The moment the girl uttered "Doctor," Lin Ye had already stood up.

The alarm clock is set for 30 minutes, and there are still nine minutes to go.

Tao Ziang sat on the waiting chair, his right hand pressed against his stomach, the sweat on his forehead more pronounced than before. His phone was still resting on his lap, but he no longer checked his messages.

"Do you feel like throwing up?"

Tao Ziang nodded.

The girl held his arm, speaking somewhat hastily.

"He was able to reply to me a couple of times just now, but he hasn't said a word since. He said his right side hurts even more, and he's been pulling at it when he stands up."

Lin Ye didn't immediately reach out to touch his stomach, but instead squatted down a little so that Tao Ziang could see him.

"Does the pain still spread to the right side? Has it moved to another area?"

"Still on the right."

"It hurts more than when the doctor examined you just now?"

Tao Ziang gritted his teeth and spoke after two seconds.

"It hurts more than before."

Nurse Zhu looked up from behind the triage desk.

"Ma Hao, please have your temperature checked again. Families with children, please sit down first. I see you. I just checked this, but the situation is different now; this isn't about cutting in line."

The woman behind her moved her lips, and finally hugged the child tighter in her arms.

Ma Hao brought over the temperature gun and first aimed the probe at Tao Ziang's forehead.

"Body temperature 37.5 degrees Celsius."

Lin Ye glanced at Nurse Zhu.

"Have the blood test results come back yet?"

Nurse Zhu switched to the testing page, her finger pausing on the mouse for a moment.

"We have the blood test results, but not the urine test."

She turned the test page to the inside and hovered the mouse over the line of results.

Qin Hai had just returned from the observation area, and the IV reaction report in his hand hadn't even been tucked into his medical record yet. Seeing Nurse Zhu's actions, he immediately changed direction.

"Tao Zi'ang this one?"

Lin Ye flipped the triage slip over and handed it over.

"It's not time for a follow-up questioning yet. He feels nauseous, the pain in his lower right abdomen is getting worse, and his temperature has risen. Here are the blood test results."

Qin Hai glanced at the back of the triage slip and then looked at the test results page.

"Tell Xiao Chen to look at it again."

The doctor on duty peeked out of the examination room.

"That lower right abdomen?"

"It's him."

Tao Ziang frowned slightly when he heard that he had to go into the consultation room.

"Still touching me?"

The doctor on duty pulled back the curtain.

"If you keep doing the same thing as before, I won't bother touching it anymore. But things are different now, so I have to look at it again."

The girl helped him up.

Tao Ziang had just straightened up a little when he bent back down and unconsciously pressed his hands even tighter.

No explanation was needed; several people nearby had already seen it.

Nurse Zhu stopped Ma Hao, who also wanted to squeeze in.

"You stay outside. Write down your temperature and time, so that everyone can squeeze in if something happens."

Ma Hao pulled his foot back and lowered his head to finish recording.

There was silence inside the curtain for a few seconds.

Tao Ziang hummed in a low voice.

The voice of the on-duty doctor came from inside.

"Don't hold your breath. If it hurts, just say so."

The girl became nervous.

"Does it hurt a lot?"

"Don't ask him yet," the on-duty doctor said. "If he answers you, his stomach will strain even more."

Lin Ye stood outside the curtain, not squeezing in.

He heard a pause after a press, and then he heard Tao Ziang gasp.

The on-duty doctor came out quickly, still with his gloves on.

"The tenderness in my lower right abdomen is more pronounced than before, and it hurts when I release my grip. My abdominal muscles aren't tense yet, but I can't just let it drain like a normal abdominal pain anymore."

Qin Hai looked at Nurse Zhu.

Nurse Zhu whispered the results to him.

"White blood cell count is over 13, and neutrophil percentage is over 80."

When Tao Ziang was helped out, his temples were already wet. This time, he didn't mention going back to the shop; he only glanced at the phone in the girl's hand.

The girl hid her phone a little behind her back.

"I'll get back to the boss. You should listen to the doctor first."

The doctor on duty threw the gloves into the medical waste bin.

"From now on, don't eat or drink anything, and don't give yourself any painkillers. Wait next to the examination room until the general surgeon comes down."

