I enlisted four times! My former unit blacklisted me.

The last month of the following year.

Wu Hanfeng raised the training intensity for the new recruits to another level!

But with the foundation laid in the previous month, the new recruits trained even more enthusiastically and intensely.

He's even started to enjoy training a bit.

Even on my days off, I feel uncomfortable if I don't run five kilometers to warm up.

Unsurprisingly, in the graduation assessment, all subjects and all students in Class One achieved top marks!

Everyone ran the 5km in under 19 minutes!

Pull-ups, more than 40 for each!

These achievements are unprecedented in the decades since the regiment was founded!

In no time, the first platoon of the first company of new recruits became the star platoon of the entire regiment!

Three days before graduation and the start of the next training session.

Inside the company commander's office.

At this time, Wu Hanfeng, Zhou Haibo, and Liu Yang were also present.

Chen Zhiyuan took out a list and handed it to the three of them.

"These are the recruits I initially selected last night, the new recruits our Third Company will take with us."

"Take a look."

"This time, twenty people were assigned to our Third Company."

"There are ten people here. According to regulations, other recruit companies should randomly assign four people to us."

"I've reserved six for you three. Each of you can choose two more from your own squad."

Liu Yang picked up the list and looked at it, then frowned slightly and said, "Company Commander, apart from Zhao Yihang, Ma Teng, and a few other top athletes, the rest of your ten names are only average or below average."

Chen Zhiyuan laughed and scolded, "Otherwise what? You really think this first company of new recruits is my own?"

"You want to take all the top students away?"

"Even if the regiment agreed, let alone disagree, the company commanders of the veterans' company would come over and berate us to death."

"According to the rules, we can only select eight outstanding ones, six average ones, two below average ones, and the remaining four will be automatically assigned to us by the other three recruit companies."

"Now, each of you has two spots. Choose."

Wu Hanfeng thought for a moment, picked up a pen, and wrote down two names: Sun Dawei and Qian Kun.

three days later.

In the auditorium.

A grand ceremony was held to celebrate the graduation and commendation of new recruits.

Zhao Yihang was awarded the titles of Physical Fitness Champion and Pull-up Champion in the new recruit training program.

Sun Dawei was awarded the title of "Model Soldier in Hand Grenade Training".

Wu Hanfeng was also named an outstanding squad leader among the new recruits!

The first recruit company was rated as an outstanding recruit company!

The first platoon of the first company of new recruits has been recognized as an outstanding new recruit platoon!

After the commendation ceremony, Li Cuicui shouted:

"Now, let's begin the conferment ceremony!"

"Attention, everyone! Stand up!"

Snapped!

Hundreds of new recruits stood up from their chairs and stood ramrod straight!

"Take out your rank insignia, armbands, and badges."

"Pair up, conferment ceremony begins!"

Immediately, the company commanders began directing their squads to affix their military ranks.

"Yihang! Now we can finally truly be considered soldiers!"

Qian Kun and Zhao Yihang paired up, each holding a military rank insignia, shoulder insignia, and armband, and then pinned them on each other.

During their basic training, they did not have military ranks or anything like that.

The training uniform was just like the camouflage uniforms worn in the outside world—completely bare.

But now that I'm wearing it, the feeling is completely different.

Zhao Yihang rolled his eyes at him, "It's just a crooked beam, why are you so excited?"

"When will this crooked beam turn into a star? That would be truly amazing!"

Qian Kun was startled. "You mean promotion? To a cadre position?"

Zhao Yihang said, "Otherwise what? Are you content to be a soldier for the rest of your life?"

As the saying goes, a soldier who doesn't want to be a general is not a good soldier.

Qian Kun smiled wryly: "I don't have your kind of ambition."

"All I ask for now is to be in the same company as you and Brother Feng. And if possible, I'd like to stay in the unit as a sergeant."

"A cadre? I wouldn't even dare to dream of that."

Zhao Yihang said, "After this is over, we'll have to go back and pack our bags, then go to the comprehensive training ground to assemble and be divided into companies."

"I wonder what arrangements the company commander will make."

Qian Kun said nervously, "I hope the company commander won't separate us!"

As for Wu Hanfeng, Zhou Haibo presented him with a military rank insignia.

However, it is not the rank of private, but the rank of second-term sergeant.

He served in the army for six years before this year, making it seven years now.

A soldier who has served for seven years is equivalent to a second-level sergeant according to the military's sergeant rank standards.

For the first two years, I was a conscript.

The third to fifth years are for first-term sergeants.

The sixth to eighth years are the second term of sergeant.

The ninth to twelfth years were the third term of sergeant.

Next comes sergeant major, and in combat units, becoming a sergeant major is even more difficult than being promoted to officer.

Ninety-nine percent of non-commissioned officers are stuck at this threshold.

It's only easy to get a job in a technical unit like a motor transport company, equipment repair depot, or air force logistics.

Currently, there are only three sergeant majors in the entire regiment.

After putting the pin on Wu Hanfeng, Zhou Haibo quietly looked at him and said, "You've really turned the tables this time!"

"With your current grades, transferring to the third phase in two years shouldn't be a problem."

"I can stay in the military for at least five years now, and I don't have to worry about being discharged anymore."

Wu Hanfeng chuckled: "What if I get promoted and become a military officer?"

Surprisingly, Zhou Haibo didn't refute this time. Instead, he nodded and said, "To be honest, with your current abilities, it's not impossible."

After the conferment ceremony, the new recruits of each company were taken back.

Pack your bags and prepare to head to the comprehensive training ground to split up and go to your companies!
