When I'm on the night shift, all the department heads can't sleep.

Chapter 201 is yours now, I'm going to sleep.

Lin Ye looked at the message his mother sent and replied after a few seconds.

The hospital is handling the situation according to protocol, and I am currently safe. I can't disclose the specifics yet; you and Dad should rest first. I'll send you another message once I'm in the rest room.

My mother's message quickly showed "typing," changed twice, and finally sent a very short message.

Okay, I won't ask about the patient. Just let me know when you arrive, so I don't have to check my phone in the middle of the night.

Lin Ye replied with an "OK," and his phone vibrated again as soon as he put it into his white coat pocket.

He took it out and saw that it was a call from Ma Hao.

"I finally have someone to take over here, how about you?"

"Fang Qi is almost here."

"Then I'll go test how hard the bed is for you."

"You sleep in the administration building, I sleep in the fever clinic, we can't switch even if we try."

"Yeah, right. Let's see who gets the most sleep once we get out."

Someone shouted on the phone, "Ma Hao, the last item still needs your verification!"

"Coming," Ma Hao replied. "I'll hang up now."

The call ended, and the access control outside the call center immediately beeped.

Fang Qi came from the cleaning and rest area behind the fever clinic. He was in the same batch as Lin Ye, and on the area registration page he handed over, it said "rear cleaning passage" after his name.

"I'll be on the liaison desk tonight. Will Dr. Wei still be in charge of the observation section?"

"Yes. You handle contact with the clean zone, results reporting, and transfer information."

Fang Qi pulled the chair to the liaison desk and first opened the records of the three observation positions.

The evening re-evaluation for the first two people was completed, and the time for their next re-test had also been filled in. He turned to Gao Yuan's page and glanced at the time for his next re-test.

"If a bed becomes available first, will we still conduct testing this time?"

"We'll retest you when the time comes. You'll still be here with us until the vehicle arrives. If the readings change, we'll report it to Dr. Wei so he can reassess you at your bedside."

Fang Qi continued scrolling down: "Gao Yuan can answer the phone himself now. If there are any changes to his bed or transfer, should I tell him first, or contact his family first?"

"Talk to him first. His father is already at the designated hospital, and there's another phone number left at home; it's on the contact page."

Fang Qi opened the contact page, verified the number and relationship, and then entered his employee number in the handover field.

The moment the page was saved, the medical team called.

A standard isolation bed has been secured in Gaoyuan. The negative pressure ambulance is expected to arrive in forty minutes. The most recent temperature, blood oxygen, and symptom records must be taken with the ambulance.

Fang Qi inquired about the receiving ward, vehicle number, and estimated arrival time, recorded these details on the transfer page, and then reported them to Wei Heng via internal line.

The monitor on the observation side lit up again quickly. Gao Yuan had already heard about the bed allocation and asked over the phone, "Is this the hospital my dad went to?"

Fang Qi dialed back to the medical treatment team. The other party verified the received information and confirmed that the father and son had been transferred to the same designated hospital, but to different wards, and would not be able to visit each other after admission.

"It's the same hospital, but the wards are separate." Fang Qi relayed this to Gao Yuan. "Once you arrive, you'll be treated according to the assigned ward. The doctor will continue to contact your family regarding your father's condition."

Gao Yuan was silent for a moment, then replied, "The same company is fine. You don't need to look for him for me; I know I can't see him now."

Fang Qi added the communication and the patient's response to the contact page before putting down the intercom.

Lin Ye moved to the other side of the workstation, leaving the spot next to the inside line for Fang Qi.

When Wei Heng retested Gao Yuan, Gao Yuan still had a sore throat, was able to walk to the bathroom independently, and did not experience significant shortness of breath after activity.

Wei Heng listened to the breathing sounds again, and asked about the patient's chest tightness, dizziness, and food and water intake. He then confirmed that the original observation period should be maintained and the patient should wait for transfer.

When the data came in from the internal line, Fang Qi had already opened the transfer handover page. He filled in each cell and then reported it to Lin Ye for verification.

"Body temperature 38 degrees Celsius, blood oxygen 96, respiratory rate 20 breaths per minute. Blood oxygen will be measured again before boarding the vehicle. The pre-transfer assessment will be conducted by Dr. Wei."

Lin Ye finished reading the page: "The phone number for receiving patients in the ward hasn't been filled in yet."

"The other party reported it quickly, so I asked the medical team to send the message again."

Less than a minute later, Fang Qi received the number on his work phone. He went back to the page and dialed the number again to confirm that the call could be connected.

Lin Ye pressed the handover confirmation button.

Fang Qi looked at Lin Ye: "Are you still waiting for him to get in the car?"

"I'm not waiting any longer. You can have the rest. I'm going to get some sleep."

"That's right." Fang Qi turned the handover page back to his face. "If there really is a change, I'll report to Dr. Wei first, then contact him using the number on the page. Don't worry about this place even after you've fallen asleep."

Lin Ye took off his white coat and put it, along with his work badge, into the locker in the cleaning area. After washing his hands, he went to the rest room following the route designated by the access control.

There were four makeshift folding beds in the room, two of which were already occupied. The one near the door was reserved for him, with an unopened set of toiletries at the foot of the bed, and a thin blanket folded neatly.

He sat down by the bed and sent a message to his mother first.

We've arrived at the rest room; time to get ready for bed.

The mother replied with a single word.

【it is good. 】

Lin Ye set several work contacts to allow calls and silenced his personal messages before lying down.

There was a crossbeam in the middle of the folding bed, which pressed against his lower back when he turned over. He moved up a bit, put his rolled-up coat behind his back, and finally found a place where he could sleep.

Someone pushed a water tank past the door; the wheels bumped against the threshold and quickly disappeared into the distance. The person in the next bed turned over, the plastic pillowcase making a soft rustling sound.

Lin Ye closed his eyes and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

In the early morning, my phone alarm clock vibrated beside my pillow.

When he opened his eyes, the light in the break room was still off. His coat had slipped to the floor, and half of the thin blanket had fallen off.

Lin Ye sat up and rested for half a minute before picking up his coat and washing his face.

After washing up, he ate bread and drank room-temperature milk at the cleaning and rest area, then threw the empty carton into the trash can.

After putting his white coat back on and his name tag on, he returned to the liaison station along the cleaning route. Fang Qi was still by the work phone, while Lin Ye stood to the side of the work station, flipping through the night's records from the shift handover onwards.

Transferred out at 11:18 PM, received at 11:37 PM.

The negative pressure ambulance was more than 20 minutes late. Fang Qi's employee number was signed after both the "vehicle delay" and "waiting for retest" columns. The actual pre-departure assessment was completed by Wei Heng.

Scrolling down the page, Gao Yuan's belongings changed from "one mobile phone" to "one mobile phone and one charger." He only remembered that the charger was still plugged into the wall by the observation station when he got on the bus. The nurse took it down and put it in his personal belongings bag, and the receiving personnel had also checked it when they called back.

Lin Ye saw the last section, where the employee numbers of the transporting doctor and the receiving personnel were listed after the departure and receiving times, respectively.

The on-call medical staff sent the new area assignments to the workstations.

Fang Qi scanned the page: "After I finish signing the handover papers, I need to go to sleep too."

The bottom line is highlighted in bold: Personnel in each area shall maintain their existing zoning and shall not change positions across areas without authorization.

When handing over the shift in the morning, Fang Qi formally handed him the work phone and pushed a sticky note onto the table.

Two numbers were circled on the sticky note, indicating that they were waiting for a callback.