Tao Ziang responded softly.

The girl then asked, "The painkiller he just took, the store's colleague took a picture of the box."

She handed me the photo. The medicine box was a bit blurry in the photo; only half of the front was visible.

Qin Hai glanced at it.

"Send the photo to the nurses' station so the doctor can see the medication name. The doctor needs to see the medication, and the patient can't wait outside anymore."

Lin Ye forwarded the photo to Nurse Zhu's work number.

Qin Hai turned to him.

"Bring out that review form."

Ma Hao put down his pen and reached for the empty table on the corner of the table.

Qin Hai looked at him.

"Ma Hao, you write it."

Ma Hao was stunned for a moment.

"I wrote?"

"Weren't you in the triage area together?"

Nurse Zhu then delivered the final blow.

"Write slowly, don't add another stroke to someone's name."

Ma Hao spread out the review form and first wrote down the names according to the triage slip.

Lin Ye looked at the first column of the form.

"The first column describes the changes. Before the follow-up questioning time, I already felt nauseous, and my lower right abdomen was more painful than before. My body temperature was 37.5 degrees Celsius."

Ma Hao finished writing and looked up.

"Based on which column?"

"The doctor examined me again, and the tenderness in my lower right abdomen was more pronounced than before; it hurts when I release my grip. My blood test showed a white blood cell count of just over 13 and a neutrophil percentage of just over 80. The urinalysis results haven't come back yet."

Qin Hai tapped the middle column with his finger.

"Don't write 'diagnosis' in the 'treatment' section."

Lin Ye took over.

"I'll request a consultation with the general surgeon. We need to wait for the urinalysis and imaging results. Don't eat or drink anything yet. Just wait next to the examination room. We'll see you when the surgeon arrives."

Ma Hao wrote, "The person is waiting next to the clinic," and looked up at Qin Hai.

"How should we write this sentence? We can't just write 'People aren't allowed to leave,' can we?"

Qin Hai tapped the pen on that square.

Write "Stay in the emergency room awaiting general surgery consultation." Just write it clearly on the form; don't write that you are not allowed to leave.

Ma Hao crossed out the words he had only written halfway and rewrote them.

Nurse Zhu had already picked up the phone.

"Is the general surgery department on duty? This is the emergency triage area. A 24-year-old male has worsened right lower abdominal pain on re-examination, and his blood count is high. Dr. Qin wants you to come down and take a look. He hasn't eaten or drunk anything, can walk, but it hurts when he walks."

She listened for a few moments, then turned around.

"About ten minutes."

Upon hearing the time, Tao Ziang wanted to check his phone again.

The girl pressed the screen first.

"I told the boss, 'Don't worry about it.'"

She walked to the chair and sent a voice message to the boss.

"Brother, he's in the hospital emergency room. Those two machines definitely can't be repaired tonight. Could you please reschedule for the client? Don't rush him; he's in a lot of pain right now."

After sending the voice message, she held the phone for a while before putting it on her lap.

Tao Ziang looked at her, his voice muffled behind his mask.

"deposit……"

The girl sniffed, interrupting him directly.

"Don't worry about the deposit for now. If there's a real need for compensation, I'll talk to the boss."

"Don't use your pad."

"You can pay me back later." She turned her face away. "Sit down first, don't make me help you up while I'm replying to messages."

Nurse Zhu dragged the chair next to her half a step towards the door of the examination room.

"Sit here. Your girlfriend can stay with you, but let him tell you whether it hurts or not. If you tell him it's too mild, the doctor might misdiagnose it; if you tell him it's too severe, he'll get angry with you."

The girl nodded.

"Okay, I'll let him talk."

Tao Ziang slowly sat down, this time without complaining that she was being helped up.

The calling numbers outside resumed. The feverish child was brought to the triage desk. An elderly person asked where the restroom was. Nurse Zhu gave directions while having Ma Hao attach the verification form to the back of the triage slip.

After clipping it in place, Ma Hao glanced at the original alarm clock, turned it off, and reset it to ten minutes later.

Before the ten-minute alarm had even finished ticking, people had already arrived at the clinic door.
