The immortal of the Tang Dynasty, but the game starts at Xuanwu Gate?

I'll follow you into the house, you idiot.

What kind of nonsense is this?

Chen Huai'an was speechless. After saying goodbye to Changsun Wugou, he followed her away.

Upon entering the hall, the two sat facing each other.

Li Shimin opened his mouth and said, "Huai'an, tell me, what do you want? As long as it's not too outrageous, I will grant it to you."

Chen Huai'an thought for a moment, then made a request: "Give me a sinecure that doesn't require me to attend court."

"Your Highness, as you know, I'm used to a leisurely life, and I really can't get up in the morning."

Li Shimin was taken aback, then angrily retorted, "Damn it! I told you not to go too far, didn't you understand?"

Chen Huai'an: "......."

"No, who's really going too far? Why are you always resorting to insults? I just want a sinecure that doesn't require me to attend court, is that so unreasonable?"

Li Shimin resolutely refused: "That's too much. I can't agree to that. You might as well ask me for the title of Duke."

"Aren't you tempted by fiefdoms, mansions, and fields?"

Chen Huai'an glared: "I'm a damn lonely bachelor with only one maidservant at home. What use would I have for a mansion?"

"Families and lands? I have the beauty trap to make money, what use would I have for these?"

"Don't you have any..." Li Shimin was furious, and was about to say something when he suddenly froze.

He grasped the key point in Chen Huai'an's words.

Li Shimin stared intently at Chen Huai'an, leaving the latter somewhat bewildered.

"How about... I find you a few women?"

Chen Huai'an: ?

woman?

"Damn it, if I wanted to find a woman, wouldn't I be able to find one?" He was starting to lose his guard. "Take it or leave it, if you don't give it to me, I don't even want it."

"Hahahaha!" Instead of being annoyed by Chen Huai'an's insults, Li Shimin burst into laughter.

He felt that he finally had a way to control Chen Huai'an.

Li Shimin teased, "Chen Huai'an, you are the only son of your Chen family. You yourself said that your family has done everything they could to help you get ahead."

"Now that you have risen to prominence and hold a high position, when I take over, you will at least be a duke."

"But you are over twenty years old and have no descendants."

"As the old saying goes, of the three unfilial acts, the greatest is to have no offspring."

"Chen Huai'an, do you think you've done right by your parents and your sister?"

Chen Huai'an was speechless for a moment.

In the minds of feudal dynasties, it was a serious problem if a man was still childless by the age of twenty.

The key point is that Chen Huai'an, a modern soul, doesn't think it's a big deal to be without children at twenty.

Moreover, he is an immortal.

He had never considered this question before!

"...Never mind, I don't want any rewards. I've come here today not only to bring the curved plow, but also to discuss important matters with Your Highness." Unable to make a decision, Chen Huai'an simply changed the subject.

Li Shimin chuckled twice, then nodded with a smile, but didn't bring up the topic again: "Go on."

Chen Huai'an looked at his smug expression, his eyes twitching. Too lazy to waste words, he simply took out a stack of blueprints from his pocket.

"Your Highness, please take a look. This is what I'm about to do. It may violate some laws, so I need to let you know first."

"Oh?" Li Shimin became interested at the mention of this and took the blueprints given to him by Chen Huai'an to look at them.

However, there are many things he doesn't quite understand.

He either couldn't understand the things on it, or they were too strange, such as the four-wheeled carriage and the bent iron sheet, and he didn't know what they were used for.

However, upon turning to the next page, Li Shimin's expression became serious.

He pulled out a blueprint: "You want to forge weapons?"

Chen Huai'an coughed lightly: "This wasn't made for me, it was made for you."

"Its name is Mo Dao, and it was specifically designed to deal with Turkic cavalry."

Li Shimin understood, but Chen Huai'an was still a little uneasy. He wanted to prepare more things for him to deal with the approaching Turkic army.

"The Mo Dao..." Li Shimin stroked his chin and examined it carefully: "It's somewhat like the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, but it's straighter, the blade is longer, and it's double-edged."

"Can it deal with cavalry?"

Chen Huai'an said confidently, "If we use it with the current iron forging technology, it can be used to deal with cavalry. If an infantryman with amazing arm strength were to use it, he would definitely be able to cut down the cavalryman with one stroke."

"However, Your Highness, take a look at this..." Chen Huai'an said, pointing to a blueprint on the paper, which depicted a forging furnace with bellows.

"I improved the forging process and added coke to iron smelting. The weapons forged in this way are far harder than the best weapons in the Tang Dynasty."

"If, based on this, we were to use the hundred-refinement method to forge the long-handled sword, and then select infantrymen with extraordinary arm strength to use it, one strike..."

At this point, Chen Huai'an stopped.

Li Shimin was listening intently, and seeing that he didn't continue, he couldn't help but ask, "What would happen if I cut him down?"

"Both men and horses were annihilated!"

"Hiss!" Li Shimin immediately made a contribution to global warming, and his mind was already imagining that scene.

His eyes burned with fervor as he asked, "Is it really that powerful?"

"Did I ever boast?" Chen Huai'an retorted.

Li Shimin fell into deep thought.

There is no doubt that Chen Huai'an has never boasted.

The other party has already proven itself time and again.

What made him ponder was... was it still necessary to let Chen Huai'an continue to slack off?

Why isn't he hurrying up and taking office as Minister of Works?

However, the thought of the other party's lazy appearance gave Li Shimin a headache.

The other party indeed did not seek power or wealth, had no interest in fame or fortune, and disliked attending court.

The key is that they are sincerely helping you, so you can't repay kindness with enmity and force them, can you?

Just as Li Shimin was pondering, Chen Huai'an asked, "Your Highness, do you agree?"

"If you agree, I need to arrange for someone to build it right away. This can't wait; time is of the essence."

Li Shimin snapped out of his daze and immediately said, "Fight! We must fight those Mo Dao!"

"Go ahead and do it, I guarantee no one will say anything against you."

Chen Huai'an nodded first, then coughed lightly: "Your Highness, forging the Mo Dao is no problem... but..."

"But what?"

"The cost of forging this Mo Dao is quite high, and time is tight. To forge enough Mo Dao for your infantry, it will probably require a large number of craftsmen."

"This will cost...no small sum of money."

Li Shimin suddenly realized this, but he didn't have any objections to it.

They've already given you the Mo Dao (陌刀), so you can't expect them to put in both effort and money; there's no such logic in the world.

He initially didn't take it seriously, casually asking, "How much does this Mo Dao (陌刀) cost? How many people are needed?"

"A preliminary estimate is that the cost of one Mo Dao (陌刀) is about fifty guan (贯)?"

"...You mean Duo Shao? You mean Duo Shao?"

"......"
