I enlisted four times! My former unit blacklisted me.

Wu Hanfeng walked over quickly, but Political Commissar Zhao Long was engrossed in reading the documents and did not notice Wu Hanfeng at all.

"Hello, comrade!"

"Smoking is not allowed here, didn't you know?"

"Cough cough cough..."

Upon hearing the sound, Zhao Long lost his balance and was severely choked by the smoke.

After a moment, he turned his head and looked over, his pupils involuntarily contracting slightly.

"Wu Hanfeng?! What are you doing here?"

Wu Hanfeng stepped forward, stood at attention, saluted, and said with a serious expression:

"Comrade Political Commissar, Wu Hanfeng, deputy squad leader of the third squad of the disciplinary inspection team, is conducting a routine inspection."

Before Zhao Long could react, Wu Hanfeng had already pulled out the disciplinary officer's notebook.

"Comrade Political Commissar, according to the 'Disciplinary Regulations' and the 'No-Smoking Regulations in the Barracks,' the office building is a completely no-smoking area, and no one is allowed to smoke inside. As the political commissar, you know these regulations better than anyone else. Did your actions just now constitute a violation?"

Zhao Long opened his mouth slightly, but didn't know how to answer.

Is this a violation?

He doesn't know!

He has never paid attention to this since he became a battalion commander.

Smoking...

Damn, he's been smoking all along!

Nobody told him where he could smoke or where he couldn't!

Perhaps, he knew it a long time ago.

But now... who the hell remembers that?!

"Um... Comrade Wu Hanfeng, I..."

But before he could finish speaking, Wu Hanfeng interrupted him, saying, "Comrade Political Commissar, please watch your words. There is no Comrade Wu Hanfeng here, only the military police."

Zhao Long: "..."

He Dong: "..."

Seeing Wu Hanfeng's incorruptible demeanor, Zhao Long could also tell.

This kid was assigned to the disciplinary team by the regimental commander, Li Cuicui, and he harbored resentment.

Sure enough, on his very first day in office, he came to vent his anger on them!

The main problem is that they were just doing their job officially, and there was really nothing he could do about it!

After taking a deep breath, Zhao Kong calmed down. After all, he was a political commissar and had been a soldier for so many years, so he had the mental fortitude to back it up.

After extinguishing his cigarette, he smiled and said to Wu Hanfeng:

"Hello, officer, it was wrong of me to smoke here. I violated the rules. I admit it."

This surprised Wu Hanfeng somewhat.

He thought Zhao Long would at least use his status to pressure or threaten him, but he didn't expect him to admit it so readily.

"Comrade Political Commissar, according to the disciplinary procedures—"

Wu Hanfeng was about to take notes when Zhao Long stopped him, saying, "I'll do it. I'll write the self-examination report as well."

Wu Hanfeng: "???"

He Dong: "???"

As expected of a political commissar, his awareness is truly high!

Before the two could react, Zhao Long had already grabbed his notebook and started writing furiously, saying as he wrote:

"I had three meetings this afternoon, and the documents piled up on the table. I was feeling dizzy and just wanted to light a cigarette to relax. Little did I expect you to catch me like that."

As he spoke, Zhao Long looked up at the two of them.

Wu Hanfeng still acted like he was a champion of justice.

But He Dong, who came later, was different.

Her eyes darted around, and she didn't dare to look at him at all.

Zhao Long lowered his head and continued writing, saying with a smile, "That young comrade in the back, you should learn from your class vice-commander. Look how strong his mental fortitude is."

"You are on official duty, not thieves, so what's there to be afraid of?"

"Political Commissar, I don't eat people. Of course, I'm not a god either, and I make mistakes too."

"If you do something wrong, you have to accept the punishment. There's nothing to say about that. You did the right thing, so don't be afraid."

Upon hearing this, He Dong felt both frightened and touched.

Having served as a military police officer for more than half a year, he had never met anyone as reasonable as the political commissar.

He is truly a role model for all of us who serve in the military!

Wu Hanfeng was the same; the political commissar's words made him realize that this person's vision was truly extraordinary.

The future prospects are definitely bright!

After writing for two minutes, Zhao Long returned the notebook to Wu Hanfeng: "Take a look, is it up to standard?"

