When I'm on the night shift, all the department heads can't sleep.

Chapter 144 The table is not an award certificate

Lin Ye was woken up by the third alarm clock.

He turned off the first two alarms without thinking. When the second one rang, Ma Hao, who was in the opposite bed, cursed, rolled over, and pulled the blanket over his head. It wasn't until the third alarm rang right next to his ear that Lin Ye finally sat up, propping himself up on the edge of the bed, and stared at the pair of shoes by the bed for a couple of seconds.

Ma Hao poked half his face out from under the covers, looking like he hadn't woken up yet.

"Brother Lin, what time is it?"

"2:40."

"Oh my god, I have skills training at 3 o'clock." Ma Hao closed his eyes and did some calculations, then frowned. "You're going to the demonstration room at 3:30?"

"Yes. I went to listen to the arrangements as soon as I woke up."

"Is the quality control office here too?"

"They said they were coming, but I hope they don't."

Ma Hao finally sat up, his hair a mess, looking like a bird's nest.

"Brother Lin, dress neatly. What if you really get an award?"

Lin Ye threw his coat onto his bed.

"Send you m".

"I'm not worthy." Ma Hao pulled his coat aside, not fully awake yet, but his mouth was already taunting him, "I can even mistake a nosebleed for a fever."

Lin Ye heard this while brushing his teeth and replied to him with toothpaste foam in his mouth.

"Don't try to make yourself look like you're the one who wronged yourself. You were the one who reported that about the gums."

Ma Hao was stunned for a moment.

"So from now on, do I have to ask everyone with a nosebleed about their gums?"

Lin Ye couldn't speak clearly, but gave him a knowing look.

Ma Hao shook his head.

"You even act like a tutor when you're washing up."

At 3:30 PM, the old projector in the demonstration room lit up slowly, the screen mostly gray. Zhou Min sat by the window. Liu Zhenhua held a file folder, and Qin Hai stood beside the projection screen.

When Lin Ye entered, Liu Zhenhua glanced at his shoes first.

"Not wearing slippers, it's alright."

Lin Ye pulled out a chair.

"Teacher Qin specifically instructed me to do so."

Qin Hai snorted.

"If you don't tell me, are you planning to wear the ones from the dorm?"

Zhou Min flipped through her watch without looking up.

"Let's put aside the aesthetics of the emergency room for now. No promotional photos today."

Liu Zhenhua did not look through the file folder first.

He placed a blank form in front of Lin Ye.

The header reads "Nighttime High-Risk Clue Verification Record".

"The high-risk assessments last night were timely," Liu Zhenhua said. "The emergency room, specialists, and nurses all took over when it was their turn. That goes without saying."

Lin Ye looked at the blank form.

Liu Zhenhua nodded the top of the watch.

"Your role is to single out a few people who are easy to blend into the regular queue and make them visible to the higher-ups."

Qin Hai didn't expose him; he simply threw the pen in his hand onto the table.

"Accept what needs to be acknowledged, and follow the rules from now on."

Lin Ye pulled the form a little closer to himself.

"I see."

Zhou Min then spoke.

"This form does three things: why you feel it can't proceed as usual, who reviewed it, and what else needs to be done."

Liu Zhenhua opened the folder, revealing several old records inside.

"We've already seen those previous ones. There's no need to go over the details of the illness here."

Qin Hai tapped the table.

"Starting tonight, you and Ma Hao will sit next to the triage area. The triage nurses will continue to triage as usual, and you will keep an eye on those who look normal but whose details don't match up."

Lin Ye looked up.

"Me and Ma Hao?"

"Otherwise what?" Qin Hai said, "If I just sit there, the patients will think that the emergency room is going to charge an upgraded fee."

Zhou Min burst out laughing.

Liu Zhenhua pulled out another blank form.

"Try it for three days first. Not everyone needs to fill it out. If you really think it's wrong, then bring it out. The person who submits the form can be you, a nurse, Ma Hao, or the attending physician; the reviewer must be a superior or specialist."

He handed the pen to Lin Ye.

"Just write it clearly, don't write it like a thesis. If the quality control office can understand it tomorrow and the frontline doctors can handle it, then this form will be useful."

Qin Hai added a sentence.

"Prioritize saving lives during rescue efforts; make up for the time difference later. Don't leave people waiting just to fill out forms."

Lin Ye hummed in agreement.

Before getting up, Liu Zhenhua called his name again.

"Linye."

Lin Ye looked up.

Liu Zhenhua tucked the file folder back under his arm.

"You did a great job last night."

After the door closed, only the emergency department staff remained in the demonstration room.

Ma Hao peeked out from outside the door as his skills training had just finished.

"Is it all done? Have the prizes been awarded?"

Zhou Min rolled her eyes at him.

"It's been sent."

Ma Hao's eyes lit up.

"What? They really gave out prizes?"

Qin Hai handed over another blank form.

"Here's a prize for you too. You'll be sitting in the triage room with him tonight."

Ma Hao looked down at his watch and remained silent for a long time.

"Director Zhou, can we get this award back?"

Zhou Min picked up her bag and walked out.

"Once a job is dispatched from the emergency room, it cannot be returned."

Qin Hai turned off the projector.

"Let's leave it at that for tonight. Nurse Zhu, distribute the medications as usual. You two keep a close eye on the patient's medical history and follow-up appointment times. If anything seems amiss, let me know."

At 6:20 p.m., the triage desk began its shift change.

Nurse Li had already finished her shift and was resting. Nurse Zhu placed the thermometer, number slips, and two blank forms beside her. Less than five minutes into the shift change, someone peeked out from in front of the triage desk.

Ma Hao placed the watch on the table and lowered his voice.

"Let's start with something simple tonight."

Just as Lin Ye was about to reply, a shout came from the other end.

"Doctor, my dad says he has a bloated stomach and wants some medicine to take home."

Qin Hai was just coming out of the office when he heard this, but he didn't turn his head.

"Did you hear that? The regular one is here."

Lin Ye moved the form aside and winked at Ma Hao.

"Go and find out what's going on."
