

Everyone's attention immediately turned to the picture.

Although it looks very blurry.

But you can still vaguely make out a few red words on the side of the playground.

"Is there anyone who understands Chinese?" Jones asked immediately.

"I understand!"

Wiseman volunteered.

"Inheriting the red gene and forging a body of steel, that's how it should be read."

Jones: "What do you mean?"

Let me think about it...

Wiseman bit his finger; the CPU was getting very hot.

Although he understands Chinese.

But as we all know, Chinese is one of the most complex languages in the world, and it's very difficult to learn.

Even someone with a solid foundation like Wiseman would find it difficult to understand such non-everyday vocabulary.

Therefore, he could only translate it literally.

"It should be said that—"

"They want to use some kind of gene called 'red'..."

"We also need to forge a body of steel..."

"That's how it should be understood."

Jones's heart skipped a beat: "Red genes? Steel bodies! Holy shit! Are they doing human modification?!"

In a word!

Everyone in the analysis room was stunned.

The director's analysis hit the nail on the head!

First, there is a hidden army in Shangdu Town, but it does not train like a regular army.

Instead, I spend every day cooperating with a group of people who seem to be researchers!

Secondly, the movements of these troops are highly suspicious.

But most importantly, these texts were discovered today.

The red gene clearly indicates that it involves genetic modification of the human body.

The steel body is easier to understand; it's simply removing the human body and replacing it with steel.

"That's terrifying!"

Wiseman's words are chilling upon closer examination.

"Has the University of Tokyo's technology reached this level?"

Jones said weakly, "If it's the University of Tokyo, it's entirely possible..."

Gene editing and powered exoskeletons are nothing new.

Even the University of Tokyo has a certain advantage in these aspects.

But Jones never expected that Tokyo University had already begun using these two technologies on soldiers and had started mass production.

"Four thousand soldiers!"

"If all of them used gene-editing technology, their basic physiological functions would already be stronger than our soldiers."

"What if we add exoskeleton technology..."

"So they'll have four thousand soldiers like Iron Man?"

Listening to the bureau chief's analysis, most people felt a chill run down their spines.

But a small number of people still have some doubts.

"Director, isn't it too much to genetically modify 4,000 people at once? This is too much of a commotion."

Wiseman immediately stood up to retort: "You don't understand the University of Tokyo!"

"Since they've already started their oath-taking ceremony, it means they're serious about this."

"The troop movements in Shangdu Town, and today's mobilization rally, are definitely preparations for gene editing!"

"I estimate that after today, these four thousand people will enter the laboratory and undergo inhumane surgeries..."

Hearing this...

Jones could no longer remain calm; he slammed his fist on the table and stood up.

"No! I need to notify the Ministry of National Defense immediately!"

"If these 4,000 surgeries are successful, we will no longer be able to compete with the University of Tokyo!"

"We must use public opinion to put pressure on them and make them abandon this inhumane behavior!"