Wu Hanfeng took the notebook and was immediately amazed.

He never expected that a simple self-examination could be written so well!

Especially the last few sentences: As political cadres, we should set an example and strictly discipline ourselves.

Absolutely flawless!

"Comrade Political Commissar, this self-criticism is written—quite professionally," Wu Hanfeng couldn't help but praise.

"I'm used to it."

Zhao Long smiled wryly, "Every year when I give you discipline education classes, the first thing I say is that you must do what you expect others to do. Today I smoked a cigarette in the hallway. If word gets out, who will listen to me in class anymore?"

Wu Hanfeng nodded: "The political commissar took the initiative to admit his mistake, and his attitude was sincere. According to the disciplinary procedures, those who take the initiative to admit their mistakes will be dealt with leniently. However, political commissar, you will have to stand guard in front of the office building for an hour, so that you will remember this lesson and not forget what happened today."

Zhao Long's smile froze instantly.

"Standing...on guard duty?"

"Yes. Standing at attention at the main entrance of the government building for an hour."

Wu Hanfeng opened the Discipline Rules for the Regiment and began to read: "Article 12 of Chapter 3 of the 'Detailed Rules for the Work of the Regiment': If an officer is caught smoking in a no-smoking area and the circumstances are relatively minor and the officer shows a good attitude in admitting his mistake, the Regiment Team shall arrange for him to stand guard at the entrance of the office building for one to two hours as a form of punishment and to give a personal account of his actions."

Zhao Long was stunned on the spot.

Damn, this kid's serious!

Writing a self-criticism wasn't enough; they also made me stand guard as punishment?

I'm the political commissar!

If this gets out, won't I lose all face?

He Dong, who was standing next to him, was also stunned.

This old man not only made the political commissar write a self-criticism, but also made him stand guard.

He's a real tiger!

Even if the captain comes, let alone stand guard, he wouldn't dare to mention it at all, let alone conduct an inspection!

"that……"

Zhao Long tried to plead, "Wu... no! Comrade Inspector, look, I have a lot of things to do right now, could I be excused from this guard duty?"

"I promise I won't smoke here again next time."

He Dong wanted to offer some advice, but before he could speak, Wu Hanfeng said, "No way! If I don't teach you a lesson, you'll do it again next time."

"Comrade Political Commissar, you are in charge of the political discipline work of our regiment."

"I think you'll set a good example, won't you?"

Now that things have come to this point, if Zhao Long were to say anything more, it would make him seem petty.

"Fine." Zhao Long gritted his teeth. "I'll stand."

"Comrade Political Commissar, please." Wu Hanfeng turned slightly to the side and stretched out his arm towards the top of the stairs. Anyone who didn't know better would think he was seeing off a leader!

After putting the documents back in the room, Zhao Long turned around and walked out. Looking at Wu Hanfeng's face, which was filled with both justice and evil, he wished he could also pull out Seven Wolves like Li Cuicui and teach this fool a lesson!

When Zhao Long, Wu Hanfeng, and He Dong came out again, the sentry immediately stood at attention and saluted.

They initially thought the political commissar was going to take the two away, but Wu Hanfeng's next words almost made their eyes pop out!

Wu Hanfeng pointed to the side of the office building and said to Zhao Long, "Comrade Political Commissar, you will stand here. Facing the gate, at the perfect military posture, for one hour. But since you are the political commissar, there are a few things I would like to tell you."

"While you are on guard duty, try not to move, talk, or chat with the sentries at the gate."

"However, if you get really tired of standing, you can switch legs for a bit. After all, you're not young anymore, and standing for an hour is quite tiring."

"If you feel you can't hold on any longer, just let me know and I'll cut it by ten minutes. Anyway, the logbook says an hour, but how long you actually stand is up to you."

"We can handle this flexibly."

Zhao Long's expression instantly became extremely strange.

This kid punished him, but then pretended to be acting like he was doing it for his own good.

I have to owe him a favor?

The two sentries exchanged a glance, both seeing the same words in each other's eyes: "Holy shit!"

My daughter has a fever, so I'll skip the 3 AM update for now.

If the patient's condition stabilizes and I can update the chapter tonight, I will continue to do so!

I'm sorry!
